Summary: Awesome MD Player/Recorder!
Review: I have only had my new MD for a few days but it has exceeded all expectations! It has a really nice look (not as bland as some other models out there), great features, has an analog and digital optical cable (which is fantastic), a convenient and useful remote control (which is backlit for when in the dark), a lithium ion battery (lasts about ten hours before recharging) and an extra alkaline battery attachment (if you want more playing time), and the headphones are not so bad either! Its fairly easy to use and the sound quality is superb! Better than expected! (I would recommend getting a car-tape adapter to listen to in the car) Overall, the product is a quality buy!

Review: I was leary at first about getting into the whole mini-disc fad. Thought it might just come and go but after listening to this guy, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that mini-disc is here to stay. The quality and features of the Sharp MDMS722 are unbelieveable. Easy to use too. I looked carefully on-line to find reviews, everyone seemed to like it so I got it and I agree. Amazing! Get the Sharp MDMS722!

Summary: Worth the Green
Review: My MD player/recorder came by mail on saturday afternoon; it is now tuesday. I spent the weekend compiling all of my favorite songs onto MDs and I must say that this product has not disappointed me in the least. I didn't even need to read the manual, just pressing buttons and finding the right plug in holes was enough. The sound I get is better than on a CD, I've heard things on my MD player that I never picked up on the CD player. The main body of the MD player is small enough to fit in my pocket without pulling my pants down (definite plus). The only thing that I did not care for were the headphones... they give you the cheapest kind out there... but otherwise the MD-MT722 is worth every penny.

Summary: wow
Review: Realy quickly, great player/recorder with tons or features! Great for mp3 espacially with my Xitel Storm Platium soundcard since it has digital out! Sharp has made a great product and now includes a quick reference sheet so you dont have to sort through the manual to do something fairly basic. Oh and the little fish that swims and leaves musical notes behind him on the controler is so cool! Buy this item at a great price and you wont be dissappointed!

Summary: High expections, happy with it!
Review: I have a lot of higher end audio gear and expect a lot from my stuff but this thing has exceeded what I expected. I also purchased sonic mics and I recorded a band (w/ permission) at a show, and the shound is almost better than some live albums I've heard. One thing is that the input amp has two settings and as you increase the record gain it switches between the two and this causes a miss, but a minor problem.

I also recorded some CD's for a trip I took and this thing had more battery power than I had patience to listen to it, and the sound was wonderful. Even the bass boost thing which I expected to be trash works super fine.

I wish the remote had recording features but besides that, I'm very happy.

Every sony I've ever had broke, including DSS dishes, CD's, Car stereos, Video cams, etc. Just say No to Sony junk.

Summary: The BEST sound around!
Review: Previous to owning this MD player, I had the Aiwa AM-F70, but it broke down. It had pretty decent sound, but the really bad thing about it was that the DSL (bass level) on the highest level drowned out the rest of the sound completely. I considered this MD as one of my options, and went with it, seeing the reviews. I got it yesterday, boy what a charm! The sound was incredible! I play in a 1-man band with my keyboard...holy crap! It sounded just like a studio recording! The bass does not drown out the treble at all, and it is quite compact (but not the thinnest one on the market though. It's about 1 inch thick, maybe 1 1/2). It's really easy to edit your songs, and recording with one touch of a button. The good thing about it is the slide loading. Aiwa, who did fix the MD (but unfortunately it broke down AGAIN) told us that it was the loading mechanism that was broken & the laser couldn't read right. The slide loading in this thing is a great time saver. Just put it in the front...no openings at all. It also plays MD that have been recorded by my previous player, too (it also read the name stamps on it, which really surprised me). The only con was that the unit didn't have a backlight, but the remote does. All in all, I recommend this MD...it also has a $50 rebate.

P.S. IT DOESN'T SKIP!

Summary: Best handheld, no doubt
Review: This is the obvius choice over MP3, CD portables, or even other MDs. With the SHARP 722 you can buy as many Mini discs as you need, try to get more than 60min out of one MP3 player. Yea you can get some songs from the net for MP3, but not as many as you think. MD you can record from radio, CD, tape, record, run out of room on one of the 74min discs, get a new one. MP3 is antiskip, but guess what, SO IS THE mini disc player. Don't be fooled by the mumbo jumbo about "mine was deffective". The people that got a defect wanted to tell people, but what about the TONS of people that are just fine with theirs? It is well worth the 230 bucks, best there is.

Summary: The Gadget to Get
Review: The sharp 722 is the best mini disc player/recorder without a doubt! it has excelent sound and was my choice after 3 months of research. Every time I saw a review it said that the 722 was the best. If you dont believe me go to Good Guys and listen to it. The reason it sounds so good is because it uses a different decoding processesor unlike sony, aiwa, and jvc which use sony's atrac 4 which sucks! bass is great! the systems a little thick but my friends agree it's better than their sony's. it doesnt have a line out which is evil but the trick remote with full editing is sweet! it's only skipped twice (i bashed it around in my cargos). The biggest downer was when a put it in my back pack and sat on it bending the insert place which now is a 2 hand operation to take the disc out. i have a phillips cd burner but perfer md. So go at it, CD's will be extinct in a couple years. P.S. I'm 13 years oldthis is my secret life trust me!

Summary: Fairly good product...
Review: I bought the Sharp 722 last April (1999) or so and I've had several problems with it. First, the headphones broke (a little tape fixed that). Then someone dropped it or something and the discs wouldn't eject after that. I took it to the place I bought it to get it fixed and it was going to cost $120! Since it was already messed up, and I'm pretty good with electronics, I decided to crack it open (not literally, of course. I carefully unscrewed it) and tryed to fix it myself. It probably voided the warrenty but that didn't matter since it didn't cover the damage anyway. It turns out that the top of the slot was bent down so I just bent it back up. I also fixed the remote wire cause it was coming apart. Also, the jog dial doesn't work sometimes. To fix that I just start spinning the dial around really fast and after about 20 spins it starts working again. Anyway, thats my story and now it works fine. Its easy to use and has many cool features and accesories.
