Summary: Works Like a Charm
Review: I've had this wireless router for about six months and haven't had a single issue. It runs three computers, two with Windows XP and the other with Windows ME. Set-up was pretty easy, although it did take a call to customer support to figure out how to work around some cable modem issues. I've been very happy with the throughput, although I'm never too far from the base station.

Summary: Nice unit!
Review: I purchased this unit with the WPC11 card about a month ago. This is a great system. It took me only 5 minutes to set it up. I have a Dell Dimension 4100 Desktop hooked up to one of the four ports (10/100), and I have my Dell Latitude CPx laptop connected to it using the WPC11 card. The only problem that you might have with this unit is that it's on a cluttered 2.4GHz frequency, and you may see some interference with other devices on it. The 5GHz or 802.11a units are available for sale now, but the price for this unit is almost double the cost. If you want a nice system this is the one for you. Have fun...

Summary: Serves my needs fairly well.
Review: I tried the SMC Barricade, thought about the Nexland Wavebase and ended up with the Linksys. The expense of the Wavebase & lack of comparative reviews ruled that one out. The SMC range was not that good in my space (lath and plaster) & it slowed my DSL connection over time requiring periodic resets. At the time I'd upgraded it to the most recent firmware. It DID have nice security features which I appreciated. The Linksys Version 2, however, went the distance (pun intended). I tried the Version 1 and was happy with that, but V2 had even better range. What I DO NOT like about the Linksys is it's lack of basic security features. Though there is support for WEP, the type of MAC filtering available isn't really helpful for keeping OUT computers. We all know that 802.11B is a security hole waiting to be exploited. I just assume put as many locks on as possible, weak or not. If you do a search for wireless network security, some basic things are always listed. Not only are these not really supported by the Linksys, but in my experience Linksys tech support was fairly clueless about how to secure the router from Wardriving. I have read that a recent firmware release for the V2 is available to address some of these issues, but I have read mixed reviews. I'll wait a bit and see how it matures. For what it's worth I run it wired and wireless on an Orinoco Gold mostly for sharing a PPPoE DSL connection and rarely do much file and print sharing. ... I have since upgraded to the most recent official firmware and am pleased that the security features that I have been looking for have now been included. The MAC filtering that I was waiting for is a little hard to find, as it is in the ADVANCED/WIRELESS area under the title "Station MAC Filter". And at the time of my install there were no instructions available for the new features. I'm not sure if there are now.

Review: For those that are interested in setting up a wireless network but also have computers that want to be wired this is the product for you. Setup was extremely easy for me and i have somewhat or a good knowledge about computers only took me about 5 minutes!! Downside is you actually have to physically connect in order to access the thing and setup the wireless network. I have the Version 2 of this product so i don't know about how well version 1 is. Range is excellent in my opinion for my apartment. I also didn't have troulbe using a different brand for my wireless card to connect to it. Go get this product!!!

Summary: Best $150 I've spent in a long time.
Review: After reading the reviews of the most popular wireless routers I decided to go to my local [electronic store] to get one (which is 5 minutes away) so I could return it easily in case any problems occured. I installed the router in about 5 minutes and it worked like a charm on my direct wired PC (Win 98). I started to get excited because my network performance actually improved with the router installed (I have AT&T broadband). Next on the list was my laptop. I bought the least expensive Linksys PCMCIA card and once again had no problems with the install (10 minutes) on Win ME. And guess what, it worked the first time and I was surfing at 86% of 11MB from the recliner in my living room. So let's add this up. 5 minutes for the router + 10 minutes for the PCMCIA = both machines networked and running great for only [a price]. Let's be serious, this is just about the best thing you can do with [money] for your computers. As soon as I can I am going to get this setup for my laptop at work (then I can also use it on my LAN at home).

Summary: This is a great product!
Review: I purchased mine about 6 months ago and it has worked flawlessly. I use both both cable and wireless connections on this and it works great. It was easy to setup and configure for my ISP - DSL service. I have a mixture of PC and Mac computer in my house and the Mac's with Apple's AirPort cards work perfect with the Linksys router. The router is in the basement of a 2 story house with brick and plaster walls and I can connect anywhere without problems. If you are looking for simplicity and a reliable product - this is it!

Summary: Good router unless you video conference
Review: I bought this router so that I could surf the net or access my network from anywhere in my house or front yard. When I got it home and set it up it appeared to work like a dream. All I really had to do is plug in my cable modem an go. The problem didn't show up until I tried to video conference with my mom. She could hear and see me, but I could not hear or see her. After going through the trouble shooter and trying all sorts of different security and port authorization changes I finally gave up and called Linksys. When I got ahold of someone and I explained the problem they told me that they probably would not be able to help because this router does not work well with video. After a couple more changes it was determined that video conferenceing was just not possible with this router. A huge disappointment for me and my mom. If it wasn't for the video this router would have received 5 stars.

Summary: Super easy to use right out of the box
Review: I bought this to setup a wireless network so I can share my cable modem between both my computers (desktop and laptop). It will probably take me longer to write this review than to get the router up and functional. Brings plug and play to a whole new level, very easy to use interface.
