Rating: Summary: Old habits never die Review: I found this device to be much harder to get used to than originally thought. The trackball was in an odd position which I did not find at all comfortable. I have fairly large hands and still found it difficult to use the buttons which were also very difficult to get used to. Most of all I missed having my scroll wheel in the middle. I have over the years become very accustomed to that feature and did not like the way this device works around this button. It was however sensitive with its tracking and felt comfortable except when I had to use it. It was also fairly easy to setup although WIN XP gave me a little trouble at first recognizing the drivers the device came with. Also the price I found was a bit high after using it which between the comfort and price along with my middle scroll wheel button earned its rating.
Rating: Summary: Very comfortable to use Review: I had never used a trackball for any long period of time before using this one. That was because all of the other trackballs that I have tried seem a lit akward to control. The Logitech Cordless Trackman FX Optical Trackball solves this problem by placing the ball between your thumb and fingers allowing you to be able to use either your thumb or your fingers to control the pointer. This made it a lot less akward for me to use than other trackballs, especially for more precise movement. The trackball also has several buttons that can be programmed to perform a variety of tasks. These buttons are placed conveniently and are comfortable to use. The only drawback that I found was I think it could have offered a better method of wrist support.

Rating: Summary: GREAT!! Review: I would have to say that initially, this mouse takes a little bit of time to get used to, (not too long, but some time), but I will not give it up. The options you have as far as customizing the commands/buttons and accuracy of the trackball are superb. I have co-workers that have switched over after just trying mine out for an hour or two. Have one @ all three of my stations!!

Rating: Summary: This is the trackball for me Review: I've had this trackball for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I have small hands, so I was worried that the ball would be too big. In the past I've always used a Microsoft trackball that had a tiny ball in it. I work a lot of hours on the computer and ergonomics are an absolute must for me. This trackball fits the bill. The shape of it is strange at first, but my hand cups over it more naturally than any other mouse type product I've ever used. I also love having four buttons! They're programmable so you can set them up any way you'd like. The design and position of the ball allows you to use your thumb for control, or any of your other four fingers on the opposite side. When I first started using it I actually used all fingers for better control. I like a sensitive trackball, but I found that this one is the most sensitive I've ever used. With others, I would have to set my mouse speed as high as it would go to get the sensitivity I wanted. With this trackball, I had to set it at a medium speed instead, because high is *really* sensitive. In short, I love this trackball and expect to use it for years to come.
Rating: Summary: BETTER than the cordless OPTICAL MOUSE!!! Review: Very nice design, sturdy, comfortable, and most importantly it controls the cursor very smoothly and accurately! I've also tried the Logitech cordless OPTICAL MOUSE, but for some reason, it is not as accurate as this and will skip often -- try moving the wireless optical MOUSE very quickly with sudden change in directions, and you'll see something isn't natural (but the optical TRACKBALL won't skip like this!). The Logitech FX Optical Trackball controls the mouse cursor very smoothly and ACCURATELY (I say it is better than a corded mouse) even with quick sudden movements. I think/suspect that it's because of the fixed pattern laid out on the trackball so the optical camera can better detect movements; if you move an optical MOUSE on a glossy (one solid color) surface, you'll see that the mouse cursor just SITS there when you move the mouse (u see what I mean, right? I'm telling you the optical trackball actually works better than the mouse!). I like the way the large trackball is placed right where my index and middle fingers are. It is much easier to control than using just your thumb. I use those two fingers to control my handwriting, so this design feels very comfortable for me. The only drawback is that it does not have a good scrolling wheel. Well, you can assign/program two of the four buttons to do this, but a wheel is much better. No big deal though. The single battery you place in it literally lasts for months without skipping -- I use the cordless trackball about 4-5 ft away from the computer/receiver unit. I dropped this mouse several times from my chair armrest to a hard wooden floor. Worked fine each time afterwards. I knocked it down from the top of my raised 19" monitor to the hard wooden floor about 4-5 feet down! I thought it was dead for sure. I have a tiny little scratch, but the unit still works great! And that's when I decided to write this review. What can I say, this is superb quality.
