Summary: The most Brilliant thing ever invented
Review: The Sharp MD-MS722 beats any electronic item I have ever seen or heard of. The size might be a little thick, but the quality, slot- type inserting of Minidiscs, the Jog Dial Control, and the battery life are just everything I could want. I got the player in March, and ever since then it goes everywhere with me. to college, in my car, to parties, everywhere. Only thing I have to say is BUY IT!

Summary: I own a Sony portable, and this one BLEW ME AWAY....
Review: like i said, i own a sony portable, and this player blows me away....the great features (remote with tons of functions, AA battery add-on for up to 16 hours playback and 11 recording, jog dial, tons of editing modes and great recording, etc) along with such a great price just astounds me. this thing sounds SO good....you can hear the echoes across the recording studios and all sorts of little nuances that you'd never heard....i am hearing tons of stuff i had never picked up on before, and this thing goes LOUD without any distortion....and the recording quality is just jaw-dropping. basically, if you are looking for an all-in-one minidisc system, this is it, and with an adapter and digital recording cable included this thing is as versatile as a home deck....simply amazing, forget sony, this player is it....

Summary: Probably the best minidisc player/recorder on the market
Review: I haven't really tried any other minidisc player/recorders, but I have tried the Sharp 702 and this beats it by far. The greatest parts about this unit are the style and unique functions. It is so easy to title and the move function and the rechargeable battery are a great touch. Once you figure out how to record, it is very easy. This is worth every penny, but you can find it cheaper elsewhere online(also, the manufacturer has a $50 rebate now)Definitely the best music player I have ever bought.

Summary: Brilliant for the price!!!
Review: I haven't seen or listend to many mini disc players, but of those I have the sharp 722 must be the best! I listen to my friends 702 and I tested a sony player and wasn't suprised by the sound or the desing. However when I tried out the 722 and I was astonished! The sound was fantastic (ok the headphones are rubbish but I only use my own pair) and the striking desing! This amazed me and if you compare the price with a sony unit it's pretty cheap. The unit also had a nice looking remote from which you were able to control almost every feature. The 722 has many differnt functions to many to mention but they include: an editing function which allows you to name your disc and tracks, a combine and split track funtion, 24bit atrac and many more.So I bought and I am very pleased with the unit and I encourage you to buy it too!!!

Summary: An incredible machine for a good price...
Review: ...the Sharp 722 is all that i could ask for in a CD player replacement. For size, it is the size of about six floppy disks stacked on top of each other. Sound quality is excellent, and control layout is well done. Even the provided headphones are very nice. My only gripe is that the instruction manual's intructions are a little hard to grasp on the first reading (but the unit is easy to use) and you can occasionally here the head in the player moving when you switch songs (but it IS quiet).

Summary: Well rounded recorder/player
Review: I recently bought this recorder/player (not from Amazon - they weren't in the electronics business then) for use to transfer all those bulky cd's to MD format. Unit has a nice long battery life, easy to use, and well made. Highly recommended.

Summary: Almost perfect, but you'll need to buy headphones
Review: A wonderful product. Eleven hours of battery life, a robust slot-in design, and the sound quality of discs I record with it is better than my Sony Discman playing the original CD.

The only downside of this unit is the headphones; the ones you get with it are about as good as you'd expect if you bought them for $2 at a flea market. You'll need to buy another pair, and they'll need to be the same ultra-sensitive kind you need for newer Sony MiniDisc recorders; otherwise you'll need some sort of add-on headphone amp, like the Boostaroo.

I really wish Sharp had given the output stage a bit more power, so it could drive a normal pair of headphones. If they'd done that and put in a pair worth more than $2, I'd have given the unit five stars.

Summary: This is a great unit
Review: I bought the 722 back in May. I'm surprised that Amazon is in the electronics market now and that they have this baby for such a competitively good price. The 722 itself is by far the best player/recorder available. It has the best combination of battery usage (10 hours playback/8 hours record plus it can recharge while it plays) and ergonomics (your fingers will be thanking you for that jog dial if you like to title your tracks). You can't go wrong with this unit. Try to get an extended warranty plan if you can, as the older 702s imported from Japan had a history of problems. I think the US models are fine. The 722 beats out anything currently on the market, including the Sony R55 (by a mile) and the Aiwa F70 (closer race).

Summary: crummy track record
Review: I've had my MD player for about 2 and a half years. It has been mostly reliable throughout these years. The remote clip broke off about 6 months ago, which is no big deal, and the jog dial has been working on and off for the past year. Two unnecessary but very helpful functions. Recently, I went to switch discs, and it would not come out. The front part seems to be caved in. I am going to try to fix it, but I'm not sure if I can. I've used it quite a bit, and I have been extremely happy with it. However, it is quite large and is kind of annoying to record from the internet and anywhere else. I suggest this product if you do not mind the heavier and bigger player, but other wise it's great. I would maybe suggest a newer MDLP recorder that can record much more onto a disc. Good luck!
