Summary: Just Love It!
Review: Great deal! One of the cheaper converters selling, and worth every penny. I use mine to connect the my ipaq to my laptop, since my laptop didn't come with a RS232 (COM, or Serial) port. It fully functions in Linux; it's detected as Vendor=067b ProdID=2303, which means the Vendor is Prolific, and it's the model 2303, so all you have to do is compile the pl2303 module, and modprobe it. :-)

Review: I bought this so I could connect my GPS to my laptop. I connected the adapter and installed the drivers and had no problem downloading to my GPS. Works great. I have a Toshiba with XP Home.

Review: I installed it in 5 minutes or less, just followed the instructions and everything worked well, I use Windows XP Home Edition.

Review: I ordered this in hopes of getting it to work with my GPS. Unfortunately, the drivers provided give a blue screen of death on Windows XP Home! Fortunately, I was able to find another source of drivers. If you order this, go to http://tech.prolific.com.tw and look for the PL-2303 USB to Serial Bridge Controller driver. This has solved the problem for me and ended the blue screen on access. (the one I downloaded was wd_pl2303_v20011_v20024.zip). Be aware that you may need to do this to use the device.
