Review: Quite simply one of the easiest installations for your computer today. Literally remove from box, hook to cable line, plug into the computer, call cable company, and 5 minutes later done.
Company needs the MAC address of the modem, which is supplied nearly everywhere you look in the box. Takes roughly 5 minutes for the company to enter the MAC address and have the system recognize your new modem. And finished. Period. It's that easy.

Review: Rarely does one deal with hardware that is hassle-free. God bless the people at Toshiba for developing this lightning fast gem. If you already have a cable modem rented from your ISP as I did, setup should be no more than powering down your equipment, reconnecting the wires to the new modem, powering up your equipment, and telling your ISP the MAC ID of the new modem. Toshiba makes the MAC ID easily available all over the place. It's on the box, on the modem itself, and also comes on three handy stickers that you can do what you please with. That's it. I should also mention that the connection speed seems noticeably better, not that it was bad before. I haven't clocked it though so this is nothing more than subjective speculation. Either way you will be happy you bought this modem.

Review: That's the best thing you can say about a modem--it always works.I previously leased the same model [only difference was it was horizontal instead of vertical] and never had a problem with it either. According to my local AT&T cable modem tech, he recommended this model as the best for use with Mac as well. Only minor complaint is that it doesn't have any power switch--ust the usual plug in the back. Now if only other equipment worked this reliably.....

Summary: Great Until it Dies
Review: The reason I'm on here is I'm looking for a replacement to mine, the one I was renting from Cox, which died after about 5 months- of course, who knows how long it was used by someone else. But it's not the first time a Toshiba product has acted up in our house. I'm going to try a different manuf.

Review: This is a very good modem. I got the internet provider from Charter and I never used their modem that they give you so I cannot compare the modems. It was very easy to install and it installed in about 5 min. There was no problems and once it was all plugged in and installed everything was fine. No problems. I really like this modem. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and nothing has gone bad yet. I used to have Dsl and it was really slow so I switched to cable. I do not regret switching because this modem and cable works very well
