Summary: worked horribly
Review: This card worked terribly. I already owned an A/B/G card from Linksys and it worked great. But this B/G card didn't work at all on the same laptop and on other laptops I tried. I purchased another linksys A/B/G and was very pleased. Even if you are using the G network, spend the extra money to get the A/B/G card (if you're getting the linksys).

Summary: Great when it works
Review: I have Linksys PCI and PCCard 54g hardware. My current problem is with the PCCard on my Windows 2000 laptop. I boot up and connect to the WRT54G router just fine. I have hard-coded IP addresses and have DHCP disabled. I can reach anywhere by IP but DNS isn't working. I have to restart the DNS service after bootup. I have a .cmd file on my desktop to do this:

net stop "DNS Client"
Pause
net start "DNS Client"
Pause

Also, when I tried loading the latest files from their web site, it loaded the utility but not the drivers, which I did manually. Then, I couldn't change and save my profiles. So I went back to the earlier version (beta TI cardbus.)

Summary: Seamless Set-up and Operation
Review: Being something of an electronic gadget klutz, I admit to having trepidations when I ordered this piece of equipment and the Router. I had never set up a network -- to say nothing of a wireless one.

I could not have been more surprised. Following the advice of the quick start instructions and set-up CD included in the Router package, I had the network up and running in less than five minutes. Not even a glitch.

The notebook adapter was installed and recognized the signal. In what seemed to be no time, I was wirelessly surfing the web with no apparent loss of speed compared to my wired connection.

To sum it up, this is a great product.

Summary: frustrating -- don't get your hopes up
Review: The card would not work on a Dell Latitude w/Win2K or on a Gateway laptop w/WinXP. Despite having the Wireless G router/AP, it got no signal when in Infrastructure mode and gave the error message "No association with AP;" ad hoc mode got a 100% signal but it still could not ping the router, hence no DHCP server. Downloading the latest (beta) driver did not help. ...

Summary: Great Product
Review: Our wireless LAN has been up and running now for over a month. It works exactly as advertised and was easy to install. The range and signal strength is good, high 90's, all over the house including the basement. I'm subtracting one star because my wife's Hewlett-Packard occasionally locks up while logged onto the network. She has an older AMD processor, but works fine on my IBM (Intel III ) and Sony (also AMD). Additionally, the instructions are a little vague. Don't forget to reboot the computer after installing the configuration or it will never synchronize to the network.

Summary: IVE GOT THE ANSWER PPL!!!
Review: i've found wut has been so hard about these cards to install...they do not fit in the cardbusII slots! if you are having trouble staying connected try this....push upwards on the bottom of the pcmcia card, i did it by mistake and after about 5 minutes of jiggling a pushing, i re connect every time. pretty shoddy work, but i thought i would share this with the rest of the angry wpc54g owners, its not the electronics but the actual housing that is causing the problems.
ive been trying to get my system up for the past 2 weeks, ruined first router by dl'ing the firmware update from linksys prolly corrupt or something, i was getting letters mixed in with my ip leading me to belive the rom was screwed. anyway, hope this helps!!!! have a good one.

Summary: Stops working on Compaq Armada Laptop
Review: I'm running the beta/TI drivers for the WPC54G, but the network stops transmitting data after varying intervals. I can't even ping the router. I have to reboot the laptop. It took an eternity to configure the router and other NICs for high security--I had to keep reentering the code for 128bit. I finally turned off DHCP and manually assigned IPs. (6/19 update) Now the system ignores the hard-coded DNS addresses and can connect anywhere by IP by not by name. So, after rebooting, I manually restart the DNS Client Windows service and then it works. Also, the latest software update as of today errors out.

Review: I love this item. with windows xp the install was verry easy. I recomend also getting the new drivers from linksys so they are supported in xp. This item will let you connect to B and G networks a very nice advantage then just B. I recomend this to anyone wishing to start a 802.11G or even an 802.11b for less to upgrade
