The 3Com 10/100 PCI EtherLink network interface card (NIC) offers LAN security at 10/100 Mbps speed. Ideal for e-commerce, financial, government, engineering, or health care applications, it can reduce CPU utilization and enhance host system performance by offloading TCP/IP networking tasks to the 3XP processor, including TCP segmentation/addressing and TCP/IP checksum. In addition, the encryption chip offloads IPSec encryption such as 3DES, DES, MD5, and SHA-1 for more reliable, secure connections. Using a 32-bit PCI interface, the NIC works with PCs and most major operating systems. It is fully standards compliant, supporting 802.3, 802.3u, PC99, WfM, and DMI.
