Rating: Summary: Just like in the Movies Review: Ever see a movie where everything works just like it should? No rebooting when the hero tried to go online with the alien motherships's mainframe? Just connected right away.... Well, here's a device that works just like that. I received this Wireless adapter, along with a Linksys BEFW11S4 Router (See my review and setup for that item) for Christmas. While I may have some issues setting up the router, this Wireless adapter worked right out of the box. I installed the software, plugged it into my daughter's computer in the kitchen and, Boom, it found the wireless router upstairs in my office. I set up Internet Explorer to use the LAN and she was up and surfing in no time. She is getting about 5mbps in the kitchen when connected to the router upstairs and across the house. I've got to say this was a great gift, and easy to set up.
Rating: Summary: This network adapter works as advertised... Review: I purchased this to work with the BEFW11S4 Wireless Access Point & Cable/DSL Router w/4 Port Switch. It was very easy to install. Simply plug in this usb device, install the included software, type in the necessary info in the config window, and you're set! I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5 because I was not able to get the full 11mbps speed. I got at the most 3.5mpbs speed, and that's when I was only directly upstairs, approximately 20 feet away. Actually I'm not sure if the result was because of this, or the access point. But it does advertise 11mbps at 100ft indoors. I don't transfer files back and forth much between my desktop and server, so it's not too big of a deal. A plus is that there is no latency when I'm on the wireless network.
Rating: Summary: When it works it's great, but frustrating when it's down Review: This adapter is the most frustrating piece of hardware I've ever come across! Beware when using with WinXP....very touchy! Sometimes it works perfectly. Other times it won't connect to the Internet even though it is receiving a perfect signal from the router, which is also Linksys. My Netgear card that I use in my laptop has always worked fine and was cheaper than this lightweight piece of plastic. I would recommend passing on this unless you don't mind spending hours browsing the Linksys website trying to solve your XP compatibility issues. Ack!
Rating: Summary: My Tivo Companion Review: I got this for one reason, to eliminate the Telephone cable to my Tivo. After plugging this in and doing a little setup and testing on the Tivo, I was up and running and disconnecting the 100 foot telephone cord! Yay!

Rating: Summary: very good reception, but has severe lag problem! Review: I own this adaptor for 2 years, it's version 2.6 (the cable has same style plug both sides) I use xp, driver install is easy, just follow the special instruction for xp users it has EXCELLENT reception, 20-30 meters more distance than other pc card adpators but it has SEVERE problem, that it disconnect and re-connect every several minutes under "low" reception, makes bad lagging, espcially when listening streaming radio and watching streaming video, this is very annoying other that, the antenna is so fragile, luckily the reception don't change when in recessed position (probably because of its plastic finish) if you're planning to get it for xp, get MS MN710USB instead, the reception is not as good as this, but no lag problem
Rating: Summary: Stay away from it!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Well, bought it connected it to thee machine. Have linksys router too. Thee DHCP just wouldnt catch on...Have been trying for thee paast 6 months for thee DHCP to work doesnt work So I am now working on static ips. The tech support is as good as non existant. The max knowledge they do have is if you have pluged in the the aadaaptor right. The neeeetowrk adapor software that comes doesnt eeven show the signaal strength in grpahical representation.. I will never ever buy a linksys product.. Will next time buy from netgear they seem to be the best. The only reason I boughtt the linksys was because it had cisco on it. In the end stay away from IT!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: DO NOT USE FOR ONLINE GAMING WITH WinXP Review: The configuration utilities that ship with Linksys wireless products will not install/run properly on WinXP, Linksys requires you to use the WinXP Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. One feature of WZC is that once every minute it will drop the current signal in search of a better one, resulting in constant, annoying interruptions to your online play. Thus, if you try to use Linksys wireless products for online gaming, prepare to be VERY annoyed. Otherwise, the product seems to work fine for normal web browsing.
Rating: Summary: Got TIVO? Got WIFI? This is the adapter for you! Review: If you have a Series 2 TIVO and you want to hook it up to your home network, this is what you want to buy. Just make sure you have downloaded all the updates for your TIVO or it won't work.
Rating: Summary: Works Incredibly Well With TIVO Series 2 Review: The Linksys WUSB11 wireless network adapter worked flawlessly within 10 minutes of my inserting the USB cable in the back of my TIVO Series 2 DVR. The first thing I did was contact TIVO to find if my Linksys' G speed router would be compatible with the WUSB11's B speed. I was assured by the TIVO customer representative that the WUSB11 would work with TIVO even though my router was a G. Well, all I did was plug in the WUSB11, follow directions as offered by TIVO and there was nothing else to do. It just worked! Out of the box, it just worked!! The reasons I bought the Linksys router and USB network adapter were two-fold: 1) Two computer Geeks I know recommeded Linksys... My remarks in this review are related to hooking up the WUSB11 to a TIVO Series 2 device... The WUSB11 is totally compatible with my TIVO Series 2. No doubt about it.
