Summary: A No Brainer!
Review: This router was very easy to install. I just hooked it up to my computers and my cable modem (Motorola Surfboard) and Windows XP did the rest.

I have been using this router since December 2002 with no problems at all.

This was the first network install for me and I was surfing the net within a few minutes.

Summary: worth the money
Review: I've owned 3 of these. I gave 1 away and have 2 currently.
I work in the Technology feild and these switches setup without any problem (unlike most things that I work with).

People with no computer experience can set these up.

The price is right too.

Summary: Worked great for a while....
Review: This router was great for a while. Actually about a year and two months. About a week ago it started to drop the DSL connection. Since then its been working if i call up tech support and jump through a series of hoops, most involving differnt ways of reseting the thing. Then it would go down the next day. It became a great point of stress seeing as i need the internet for school and such. It was later "deemed" broken by tech support. conveiently a couple months after the warranty ran out.

Until recently i have reccomended them to others too. I know that I will be REALLY hesitative to buy another linksys product in the future.

Summary: Was great in the beginning....
Review: The router worked very well right up to the time the warranty expired, then it expired as well. It started by the two computers "fighting" with each other. Tech supports response was to lock the 10/100 cards down to 10. Worked great if all I wanted to do was to access the web. File transfers between the computers crawled at that speed. Reset button stopped working, so I unplugged it to reset the router. Started into it's diag routine and never came out of it. It got very hot. Researching replacements, I found a good 40% of the people taking time to post had similar problems. I'm sure there are people that have not had any problems with these routers, but my experience was less than optimal. Replaced it with a Netgear router, same price and 3x the warranty.

Summary: I'll never buy linksys gear again
Review: I bought this from a well-known chain store, took it home, and set it up. It worked for a few hours and then suddenly died. No internet connection, nothing. I took it back to the store and got another one of the same model. This one lasted long enough for me to send in for the rebate, then it too died. The store would not take it back since I had sent for the rebate. I could not reach anyone at Linksys despite hours of waiting on hold on a toll call. Needless the say the rebate never came either...

Summary: Great for sharing your hispeed cable connection
Review: This helps ended the battle for PC and Internet connection in my household. Now both my son and myself can be online at the same time! Had it for almost a year and have no problem with it. If you have multpile PCs and Hi-speed connection like RR, it is great to have this hub. There is no need to pay RR for additional connection!

Summary: Not Perfect, but Linksys is!
Review: When I purchased my router a little while ago on amazon.com I was a little cautious because of the bad reviews. The router is almost flawless, it is the easiest to set up and manage, I have had only one problem. Once in a while a peice of computer equipment fries. And this router is no different. My router fried within 2 months of when I purchased it. I called Linksys and they said there was a 1 year warranty on all Linksys products and all I had to do was ship it to them for them to ship me a brand new one. I shipped it promtly and figured like most company warranties it would take over 2 weeks to get back to me. LESS THEN A WEEK. The new one is working faster and better then ever before! Linksys is a great company

Summary: Worked like a charm
Review: Bought the router, took it home and was up and running in less than 10 minutes. It took longer to hook up the hardware than any other install activity. Firewall is great for incoming, but you will need a software firewall for outbound protection (not really necessary).

Summary: Buy This If You Like Hitting the Reset Button
Review: I bought this router and everything seemed to work fine at first. Then I started noticing that things just stopped working. None of my computers could get to the Internet. So, I hit the "Reset" button on the router and everything appeared to be working again..until the next day.

To make a long story short, it seemed like everyday I had to hit the "Reset" button and the router eventually stopped working altogether. Frustrated, I bought the equivalent router from Netgear and have never had a problem since.

Hope this helps you avoid my mistakes. Do yourself a favor and go with NetGear right off the bat.
