Summary: Awesome
Review: This router is perfect. I'm an IT guy and I set these up in people's homes and my friends and family's homes all day long. They always work great, never a problem. Not like the crappy linksys routers that have one problem after another.

Summary: Great 4-port router, but wireless...
Review: Get this if all you want is a 4-port router. The wireless function was useless for me, as I had to reset router every 1.5 to 2 hours to get the wireless to work again. Did all the usual diagnostics -- firmware upgrade, different brands of adapters, WEP on/off, etc. Needless to say, I returned it. Now experimenting with Linksys WRT54G. So far, so good. Wanted to stay with Netgear, because old MR314 worked flawlessly for over 2 years until recent power outage seemed to zap it. Not once did I have to reset MR314.

Summary: plug and play
Review: This router works very well, I just bought a second one - couldn't pass up the price (have had one for a year). I will carry it with me to a couple places that I need to sync up from time to time and I will be able to get much more comfortable with the wireless connection. One feature I really like is the wireless access control list (ACL). It shows the wireless MACs that are available so that you can easily add the ones you want. Since I use ACL, I don't bother with encryption. This router has been very reliable and is very easy to setup - it basically configures itself.

Summary: Easier than all the ho's in college!
Review: If you're looking for a good time without having to labor with ethernet cable, this router's for you. OK, its not 802.11g but still blazing fast for Internet surfing and residential LAN workloads. Hook it up, and configure online per the work instructions. Its easy, and no drivers are required. Its also very reliable as I've yet to experience a loss of signal during any session.

For all you numbnuts out there, make sure you have a USB wireless adapter, PCI or Wi-Fi network card, or Apple Airport for the client computers. Duhhhhh!!!!

Summary: Great router, and now very cheap
Review: Virtually no one needs 802.11g speeds, so nows the time to buy an 802.11b router while they're still available but very cheap. i have this router (a replacement for a crappy D-Link: both D-Links I've bought have been lemons, so I recommend avoiding them) and it's worked great. No problem setting up, all the config options you could want, but if you're not clued into networking you can ignore them and do the simple setup. I've had no problem. Good distance, and the antenna is removable if you want to put one on that gets even more distance. You can't go wrong with this one. And (I believe) Netgear is owned by Cisco, so think of this as getting a Cisco router for six-teen buc ks!

Summary: Greate device for basic and advanced users
Review: Using Netgear network devices wired 314 for 3 years
and now MR814 for year+
My Verizon DSL is always up, never needed to reboot.
Wireless range is great! Using laptop in far room with
5 walls between.

Nice feature of Netgear is dynamicDNS support which
alows to hot web-site over DHCP (non-static IP) through
www.dyndns.org.

Compact, neat, easy to use, secure, inexpensive.

Summary: Gets the job done.... sorta
Review: I purchased this router to set up a wireless network for my pocketpc with built-in wifi. I have not used it with another "computer" in my house, strictly my pocketpc.

- It was pretty easy to set up. Took me like 5 minutes, so that's a plus.

- Decent Range. For the price, it has decent range. I can sit outside with it, but not in my living room where the cordless phone can interfere with it (even when it's not in use).

- Slow signal. If I'm sitting within 15 feet of the router my internet goes at a fairly fast pace, comparable to dial-up. Unfortunately I'm running a DSL line, so the slow speed can get very irritating! My signal drops a lot at home, whether from neighborhood cordless phones or just the unsteadiness from the router. I've pretty much given up talking on AIM with it because of dropped connections.
- Weak Signal. My neighbor's wireless network router will actually overpower mine, even when I'm sitting right next to my router!

If I were you reading this review, I'd want to spend a little more money and get a high-quality router. It's great to save a few dollars, but not at the sake of dropped connections!

Summary: Great price, great product!
Review: I purchased this router and an MA111 (usb adapter acess point). It was my first time ever setting up a wireless network, although I have a good amount of computer skills. This router/ adapter setup took me only 2 hours to figure out. The router itself took only 15 minutes to setup! I soon learned how to configure the WEP (128 bit password) and firewall. The software is very user friendly. I think the router and adapter are 75 + feet apart, and two different floors / opposite ends of the house. We have a 2.5 ghrtz phone, but this does not seem to interfer. My signal strength is at the minimum 40% and at it's best 65%. I get excellent download rates from my cable modem (I have comcast and a motorola surfboard cable modem) which is attached to the router.

Why go with G when B standard is so inexpensive? cable internet usually doesn't go above 3mbps, so B standards max speed of 11mbps is more then enough. By the time this router gets old, you'll be ready for something new anyway. This B standard router is fast, reliable and easy to setup. It gets a little warm, but not too hot. I leave it on 24/7, but turn it off when on vacation. For the price, it's simply amazing. Netgear has a help # for those of you who are not so computer savvy. Netgear.com has all the most up-to-date firmware. The packaged cd-rom firmware is fine to install, works great. If you get the MA111 adapter make sure to download the usb 2.0 software though, or you could face compatability issues. I use my computer alot, basically I'm online more than I watch TV. I download alot of live concert recordings (SHN files, pretty large in size). This router is great for that, and for simple web browsing. With this price, there is no reason to not go wireless with your high-speed internet.

Summary: Very fast, easy to use, but poorly made
Review: The router is extremely easy to use. The internet speed is quick, the setup is easy, and the range is decent. But beware...it will break. The first one stopped working after about three months. So I bought another one, which worked perfectly for about a month. So now I have decided the router, although amazing, is junk.

Summary: terrible router
Review: Terrible router. Very unstable, sometimes it works, but after one n ight, it will stop working and you have to reset everything to get it work again. Also, it slows down the internet speed a lot. Very disappointed with it and will buy one from some other manufacturer next time.
