Summary: Great and fast
Review: About 2 weeks ago I bought the WMP54GS for my PC and the WPC54GS for my notebook. The reason why I bought them was because I wanted to play some games against my cousin without the hassle of putting long wires throughout the house. I was not sure if I could get the desired speed between these computers to play the games without freezing or hang-ups. My other problem was that as far as networking goes my knowledge was slim to none. However, when I received these products and installed them in my PC and notebook I had some slight connection problems (probably my fault) but after 2 or 3 hours of struggling I got it to work and I am very , very satisfied with these products. The computers give me an almost constant connection speed of 54Mbps and as far as the gaming goes, there are no hang-ups or freezing. I also recently bought the WRT54GS router , but I haven't connected it yet because I am waiting for ADSL at home. As far as I am concerned ALL these products deserve 5 stars. Keep up the good work LINKSYS.

Summary: Didn't Work
Review: Bought the card to match the Linksys Speedbooster Router, but the card didn't work well enough...My old Orinoco card (802.11b) worked seamlessly with the router also the inbuilt Intel-Pro wireless card (802.11g) worked with the router without a glitch. I tried upgrading the firmware etc as specified by Linksys but it didn't help. Finally I am returning the card.

Summary: Did not connect to the Internet
Review: I got this card for a Sony vaio notebook adapter and our corporate network that uses WEP encryption. I do know if this is a problem with the other Linksys network cards, but while this one would connect to the Access point, it would not connect to the network. I contacted Linksys support which was extremely clueless and the person kept asking another tech for help. I returned the card, and got a dlink card. The dlink wireless network card worked fine.

Summary: It works great once it's set up.
Review: I just set up a home network with Linksys BEFCMU10 EtherFast Cable Modem, Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster and this Adapter. The set-up of this Adapter was a little troublesome. My problem was I didn't use a 10-digit WEP password, instead, I used a 8-digit password. I wasn't given any error message, neither I can find any help from the linksys web. Once I changed to 10-digit password. This adapter works very great, fast and makes me very happy.

Summary: Excellent item from Linksys.
Review: I purchased this item with the Linksys WAP54G Wireless-G Access Point and had no issue's that other reviewers spoke of. Installation and setup was straight forward to the point it and it seems silly to mention it but all I did was follow the step by step instructions. I have two of them installed in both an IBM T40 running WinXP SP1 and a Gateway Solo 9550 running WinXP SP2. We have a 2400+ sq. ft. home and even when I am on the other side of the house the speed only drops to 36 Mbps or so. So from my perspective, this works wonderfully and am thoroughly enjoying the freedom to roam around the house with my laptop. I should also note that we have 5.8Ghz cordless phones. My previous experience was that 2.4Ghz phones interferred with the wireless network.

Summary: Works wonderful
Review: I read some of the reviews, and got convinced to bye Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster and this Adapter. This was my first ever wirless connection installation. I just read what the product manual told me to do, and the rest was taken care off by Win Xp. I have no problems so far (I have been using it for 6 months). I am using it with a compaq labtop 1500. The house I live in has concrete walls and ceilings. This could be a problem between levels but not between walls. So far all my use for the network is in one level, but if I choose to widen my network to another level in the house, I will try to set it up higher than it is now, or just get a booster for the other level.

Summary: Linksys WPC54GS Pc Card 802.11G On Mac Powerbook G4 Ti
Review: I started with the Linksys pre wireless version with 4 port, from Amazon about 4 years ago. Then when I got a Mac PowerBook with airport-B class internal wifi in Late November 2003 (Last PBg4 b4 the new aluminums w/.11G), I ordered a Linksys .11B w/4port and since seeing the one post about the card working in a Mac decided to try the latest GS Combo. The Mac had no problem finding the network. Wifi Setup was a snap) Linksys techs helped get all 3 routers working together, that took 30mins). The new WRT54GS and matching card**** Nice improvement, Video is only a tad slower than cat5e connection. Speed check at optonline hits 5,300(53mbps). Worth the work. You do have to know your Mac though. Airport setup is the key. *Use the WEP-set mac id on router to only accept the listed address the rest is up to you to play with. I highly recommend this setup. You get the best wifi connection a Mac can get for less, especially for pre G models. Linksys use of broadcom chip is the same standard on airport, they are compatible. Airport treats it like internal when inserted. I have had only minor bugs and one crash from not turning airport off b4 powering off the card. As far as G vs. GS price 10-20% dif. Who cares? I wanted SpEED! Besides Amzn px was best (+$30 off with Credit Card deal dropped the px to $109 Flat (no-tax, no Shipping) NOT BAD! So all you preG Mac owners who were hesitating, Get the GS (speedbooster works) 108 never gonna happen, technically impossible... read some reviews. As far as comparison with other brands. Apple certified repair shops sell these because they work. They just don't sell at Amzn prices. So enjoy your Itunes downloads fast from the backyard.

Summary: Easy Install But Speed Seems Slow
Review: I use this with the companion Linksys 54GS Wireless Router. Installation was relatively easy - - use the setup CD before plugging in anything. With the Router, I did not plug/unplug anything until instructed by the CD. Once the wired PC & Network was working, I went to the laptop, and again, did not plug in the Card until instructed to (running pokey Windows 2000 - - have a magazine nearby when working w/ 2000). First try didn't work, but a re-install did work, and am quite happy it works. However, the laptop is in the next room, about 20 feet away, and the max throughput I get is about 11mps, far from the 18mps typical for the g standard; sometimes I get only 5 mps. It's also confusing to know whether Speedboster is operating or not; the Survey will sometimes show Speedbooster, and other times, just the speed. However, it is mainly for multi-use of our DSL (300K-1 mps), so speed is not too important yet. But I am concerned about range - - if 20 feet in my layout is a 50% signal, then what would happen at a longer distance, say 50 feet?? The solution may be to raise the Router higher, but that means using much longer cables, and dangling them where they can be seen. Well, not a bad product, but range & quality signal is disappointing to me.

Summary: great product from Linksys
Review: I use this WPC54GS with my Thinkpad T30. Setup was easy with the software they give you. I also bought the WRT54GS router. I have a cable modem so its very fast. I can be online at the kitchen table (with my thinkpad) while the kids are online in the study. Had an issue with setting up when my laptop did not get connected to internet. Just redid the settings and bingo it worked. Pay attention and write down settings while you do the initial router setup. Your adaptor settings must be the same.
