Rating: Summary: Killed the PC Review: To my great surprise, something as simple as this external 4-port USB hub managed to lock up my PC every time I started the computer with the hub attached. A look at the Windows Task List showed that MSGSRV32 was "not responding", and had to be killed before the PC would respond again. This was on a Gateway 2000 Performance P4-1700, running under Windows ME.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Buy Review: If you really need a USB hub then this one will do it for ya. I bought it, I have used it at work, at home, on my laptop, etc. Because it is a usb device it works with PC's and Macintosh's alike. It is small and fits neatly into a purse, or a laptop case. It is your basic hub that does what it is supposed to do: give you more options when dealing with multiple devices. You can't beat the price and it is a Linksys - which means Quality. I can happily recommend this product.
Rating: Summary: Obsolete product. Review: This is USB 1.0Devices (like printers) sold today require USB 2.0.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't work Review: I tried to use the USB hub by Linksys and when I did the screen would freeze or my track ball or keyboard would not work properly. They work fine when disconnected from hub. I am using with Windows XP Professional on a Dell laptop. I called Linksys and was on hold for 25 minutes. I hung up. Again I called and was on hold for 15 minutes then when they transferred me I was disconnected.
Rating: Summary: A USB port is a USB port Review: Works great, just as you'd expect from Linksys.
Rating: Summary: Cheap, good hardware piece for your USB troubles Review: A good piece works without AC/DC cord. You can plug cheaply all the gadgets you need. Easy driver less installation under Win XP.
Rating: Summary: LINKSYS USB 4 PORT HUB Review: WORKS GREAT , LOVE IT, NO HASSLE .
Rating: Summary: A real pleasure! Review: This is awesome. I was having such problems before between my printer and burner my computer could NEVER read the right equipment. This took like no time to hook up and I have not had 1 problem. Everything reads perfectly! Wish I would have bought it a year ago. I now have my prinet, cd burner and my PDA cradle hooked up, what a pleasure! I have not tried to use more than 1 at a time so I can't say how well that works. Just to have all the cords in the back and not hanging out of the front of the tower is worth the money.
Rating: Summary: nice and compact, but you might end up needing power Review: it's the perfect size if you need the ports for USB 1.0. be warned, however, that there's a tiny power input jack in the side (you can almost see it in the photo -- the little cutout on the left in the blue), but it doesn't come with a power adapter or any information about what to use. i use an optical mouse, a keyboard, and a webcam without problem, yet i've heard many usb devices need powered USB and there's clearly a jack, so i thought i should mention it.
