Rating: Summary: Love dem track balls Review: My third one and all three are still working. This one took a little more getting used to than past ones and tweaking the software for it but after doing that I have to say this one is my favorite. It is easier to "de-gunk" than earlier version and after the tweaking is responsive just how I like it. If you own a regular mouse, you have my sympathy.
Rating: Summary: Best product on the market Review: Personally, I hate trackballs and prefere the good old fashioned mouse any day. I recieved this trackball as a present from my father since my mouse has broken. I was going to deal with it till I could get a new mouse. I loved it!! I would never use anything else, trackball or mouse! For the price it is really nice. A great gaming mouse too. The USB version is great on my PS2. This is really a great item and I would recommend it to the grave!
Rating: Summary: The search for the ideal pointing device ends here. Review: The Logitech Marble Mouse is possibly THE most intelligently designed pointing device on the market. First of all, in spite of its name, it's a trackball, the superior successor to the computer mouse. Unlike a mouse, it sits in one place and your fingers guide the pointer. You click on menu selections, icons and such with your thumb. It takes mere minutes to get used to this method of moving around the screen but after you do, using a mouse will seem cumbersome and quaint (which it is). Beneath that black-dotted burgundy ball lies the secret of the Marble Mouse's responsiveness, longevity and reliability. An infrared emitter and optical pickup track the movement of the ball, not mechanical rollers which quickly become gunked up with skin oils and dust. You'd have to let a really thick layer of crud accumulate on the ball before you'll see an impact on the Marble Mouse's performance. Unlike its more expensive siblings, the Trackman Marble and Trackman Marble FX, the Marble Mouse is fully ambidextrous, with equal-sized buttons on both sides. And recently, Logitech added enhanced software to their website, enabling the 2-button Marble Mouse to behave like a 3-button mouse (you press BOTH buttons together to access the functions of a third button). Finally, though the purchase price might seem steep in comparison to the $5 mouse you could pick up at the nearest Best Buy or CompUSA, just recall how many of those inexpensive little rodents you've owned in the course of a single year. ! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! The phenomenal success of the Logitech Marble Mouse has spawned all sorts of imitators, all of which use inferior mechanical roller technology. INSIST ON THE ORIGINAL! NONE GENUINE WITHOUT THE MARBLE!
Rating: Summary: Optical technology works, and works well! Review: This device is designed for people with limited desk space, appealing to those who want trouble-free operation and accurate response. This product works well across the board, with it's very acceptable accuracy and ambidextrous design. It works well with games, as well as everyday apps.
Rating: Summary: This trackball is great! Review: This very affordable trackball is a terrific alternative to a mouse. It took me just a day or so to get used to it -- the factory settings made it a bit more sensitive than I'd like -- but now that I have it all set up and got accustomed to it, I like it much better than a mouse. It also seems to hold up very well under less than terrific conditions.
Rating: Summary: Simply the best trackball Review: While I have owned a number of trackballs, I have not found one yet that is as simple and easy to use as the Logitech Marble mouse. It is immediately recognized by Windows, and works without additional software or drivers. The best feature in my opinion is the fact that it can be used by left-hand or right-handed users. So many trackballs are made to work only for right-handed people, which I am not. While they work fine for my wife, they are difficult for me to handle. But the Marble mouse works for us both! It is easy to clean, and very comfortable to use. If you don't have one, get one today!
Rating: Summary: confusing name Review: works perfectly. maker did not use the word trackball in the name for smoother marketing to mouse users but unit may be overlooked because of it. i gave 4 as gifts & they all use them.
