Rating: Summary: Trackball good for applications but not for games... Review: This mouse has a very natural feel to it and I really like it. It works great with all of my programs except one. And that one program happens to be the greatest one to date, Quake III Arena. The trackball mouse tends to lock up during the game and in face paced games like Quake III this can mean the difference between life and death. Otherwise it's worth the money Unless you own Quake III arena)
Rating: Summary: Get the New Optical Trackball Review: Though I have not seen it on Amazon yet, MS has released an Optical Trackball that far exceeds the functionality of this one. Note: I have used this trackball and have been very happy (see my other reveiw on this product). However, I would spend (and have spent) the extra [money] and get the new Optical TB. First, the "ball" is operated by the thumb which I prefer and there are 4 buttons, 1 wheel and good software that allows the programming of the buttons for a variety of features. However, buttons 3 and 4 are small slivers located next to buttons 1 and 2 making it too easy to hit buttons 1 & 3, or 2 & 4 at the same time. Moreover, the device feels a little flimsy. However, I have been completely satsified with the new optical trackball. Finally, in the looks department, the new device far exceeds the old trackball; it is dark gray, comfortable on the hand, and has a red "ball"
