Summary: A Flawless Device
Review: I have rarely had such a pain-free setup experience with a computer peripheral. I had my desktop and laptop hooked up to the Internet via a cable broadband connection in about ten minutes, and without a single headache. It worked perfectly! (Keep in mind that you will need a networking cord for each computer you are attaching to the Linksys, as the router does not come with any.)

Summary: Would not work -- Lousy customer support
Review: I bought this item from a local electronics store and read the installation instructions carefully. I physically installed the item but could only get one machine on my network to use the device at a time -- the one that booted up first. A re-reading of the manual did not give a clue to what was wrong. During two intensely frustrating calls to customer technical support I spoke with arrogant and stupid people who were of no help. I was fortunately able to return the item without a loss.I subsequently bought a Netgear RP114. There were problems but the technical support people (based in India) were wonderful. The problem had nothing to do with the device -- all about firewalls, etc. but they gave me lots of things to look at and finally recommended that I look for a firewall, etc. that might be mucking up the works. Since I cleared the obstructions I (and my family) have been thoroughly enjoying shared broad-band connection to the internet.

Summary: Great Product
Review: I would recommend this product to anyone who has cable internet
service and wishes to connect to more than one machine. The hardware installation is very simple as there are illustrated
instructions included with the product. The software configuration is a little tricky and the documentation included
was vague. There is an instruction CD included but again configuration of software was not very clear. Overall, once you
get this baby configured and working you will be very pleased.

Summary: Works perfect and is ez - if you know the trick
Review: I tried to read the manual on this thing and got confused and decided to delay the installation of this thing at home. Then a friend told me all he did was:
Connect it, type http://192.168.1.1 in internet explorer, found the MAC Cloning entry and typed in the ethernet address. That was it! too simple. I did the same thing and all of my computers now can surf the net at anytime, its great!

Review: I dont know too much about networking, but this installation went very smooth. I have 2 computers and they both share one cable isp, very fast, very good and I'm very happy today!!!

Summary: Total junk and l;ousy company
Review: I first tried the Linksys 4 port Cable/DSL router, and it was such a peice of junk. It dropped my connection constantly, it needed to be reset daily in order to work. Linksys tech support was absolutely horribly, and the people there barely spoke english. IThe Linksys is also made of cheap plastic, not very durable at all, the Netgear router is metal, very sturdy. Amazon was awesome when i called them and told them the product was ..., and they accepted my return .... I then got the Netgear RT314, and wow, it has worked without issue for well over a year now, not one single glitch. Their tech support is very fast and generally very helpful, especially when I have contacted them about issues for things I was just trying to do, basically for using it to set up game and ftp servers and such. Excellent buy, don't look at any other company for routers. I am also using one of their Netork Hard drives, print servers, hub, and network cards, all have given me ZERO problems!

Review: Out of the box, it worked as advertised. I had no problem in setting it up. I'm using it to provide Internet access through a cable modem to three computers in my home. Works great!

Summary: Broken product
Review: The directions are clear and understandable. I work in technology and could not get it to work. After waiting 30 mins for tech support, I was told that it was "probably" defective and to return it. Now, I get to go through the joys of returning something to Amazon.
