Rating: Summary: Quick Bluetooth Operability, v1 not the one to get. Review: (...)P>The Belkin F8T001 did what I wanted it to do, whichwas move images from my phone to my PC without pulling the MMC card. It found my phone, clear across the house! 100-meter range means I can drop pictures on my PC from my garage if I wanted. The software bundle is very, VERY short on documentation but big on function: everything works as advertised.I'm withholding two stars for these reason, though. 1) the aforementioned lack of value in the documentation, and 2) the disappointment I have in not being able to browse my phone directly (would've been nice to pull *all* my pictures from the phone rather than pushing each one to the PC). This is largely due to Nokia's PC Suite not being configured correctly, but also the Byzantine manner in which you must configure Bluetooth to make it work. Note that this adapter has two versions, v1 being the "flag antenna" version and v2 being the "silver bullet" version. Drivers for v1 are not very current, although www.bluwireless.com is available for registered users. In conclusion, while v2 might be a solid choice, I would recommend the Linksys USBBT100 over this adapter for first-timers.Fred
Rating: Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A PC!!! Review: A complete f*^king joke. I'm a systems administrator and have been for a few years now and I cannot even get this to work. I had a D-Link which gave me minor trouble, but worked after only minimal tweaking, but returned it and bought the Belkin ON A NOKIA'S TECH SUPPORT REP'S ADVICE. Now that I'm having trouble getting it pair with my Nokia 3650, Nokia claims they never told me that (BIG FAT LIARS). AT&T wouldn't help and neither would Belkin. Their tech support departments should be renamed to "Take your money and then play stupid and offer no help." A complete waste of your hard-earned money. I repeat - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A PC!!! I repeat - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A PC!!! I repeat - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A PC!!! I repeat - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A PC!!! I repeat - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A PC!!!
Rating: Summary: A complete dream... if you own a mac Review: Another reason why macs are awesome when it comes to input devices. I bought this USB adapter solely for my new AT&T Sony Ericsson T68i, and I've never touched my mMode kilobytes to download ringtones and backgrounds. The only reason that it doesn't get 5 stars is because you still have to tinker with settings but those are fairly simple, and yes its hard to set up with PC's, but other than that you'll be up and running after you get through those quarks. This USB adapter's strength is awesome because I have an oddly shaped room, and even if my phone is behind me on the other side, I can still sync them together. I've just purchased an HP printer thats bluetooth enabled and it works wonders, don't even have to use my network to get it up and printing. I tried using this with my PC and its totally not communicating with it, the previous critic is right, its just another port. But I won't shun it away because the mac makes it a device you can't live without. If you have a mac, get this, you'll be glad you did when you start investing in bluetooth devices.

Rating: Summary: Indispensable Review: Arrived next day even though used supersaver shipping !! It's the F8T001 (100m range) just as I'd hoped (wasn't sure but ordered anyway). Computer recognized it right away. Synchronizing is a breeze with iSync and a mac; merged my T68i contacts with address book in seconds. What's more, I can now control my computer from anywhere in my apartment with my T68i phone thanks to the "clicker" software. Can control iTunes (tracks and volume) and DVD player (so I can watch movies in bed) - absolutely fanstastic!! Inseperable part of my mac now..... (minus one star because it's a little bulkier than other adapters especially with adjustable antenna; covers adjacent USB port on my iBook but ok for keyboard of my power mac - guess that's the price for a 100m range).
Rating: Summary: Transform your PC into a BLUETOOTH machine!! Review: Bluetooth is a very splendid thing! Now with its exposure of its versatility, this little gadget is just was Bluetooth lovers have been loving for, but didn't know existed!
THE PROS.......
1. Small and Portable. This adapter is about the size of a large paperclip. It comes with a little cover to protect its connection just in case you need to remove it from your PC sometimes.
2. Easily recognized. This adapter was found the moment I connected it to my laptop. **I have Windows XP**
3. Works better than my cell phone's suite! For transfering photos, ringtones and MP3s onto my Sony K700i cell, it works faster and better than the actual suite that came with my phone!!
4. Blue blinking LCD light lets you know that its working.
5. Allows you to connect to all Bluetooth-enabled electronics. Presently my Palm Pilot and cell phone are recognized and work very well with this Belkin product. NEXT: I'm going to get a Bluetooth-enabled printer, and I am GOOD to GO->>>
THE CONS ..........
1. Limited Help manual. The booklet that comes with this product is very small and doesnt include a "How-To-Do" section for what I initially wanted out if it, which is to set up my Networking and use my cell phone as my modem. I am still trying to figure it out. ( SO presently, my phone line's the only wire I have connected to my lappy!!)
Oh well...maybe you know how to do it!!!
But beside that, and until I figure this out, I am very satisfied with everything else I can accomplish nevertheless.
Rating: Summary: Quick Bluetooth Operability, on PCs too. Review: Can't say I could compare this adapter to any other Bluetooth adapter, since it's my first one. I have a Nokia 3650 Phone with about thirty pictures on it, and I needed to move them quickly and easily. Well, the Belkin F8T001 does what I wanted it to do: it found my phone, clear across the house! 100-meter range means I can drop pictures on my PC from my garage if I wanted. The software bundle is very, VERY short on documentation but big on function: everything works as advertised. If I'm withholding a star, it's for the aforementioned lack of value in the documentation, and the slight disappointment I have in not being able to browse my phone directly (would've been nice to pull *all* my pictures from the phone rather than pushing each one to the PC). Still, this tiny adapter is designed well, with a clean form and clever antenna. Critics decrying a lack of PC-ability have been contradicted herein: this works on my AthlonXP 2800+ system, and I'm a happy owner.
Rating: Summary: Hated it! Review: Couldn't make it work no matter what I did, but the worst part was the customer service, or lack thereof, at Belkin.com. They were condescending and the information given was not helpful at all. Would not recommend this product to anyone based on the complete lack of technical support alone.
Rating: Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE A PC! Review: DO NOT BUY THIS ADAPTER FOR A PC. While the adapter might be OK the included WIDCOMM software is terrible and the tech support is a joke. After 3 days of trying to get it to work all I can get is "Incorrect License Type" and "Bluetooth stack service could not be started". I know this is the WIDCOMM software because I had the same problem with the Kensington Bluetooth USB adapter which uses the same WIDCOMM software. One Belkin tech support rep actually told me to format my harddrive and reinstall WindowsXP ?!?!?!? What a joke and he was completely serious. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! also do not buy the Kensington Bluetooth USB adapter which is even worse. I am a software engineer and have 20 years of PC experience and I have never encountered such a terrible combo of device and software.
Rating: Summary: I love it Review: I bought this adapter during my lunch break. In my office I installed the software that was very easy to find on the Belkin website. During installation I was asked to connect the adapter to my computer. I followed the instruction exactly as prompted on my laptop. Less than 2 minutes later the adapter was installed and I was syncing my Ericsson T610 with my outlook 2002. This adapter also found another computer equiped with Bluetooth on my floor. As for you mr Admin up there stop lying you dont know what you are doing. I very highly recommend this Bluetooth USB adapter and in fact I am going to buy another one for home.
