Summary: Easy setup, great customer service, good range
Review: All in all I'm really happy with this router with built-in print server. Especially the customer service. It was easy to set up, but I made a few bonehead moves. Worked with three customer service reps and each was knowledgable in their own right, plus they clearly had a good knowledge database to draw from. It has excellent range and I can roam all over my house with excellent connectivity and speed.

Summary: Works great!
Review: At first I wan't too sure if I had made the right decision buying a SpeedStream router and a D-link (650) PC card, but two rebates combined for $50 is too much to resist.

I tried to set up the router first and had no problem with the first page. At the beginning of the second page, the instruction asked me to go to an URL. Knowing the connection hasn't been established since the router has not been configured yet, I was a bit confused and stuck for a few minutes.

I finally decided to just went ahead entering the URL in the brower, somehow the screen showed up and the rest was a breeze.

Setting up the PC card also took only a few minutes. I walked to different rooms in my house, and the signal from the router would adjust strength to ensure good connection quality.

I have not tested the printer sharing or file sharing yet, but I am really happy with the router so far.

Summary: Very dissapointed.
Review: Got my brand new router on Friday. I was very excited to set my network up over the weekend but to my dismay the wireless PCMCIA card was not being recognized by the router - this simple task of about 10 mins took >22 hrs excluding break times and still no resolution. Not to mention the >40 mins of wait time I had to suffer on Monday to get to a live human being at Speedstream!

I finaly gave up and bought another Speedstream router from a local store and it works!!

My personal recommendation would be to see if you can see the Wireless LED light ON after the initial setup. If you do then things are fine, else run and return your router without worrying about getting a RMA number from SpeedStream.

Since I have not done extensive testing of its capabilities, I cannot comment on its performance.

Summary: used to be a good product till firmware upgrade- bad support
Review: Have used this for the last 2 years and never had any issues. Recently, I decided to upgrade the firmware on this router.
Do not upgrade to V1.1 Release 10 for 2624 on their support website if you want your VPN to work. I know it is the router firmware because it used to work right before the upgrade.

Their support charges $45 to open an incident so I am trying to find a previous release of the firmware so that I can get my VPN connection to work again !!!

Summary: Amazing! Great Signal and no problems.
Review: I bought a bundle of two siemens products, this router and the usb adapter. Signal strength is excellent or at least 80% anywhere in the house, even three floors down in the basement. If you are hesitating to add wireless to your house, dont. This product will impress you.

Summary: Excellent product; very reliable
Review: I bought one at a local CompUSA store based on a PC Magazine Editor's Choice award and have been very impressed with it. The thing just always works plus the remote Web-based administrative function is pretty cool.

Summary: Don't Even Think of buying this product
Review: I bought this product 10 days ago. Already exchanged it once after 2 days of working. Now the technical support again says, it has problem and want me to change this with a different one.

The technical support agrees it had a firmware problem. Their turn around time to return the router after repairs is 30 days. Now I am lucky that I can return it back to store because it is less than 30 days. With their 30 days turn around time and the quality of the product, I think the product is going to lye at the manufacturers place most of the time and the effective use of the product by the user is less.

It is very difficult to get customer support online. Wait time of 10 to 15 minutes everytime.

The internet connection speed reduces drastically while wireless. I have the wireless PC connected next to the router. Still the same problem.

I bought their wireless adapters also. But they are great. Worth for money.

Summary: Good router and good support
Review: I bought this router two weeks ago and I am very happy with it. The reasons for me to buy it were (1) Siemens is a good brand, although not as famous as Linksys in the router business, and (2) it has a built-in print server. A separate print server would cost more than $50. Without a hardware print server, if I want to print something from my laptop using wireless connection, I could (a) use infrared, in very short distance and the printer needs to have infrared capability, or (b) use my desktop PC as print server, and every time I want to print, I need to be sure the PC is turned on. Neither was what I wanted. The interface of the print server is parallel, making printing slower than it would be with USB interface. But a USB print server would cost you hundreds of dollars. One downside is that the installation instruction is too terse, and I had to call support to get things straight. It was about 7 pm ET and there was no waiting and the support person was knowledgeable. The wireless signal is excellent anywhere in my two-story apartment. Because of the overhead associated with wireless, the download speed I could reach is 117 KBytes/sec, while I could reach 145 KBytes/sec on my PC, using the same DSL service.

Summary: Proven piece of junk
Review: I bought two of these as I needed to set up wireless networks in two places; ended up using only one. It worked - more or less - for several months, then died. I pulled another one from the storage, it worked 2 months and died. Wireless range not very good but acceptable; however, oftentimes it lost wireless connectivity, and I had to cycle it.
