Review: I recently lost the internal modem of my G4 tower to an untimely lightning strike. Seeing as the machine was off warranty I could have brought it in for [an expensive] bench charge or simply bought an external. I chose the latter.

Well, when it arrived, I was aghast to see that it was ancient! It is -- get this -- SERIAL. The last time an Apple shipped with a serial port, Bill Clinton was savoring his re-election victory.

Now I need to buy an adaptor so I can actually use this beige hunk o-junk. If it cost me [more money] with shipping & taxes? No way.
