Rating: Summary: TRENDware Bluetooth USB Adapter - Their Tech Support is Bad Review:
I bought this item thinking that it will be a plug and play considering XP will recognize it....well I was very wrong.
I am using it to synch my laptop with my bluetooth Sony Ericsson P800 bluetooth supported mobile phone.
I spent at least more than 4 hours trying to install it on my XP (SP2).
My biggest problem was the COM ports would not synch and there seemed to be a conflict. I decided to call their tech support, and some moron on the other line told me there to switch the COM ports from the assigned 6 to 9 & 10. Nothing worked. he had no more suggestions nor did he run a few options for me. The dongle would not work.
I also sent a few emails AND THEY NEVER ANSWERED. I hate it when you buy someones product and they dont even give you the time of the day.
At the end, after I was about to return this product I decided to research the forums on the net. Finally, I found the right answer (...AND THE ANSWER DID NOT COME FROM THEIR OWN TECH SUPPORT who obviously knew less than me)
Anyway, to cut the long story short, the problem was that you need to go to START then Control Panel + Phone Monitor + and then enable the COM ports assigned by this dongle (check in your case, mine was 6). Voila, it worked !
And the answer came from someone in a Forum, and not from their site, or their FAQ, or from me calling the tech morons there.
Anyway, Try another product.! I would not recommend this product to anyone, even thought at the end it worked for me. I wasted many hours on them. Not worth it. I recommend you not to buy it.
Rating: Summary: Does not work with Nokia 3650 PC Suite Review: Although I have been able to connect via Blue Tooth, using the Trendware Adapter, and transfer pictures from my 3650 to me PC, the Trendware device does not appear to work with the Nokia PCSuite software which allows transfer of address information (business cards) etc.I have tried to find out if the Trendware device is SPP compatible (required for PCSuite) but found their Technical Support web site to be down.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Even though the price is cheap, this bluetooth adapter delivers. I bought it from Amazon.com (with free shipping, it took merely two days to be delivered!). It comes with a free USB extension cable in case it won't fit into your hub/computer with wires next to it (it is rather wide, but the extension cable more than makes up for it). The range is good: about the standard 10 meters (it has full range over the room that it's in). Integration with Mac OS X is superb; it's merely plug and play for Macs, though I assume it is a lot less easy/reliable with Windows computers. The one down point of Bluetooth is its low transfer rates: with it interfacing with my Sony Ericsson T616, it has an average bandwidth of 4KB/s. I suspect that it is the phone's fault (as it's not necessary to have very high bandwidth for such small files). Bluetooth's official rate is about 90 KB/s, so this is vastly underperforming. However, due to the cheap price, free cable, and reliability of the TRENDware Bluetooth USB adapter, I give it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone with a Mac looking for a decent, cheap way to become Bluetooth-enabled.
Rating: Summary: Works well, when it works... Review: Got this thing to sync my Sony Ericson P800 phone. It works for the most part but, in a round about sort of way. Typically, it tells you the connection failed but, then immediately afterwards in another pop up, says it established a connection. Other times I have had to reboot my computer before a connection could be established. I have also had to reinstall the driver on several occasions even though I had not made any changes to my system. It just seems to poop out after a couple of months.
Otherwise, when it does make a connection which is about 90% of the time, it works very well.
Rating: Summary: Doubts about this product Review: I am afraid of bying this product. I am "needing" a bluetooth adapter to connect my Nokia 3650 with my Pentium. Reading the reviews of other adapters I realize I can't buy any type of this advice. Many people are having trouble trying to connect their mobile phones with computers. I've read only 2 reviews about this Trendware adapter, and even though they rate it good, the computer system used is a MAC OS X (mine is a PC Win200), and the cell phone is a Sony Ericsson. And more, the price is too good to trust so quick.

Rating: Summary: Good product Review: I bought it for my Sony-Ericsson t610 and it works great. Easy to install and use. Recommended.
Rating: Summary: Works! Review: I bought the product based on one of the reviews on amazon. I liked the product because of the following reason: a) easy installation b) I have t616 sony ericsson and it was able to synchronize with it without any extra software needed from sonyericsson site. c)very lightweight and sleek. d) great price I did not verify the speed it's synchronizing with t616 but it seems fine. some useful tips: 1) After installing bluetooth in your machine, it's going to show you a bluetooth icon. when you are not using your bluetooth connection, right click on the icon and stop the blutooth device to save power. 2) Right click on the icon will show you bluethooth configuration link, go and setup to communicate with your intended device only to protect your computer from unauthorized use.
Rating: Summary: What an excellent product/price! Review: I bought this hoping it would work with my mac even though reviewers said it would I couldn't understand why the manufacturer did not say it would. Anyway, plug and play pretty much. I had to do a couple of minutes of configuring, but I haven't had to think about it since and the range is way better than my other non-bluetooth wireless devices. I will never buy another wireless device that doesn't use this technology.
Rating: Summary: Worked fine until... Review: I got mine less than a month ago. I bought it because I read other reviews and I thought it would be the perfect complement for my SET610. First two weeks, great wonderful. Then something happened. From time to time my computer said "bluetooth device not found". I guess it overheated or something, because I unplugged it for about 15 minutes and plugged it back again, and it worked fine again. It was annoying. Now this weekend it suddenly stopped working at all. It was a major disappointment. I'm sending it back. I guess it's not a bad product. I was just unlucky, but I'll choose another one.
Trend brand lost a customer.
