Rating: Summary: Works 99.44% of the time. Review: A year ago I moved to a new location with a better quality TELCO connection. I am unable to use Cable or DSL right now as it is unavailable in my area or too expensive. I have had experience with a lot of 56K modems , both ISA hardware and PCI or winmodem types. This modem delivers consistently higher connection speeds than any other modems I have tried. Recently I purchased a USR Courier V.everything 56K ISA modem and decided to try it against the Modem Blaster...The Modem Blaster was almost always 3 to 5 K better in connection speed so , you guessed it.. I went back to the Best modem I have owned in 10 years. The Courier is supposed to be the best of the best.Buy the Modem Blaster ...save $$$$.
Rating: Summary: Recommended for Linux users Review: I bought this modem for use with my Linux box. I have been using Linux since three years ago but I couldn't connect to the Internet after my Actiontec Desktalk crashed. Now I'm on the road again using my Linux Mandrake 7.1 system. I tried several times to set it up without disabling the PnP feature, by testing it with isapnptools and setserial packages, but it didn't work. So I disabled the PnP feature and I was immediately on the road. If you want to use it with a dual OS system (Lin and Win) you will need to set it up manually under Windows, but after configure the jumpers properly you should have no problem. I am really satisfied with this purchase. The modem is really fast and the most important is I can use it under my favorite operating system.
Rating: Summary: The Best ISA Modem Ever Used Review: I've had this modem for awhile now, there is definitely a difference between a cheap winmodem and a hardware modem. The connection is fast and stable and I reach speeds of 50k+. The setup was also a breeze, and it also has onboard juppers to manually change the comports. At first I wasn't sure if Creative made good modems, but now I'm convinced, not only do they make good sound cards, their modems are also top-notched and resonably priced. If you need a solid modem for a cheaper price than 3com's, look no further than the Modem Blaster. It works great in Win98 + WinME and never had a problem yet.
Rating: Summary: This card kicks some Review: If you can't buy an external modem, buy this card.Number one reason: It does indeed work with those "other operating systesm" (Linux, *BSD, etc.) Number two reason: The software that it comes with makes a pretty cool answering machine under Windows. Number three reason: It is a solid piece of hardware that does indeed get excellent connection speeds on a good line.
Rating: Summary: Standard Modem Review: If your looking for reliability, then this is the modem for you. Now it is a little out of date, so look else where for speed. BE careful, some new computers don't come with a ISA slot, so you will not be able to use this card. If you looking to replace a old modem, then look no further. This is the best choice at a good price.
Rating: Summary: The best modem at an the lowest cost! Review: Looking for a great fast 56k V.90 modem at a reasonable price? So was I and thats when I found this baby! This Sound Blaster ISA modem works just as well as a PCI model because the difference in the ISA slot and PCI slot is that a PCI slot is better for sound and graphics. When it comes to data transfer a ISA slot will work best and using the low graphic and sound ISA slot is ideal for a modem. Don't waste your money on an expensive PCI modem or a Win-modem which will rob your computers resources. I will not go over the specs the of this thing in my review because if your reading this I am sure you read what this wonderfull modem can do! I use this modem for everything and it is reliable and FAST. Trust me this is a good buy......

This has got to be the best preforming modem I have ever used, Peroid. Auto detecting between V.90 or K56Flex thru your ISP is Powerful, I see a 25%kbs increace with mine. The Modem Blaster's drivers were a breeze to install and for those of you that like to turn the sound down or off this Modem lets you. I could go on and on and on.......
Rating: Summary: Creative The Ultimate In Sound & Now In Communications : ) Review: This is the ultimate modem. Firstly it's hardware based so it does not drain system resources or make your surfing experience a slow nightmare. Secondly it gives you flexibility. The modem comes equiped with jumpers so that if need be, you can tweak the hardware just the way you want it. Simply put there is no more flexible or powerful modem available. This is the pinacle of MODEMS.
Rating: Summary: This card kicks some Review: This modem kicks high gear. I bought it to put in my Win98 system. It is a hardware based modem, so it's supposed to be faster & I play some on-line games. Boy is it fast. I have never connected below 46K. Here's the great part: it has Jumpers! It's the only modem I could find w/ jumpers. It works in my new Linux system. The other cool part is a connector to use your soundcard w/ the modem so you don't need cheeesy speakers for speakerphone & voice. Highest Rating. IT ROCKS & it's worth the xtra $30 to stay away from an ISA Winmodem.
