Rating: Summary: It's Aight Review: Installation is easy, pretty much a plug and play.Don't pay much attention to the manual as for it has a couple of mis-leading information. Such as the default IP being 192.168.0.254 , when it's 192.168.1.254 Range is really not as advertised. If when said Indoors they mean a Warehouse (only 4 walls), you , the router and a computer, then probably yes. But Indoors as people would understand (inside house) is MUCH MUCH less. As a previous post mentioned. 1Mbit at 50ft that's (16 Meters) I also faced the "large data transfer" lock ups. But once you have it configured. You dont have to thikn about it again. Just make sure your Wireless CARD is configured properly (right channel, right SSID) and..."Infrastructure" setting, not "adhop" as factory default and as mentioned in the lynksis wireless card manual. TechSupport is GREAT, maybe I was in luck. Close to no wait time and in 5 minutes all my questions where answered.
Rating: Summary: No Setup CD Review: instead of putting setup CD for the printserver, Linksys puts utility cd for some other products. so the printserver is useless. Moreover, the support never reply email regarding this issue.

Rating: Summary: DONT BUY THIS. Product discontinued Review: Linksys makes great stuff, except this product has a critical design flaw. I buy Linksys products for my office, so this product seemed like a home-run. BUt, I spent 40 days, and 3 shippments, trying to get the router to not lock up. The bug is with its wireless port. It freezes up. Take my advice. Don't buy this. Go buy a SMC or DLINK instead.
Rating: Summary: Customer Service Alone Warrants a "Do Not Buy" Warning Review: So far, my Linksys Wireless DSL/Cable Router with Print Server works fairly well, aside from the fact that it freezes up fairly often. However, I finally found the latest firmware available at the Linksys (unfortunately it was NOT the one features on their website. I had to be directed to the FTP site to find the Version 1.03). That seemed to fix the problem, and it works great now. Print Server was easy to set up. BUT--where the "DO NOT BUY" warning comes in is with the Customer Service/Tech Support. Upon calling them, the first thing that is abundantly clear is you will know more about their product then they do. I read similar warnings, and figured they had to be bogus--but after experiencing it first-hand, trust me. I am sure they have "advanced technical support" that constitutes their real techinical support staff, but to get to them you have to deal with the first line staff, and that was a horrible, frustrating experience--at least until I managed to get it working largely without their help.
Rating: Summary: Excellent product Review: The Linksys BEFW11P1 is an excellent router. Installation was a snap, I simply plugged it in, connected from my internal switch to the router and from the router to my cable modem. I then reset the cable modem and I was done. Ease of use is something I would expect out of a broadband router these days, so were it only this, I would rank it only satisfactory. What makes it excellent is the easy to use web-based administration interface. I was able to get in from many different machines (you can set a password to protect it) including machines running Mac OSX, Win98, Win2000 and WinXP. I like how you can setup different users and groups based on MAC addresses and limit the access given to each to the outside world (packet filtering). Wireless worked like a charm, however I had to enter my 128bit password in by hex code instead of generating it by password, but that was not a big deal. I already had a wireless network going using Linksys' plain old wireless access point, so the conversion to using this product was very easy. All in all, a great piece of hardware.
Rating: Summary: Panasonic users beware... Review: The only trouble I had with this router was the simultaneous use of a Panasonic 2.4gHz cordless phone. Whenever the phone would ring, I would lose the wireless signal from the router to the wireless receiver. This problem was remedied, however, by replacing the Panasonic phone with a different brand. Since then, I have not had any trouble.
Rating: Summary: Ok, For Firewall and Options Review: This is NOT a very smooth Linksys product for Windows XP, nor do they have drivers yet. A 3 star rating for WinXP necessary, but not sure for another Windows OS. I have extensively tested this product for XP - not the best performer I've seen from Linksys. It installs alone through XP very well, but it would be a bit of a pain if you didn't have much experience with XP Setup of WI-FI and general networks. If installation is attempted from the CD, the Network settings and Connections get confused. BOTTOM LINE - As for the wireless connection(s), they do not stay connected indefinitely. The router requires a RESET after so many hours. I do like all the security options, they are very useful and fail-safe. The installation software was well written for it's purpose, but not very XP compatible (yet?). DO buy this for Win 9x Applications/Uses if you don't mind resetting the router every so often, but I couldn't recommend professional use.
Rating: Summary: works great...but Review: This product will work well if it is the only router on your system. Linksys tech support is having trouble helping me configure mine with an existing linksys four port router....
