Rating: Summary: incredibly frustrating to set up on XP Review: Linksys normally puts out a great product, but I have had nothing but grief with this one. You need the patience of a Shaolin monk to successfully configure this device if you already have other wifi devices on your network. All of my other wireless products are linksys also. I should be able to simply connect the device to a usb port, load the driver, and viola! Right? Wrong! Setting up this device on my desktop interfered with my pcmcia wifi g card on my laptop. Also, if you want to place your tower underneath your desk, the USB cable provided is woefully short. I'd suggest getting at least a 2 ft USB cable so that you can mount this device on top of your desk. Also, the signal is pretty weak. Therefore, I don't suggest using this product if there is going to be any kind of physical obstruction between the device and your access point. One of the biggest draws for me to buying this product is the portability. The thought of having a portable usb wifi device was intriguing. It even comes with a lanyard so that you can wear it if you wish. However, as this device requires tweaking to get it to work properly, it is not truly plug and play . I cannot in good conscience recommend this product.
Rating: Summary: Worked Review: Rather anticlimatic. Installed drivers and I was up and running.
Rating: Summary: Excellent range - nice form factor Review: Sometimes I get burnt by adopting new technology before its well tested, but in this case I feel like I made a good choice. Windows XP detected the card right away, asked me for my drivers, next my 128-bit WEP code for my SSID and I was off and running around the NET! I don't know if there's Linux drivers yet, but as long as your using 98SE and above - and like being able to carry around an adapter on a keychain - this is the wireless adapter for you! Note:I bought this since I could not surf the internet and access my removable hard drive at the same time. I was unable to use my usb 2.0 pc card together with my dell truemobile 1150 wireless pc card adapter.
Rating: Summary: Only if you need the form factor Review: The industrial design on this product is great! Compact design, and a slick folding antenna. The driver/software support is horrible. It took me 2 days to get it working with a Sony VAIO. The software install disk failed and I had to manually install the drivers and the documentation provided was poor and didn't cover all the properties settings for the drivers. The worst problem is that Linksys claims this product is "hot swappable" which is a half-truth. You can plug it in and it will activate, but if you unplug it, then plug it in again, it will not reactivate. If you check the Linksys support FAQ, they admit "You may require a reboot after unplugging the device". Hardly "hot swappable"...
Rating: Summary: Easy Wireless Networking Review: This adapter is a very handy device. It's simple to set up and very easy to install. A great way to avoid opening up your computer case. Just plug it into a USB port, pop up the antenna, and load the software. This adapter is designed for use with a wireless router, such as the Linksys Wireless B Broadband Router I use. The cable modem plugs into the router and then the router broadcasts the cable signal throughout my apartment, making it simple for my several wireless enabled devices to pick up the Internet and get email. This is a terrific, no-hassle device for a good price.

Rating: Summary: TIVO users rejoice!! Review: This little beauty is the real deal. No more 100 foot telephone cords snaking through your living room. Pop this little baby into the back of your TIVO, follow the instructions on the screen, and you are set! The instructions that come with this adapter are for use with a laptop or desktop, they do not apply if you are installing this on a TIVO. Go to your TIVO menu, plug in the adapter and follow the instructions on the screen. I was able to get this adapter up and running in less than 5 minutes. My TIVO automatically told me I had to update my firmware (it also told me how to do it). Then I just entered my closed network SSID and it was up and running. Beautiful!!

Rating: Summary: No power issues for me Review: Unlike Dan, my Tivo loves this adapter and reports 76% signal strength to my access point, which is located on another floor of my house. Configuration of the adapter using the Tivo software was amazingly easy. Tivo even had a firmware upgrade for the adapter stored on my local box, which it applied automatically. No more phone line for me. Anyone want to buy half a dozen phones? :-) cheers, Steve
Rating: Summary: Just hooked up my TiVo.. Whoot! Review: Wow! So easy. So nice. So simple. I am using the Home Media Option for my TiVo and I bought this to connect up to my network. I plugged it in. Tivo detected it. I changed my wireless settings in Setup and I was connected to my network within 5 minutes.
