Summary: I GAINED A MEGABIT PER SECOND!
Review: My Cox @home cable connection was installed in 1998, and I've been leasing the same modem (Motorola) since then. I decided to ditch that monthly lease fee and try this Best modem. Man, you better be sitting down: My connection was really good to begin with. DSLreports speed test showed me at 2.1Mb/sec down, 190kb/sec up. And I was downloading a Red Hat Linux 7.2 image from an FTP site and getting about 2Mb/sec. After that completed, I installed the new modem, called @home and had them set the new MAC and I was off. I nearly fell out of my chair when I checked the speed on DSLreports using this new modem. 3.32Mb/sec down and 286kb/sec up!!!!!!!! I downloaded the second Red Hat 7.2 disk at 2.8Mb/sec! All Hail Best Data Products! I know these results can't be typical, but maybe others out there using the first generation Motorola cable modems will experience similar gains. Later.

Summary: Under rated Cable Modem
Review: This cable modem is much faster and fights internet slowdowns much better then my Toshiba PCX1100U, which I stopped using after the "Worm" attacked the internet 2 weeks ago. My Toshiba started slowing down my connection a lot(Toshiba is possibly the most famous cable modem provider out there)and the Data button was always blinking due to the slow down. And it was almost a year old and I use the internet a lot for my website. I recieved this 4 days ago, and I am impressed. The worm is still out there but it doesnt have much effect on this. I previously hadnt heard of Best Data Products, but now I am extremely impressed. Buy this modem if the one your cable company provides is having problems. Or ask your company if they can provide these as a replacement.Very good modem, a must buy for speed junkies.

Summary: Excellent choice to replace rental
Review: Replaced my 3Com Sharkfin with the CMX110. Hooked it up and called AT&T, gave her the MAC address and the serial #. Unplugged it for a few minutes per her instructions, plugged it back in and was up and running. Went out and got the cable modem tweak and ran tests on DSLreports.com....this modem smokes the 3Com. I'm happy with it and it will pay for itself in 8 months. A no-brainer especially with the rebate.

Summary: Easy replacement for leased AT&T 3Com modem in St Paul, MN
Review: I had been looking for a cheap replacement so I could save the $10 per month lease from AT&T. I had my doubts that it would work after reading some of the reviews for this and other brands of cable modem. But I was able to swap it with no problems what so ever. One thing I will note is that the setup software tells you to look for the 'cable ready' LED to be lite. Make sure you give the unit some time to communicate with the cable company. That cable LED will not come on right away like the power and LAN will. The instructions should have noted that possible delay.
After I hooked it up I checked dslreports.com and got a 1.6Mps connection when in the pass I never got close to 1Mps. That may be coincidental but regardless, I'm happy!

Summary: Couldn't be better
Review: This cable modem couldn't have been easier or better. I have had it for almost a year, and it was worked every day with not one glitch. Speeds are fantastic. I check the speed using broadband measuring tools (like at 2wire.com), frequently, and the modem has performed consistently above the level I expect with my contract. (of course speeds are mostly determined by the cable company and the number of people on my part of the system). A quality piece of equipment!
