Review: I've had this cable modem for 8 months now, and have never had a problem with it. I also highly recommend using cable for your internet connection -- my connection is lightening fast -- and is faster than both my T1 at work and the DSL I've seen.

Summary: works fine with Comcast!
Review: A few months ago, after being switched from Excite @Home to Comcast, I decided to buy a cable modem instead of using a rented one. I was initially concerned that the new modem may not be compatible with the Comcast service but my fears were unwarranted. I called Comcast, gave them the MAC ID and other info. They told me to wait a day before installing the modem to give them time to get the new modem info into their system. A day later, I installed the new modem. It worked from the outset and hasn't given me a bit of trouble.

Summary: Rebate from the manufacturer is a gimmck
Review: ...The modem works o.k.,but the promised rebate has not been received from the manufacturer even though I followed the instructions to the letter to get the rebate. The rebate is a gimmick and trying to get it is a headache. If you do not mind getting the rebate, just go for it. Otherwise, you have to call the manufacturer and spend all the time waiting in vain for the rebate.

Summary: Cheap and effective
Review: I bought this cable modem for one reason: It was the cheapest one I could find on my cable company's approved list. Since I have a network card in my computer, I didn't see any reason to pay more for a cable modem with USB... I called the cable company, gave them the MAC address, and I was online in about five minutes...

inspite of the bad reviwes in the past on best data,
I had this working in half hour.I only bought it for
its low price.usually I do go for items like toshiba.
but I hear one of the better manufactures made this modem.

Summary: Easy to setup. No On/Off button. Holds the old RAS.
Review: Very easy to set it up, good operation, and no overheating. Supported by Cox. As it was already pointed out in another review it doesn't have an On/Off button. Also it holds to the old RAS in memory and if you would like to connect a different machine, DHCP process would fail and you won't be able to get an IP, unless you cycle it off -- by unplugging the cord since there is no On/Off button.

Review: I don't know if it was my cable company, or the modem, but the second I had this modem up and running, I had flaws uploading, I could no longer email anything with an attatchment, and it wasnt a software problem, anyways I purchased a different modem and it worked fine, so I dont know if its not compatible or what, but I don't find it reliable, and others I have spoken to have had similar problems.

Review: I bought this CMX110 to replace my rented RCA cable modem from ATTBI. I had no problems getting ATTBI to enter it into their system (just a quick visit to the local ATTBI office).Yes, it was fast, although I'm not sure if it was faster than the RCA device was. My service is 1500 kbps down/320 kbps up and the modem handled that just fine (187KB/sec was seem often enough). Unfortunately the modem just died yesterday with the yellow test lamp on. BestData's tech support number (long distance mind you) had me in queue for about 20-25 minutes, and couldn't do advance replacement (using credit card as collateral)...
