Summary: Great mini device for recording and playing digitally.
Review: The MZ-R37 has better recording capabilities than I imagined when using the Sony digital microphone (stereo, approx. $100). The placement of the control buttons on the unit is somewhat inconvenient: however, they work well when the unit is in a small case or pocket during recording.The 40 sec anti-skip is only for sudden bumps - don't try to jog with this machine. The clooapsible headphones are a plus, and the remote is easy to use. You will need to purchase a mini to mini cord for recording from another source, unless it'a a device that has an optical output. Overall, this is a great machine.

Review: The MZ-R37 is just perfect. I've had it for 6 days and it has amazed me how such a small device can record anything I want, from whatever source I want, with a CD quality. The device itself and the MiniDiscs are perfect for traveling. Throw away your walkmans and discmans, buy the MZ-R37 here at Amazon

Review: The MZ-R37 sony mini disc player/recorder is great! I just got it and know everything about already! Easy to use, very smart remote, and if your thinking of getting mp3 DON'T! This mini Disc can record from the headphone jack of any type of player. You do have to buy a cord which cost me $4.99$ big deal. If you don't know if you should get this product or not GET IT. Also perfect for joggers and runners cause it hasn't skipped once YET!

Summary: Great Concept but not for joggers
Review: The product works wonderfully for all but the family jogger. Despite the"shock resistent" description on the product, a jogger can not use this great concept (the device skips). This is disappointing given the large number of joggers. The problem of developing a useful device for joggers remains to be solved.

Summary: The best Mini Disc I've Seem
Review: The Sony Mz-R37 is easy to use and very portable. The buttons are easily accessible and the remotes editing functions make titling, deleting, moving tracks on the mini disc easy. The remote allows you to keep your mini disc in its case and still make use of track searching, stopping, and adjusting the volume. I do reccomend that you buy a cable with stereo mini jacks on both sides so you can record from devices that don't have the optical output. This will also allow you to record directly from a portable cd player. The player also includes recharble batteries that have good battery life and can be charged in the mini disc player usding the supplies power adaptor. I strongly recommend that you purchase this mini disc player from Amazon.com like I did. Amazon.com is $50 cheaper than Best Buy and even $100 cheaper than some other stores.

Summary: A Great Unit and Well Thought Out !!!
Review: This is a fabulous little minidisc recorder. It performs well and seems to have all the features that you need to a good job. Don't let the size fool you. It is small, but packed with what you need. Makes great recordings. The optical feature is a major plus and this unit is very versatile. Durable, and will serve you well. Read the manual first and then walk through it step by step. The fidelity is unbelievable. The SONY brand is the one to buy. They have it all figured out and the prompts on the unit are logical. Also, get the remote control. It is easier to operate the unit overall. It's [money] , but worth it. I haven't seen a product by SONY that I did not like.

Do not mistake these for the cheaper Sony portable audio products that seem to be geared for teenagers. This is a sophisticated, well-made device. It comes with a folding headset, Sony Nickel Cadmium rechargeable batteries, remote control, power adapter, and an optical cable. The unit has the capability to recharge the batteries when it is plugged in to an outlet. For recordings, I suggest using the power adapter instead of running on battery power. An excellent Sony product. I highly recommend it if you can find it here or ebay. I have been using and enjoying mine for over 2 years.

Summary: Little Mini Disc Power House
Review: This is by far one of the best electronic purchases that I have ever made. This model is easy and fun to use. I bought this Mini Disc player/recorder because I needed something to listen to at work, but didn't want a tape player due to the fact that one has to stop working to flip the tape all the time. I can put a lot of music and audio books on one mini disc. It is built like a tank and I can recharge the batteries without taking the batteries out. I got the recharge batteries and A/C power adapter at Radio Shack. Recording from my stereo is a snap. I can't understand why Mini Disc players and mini discs aren't more accepted here in the U.S.A. The advantages mini discs have over CD's are huge.

Summary: A Whole New World
Review: This makes listening to music on the go a joy rather than a chore. The size is small the sound quality is excellent and the recording quality is even better. I don't know why it took me so long to figure out the pros of owning an MD player, especially this one.
