Summary: Excellent Product
Review: Once you set this unit up. It's virtually problem free. It works perfectly. I setup a wireless network for someone with this router, it has been about a year and not a single complaint. I personally use this router as well. Another quality product from Linksys

Summary: Issues in getting an IP from ISP
Review: I wanted to replace my 4-port linksys switch with the wireless one. For some reason the wireless unit does not accept any IP (dynamic ip) from the ISP provider. When I setup the IP to a static one it works well. I tried another unit and the same problem with it also. There is definitely a problem here.

I am now using both units - the wired one is geting the IP address from my ISP and giving out a DHCP address (on the 192.168) space to the wireless unit - which in turn is goving out DHCP addresses (on the 10.10) to my laptop and desktop.

... Again they dont take dynamically assigned addresses from your ISP. Upgrader both to their latest 1.42.2 firmware.

Summary: no luck twice in a row
Review: I bought this wireless router to use with my laptop in my house. After the installation, it worked for a half hour, then lost the connection. Then a day later, it's totally dead - the self-diagnosis light was on. After spending time with Linksys tech support (he has no idea what is what), I was told that the unit was defective. Got a replacement from Amazon, the same thing over again - the second unit worked for a few minutes! No way that I was going to try the third one.

Summary: worst product I ever bought
Review: I bought this wireless router from ... and followed all the installation instructions.
For some reasons my router's default IP was configured to 192.168.2.1 and it wouldnt accept the password specified in the manual. When I called up customer service, it was the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The guy was rude, impatient and blamed me for having messed up the IP and setting the wrong password. He went even went on to say that somebody must have done it in my absence and then to top it hung up on me.

I have spent way too much time, trying to figure out this piece of Junk and am ready for a refund .

Summary: functional but mediocre
Review: At this price, the router is an ok value. The instructions are easy to follow and tech support is satisfactory. But don't expect too much in terms of the range or the signal strength. Was considering to add a signal booster, but would rather wait for a later model with stronger signal built in. That's because I have a b adapter, and should sooner or later upgrade to a g adapter and router.

Review: Bought this product and was amazed at how tremendously easy it was to install and get up and running! I read about some problems people had with other versions but the version Amazon.com shipped to me (Version 3) is great! I have two computers both running Windows XP. One upstairs and one downstairs. Windows XP configured everything for me automatically. I had both computers connected to the internet in about 30 mins. or less. I am running a Linksys wireless PCI adapter in my upstairs computer and signal strength is always excellent or very good. I have not had any dropped connections or any other problems. Great product! A must buy.

Summary: Easy Setup Great Price Great Performance
Review: Be sure to download the firmware update from Lynksys before spending a lot of time using this device. They have a simple utility to run on the PC connected to the device to "flash" its memory.

Certain functions won't work without the update and performance may be less.

If you're wondering about 802.11G who cares? Broadband cable and DSL are well below the 11MBS speed of this device (less than 1.5MBS). It'll be a few years for you to need more bandwidth than this device provides for the home user.

Summary: Good Product.
Review: I got this router along with the Linksys USB Wireless Adapter (Version 2.6) about 4 months ago. It has performed flawlessly since the day i connected it. It is currently operating across a house and 3 stories up with excellant signal strength. I have yet to see an instance where the speeds where anything less that what i get on my wired line. Well worth the money.

Summary: limited range
Review: I bought this wireless router in early November and finally set it up in mid March! I have not yet used the Linksys wireless notebook card, but the Microsoft wireless notebook card I have is giving "low" and "poor" signal strength readings 40 to 50 feet away indoors. Big disappointment! I will try raising the router higher and later, if I have to, I'll get a Linksys signal booster, but I shouldn't be having these problems at such short ranges. The set up was a snap since it replaced a Linksys 10/100 eithernet router on the same network. 128 bit WEP, MAC filtering and SSID broadcast suppression for security was easy as pie and I have nothing but praise for the browser based setup that Linksys employs. All my other experiences with Linksys products has been excellent, and I have set up three home networks all with Linksys routers.

Review: ... ... ... ... Lynkis is very good and the signal strenth is not effected by walls and ceilings. This is the one to get for sure and specially if your ISP is [local carrier], regardless of who it's through.
