Summary: Effective and Inexpensive
Review: I needed a few more ethernet ports for my home network and I wasn't looking for anything fancy. I am quite satisfied with the Trendnet switch. It comes with a 5-year warrenty should anything go wrong in the future, but it worked just fine out of the box and doesn't seem like it's going to have problems.

A year ago, the cheapest switch you could get was $40. At $19.99, it doesn't get much sweeter. My only complaint about the Trendnet switch is that the led activity display is cheaply made and could come off easily. Once you plug in your computers and tuck the switch away, that won't be a problem.

Great value, great product. 5 stars.

Summary: Great basic switch for home or small business
Review: The TRENDware TE100-S8P is a compact, aggressively-priced, no-frills switch well-suited to home or small business use. Setup is trivial since the ports are auto-sensing as to speed (10/100) and connection type (computer or uplink). Just connect the power cord, plug in your devices with Cat5E Ethernet cables, and you're in business. Front panel indicators are clear if a bit small. The switch has underside holes for vertical surface mounting (screws not included) or you can easily attach 4 included rubber feet and sit the switch on a desk or other work surface. If you don't need more than 8 ports or remote management, this is a great choice that will be easy on your wallet!
