Summary: Best Trackball ever
Review: I have been using the one without the wheel few years ago without a problem. Changed to this new one recently (just because the wheel) and it's getting even better. Once you used this Marble, you'll never want to use those normal mouse back. As compared with other trackball/mouse, the cleaning part is easy and you don't really need to clean that often as it's using "optical". Give it a try, I hope that this can help you make the decision.

Summary: Logitech TrackMan Marble Mouse
Review: I have only had this "mouse" for about 48 hours, and I love it. It took me about an hour to get used to it. I have already ditched my old mouse. This one is so much more comfortable to use, and I like not running off the mousepad! I have a job that has me at a computer eight hours a day, and then I usually spend a couple of hours a night on my own system so saving my wrists when possible is a big plus.

I love the way it works in my graphics programs as well, it has excellent control. I have used it in Adobe, Corel, and my Photomax programs. Unlike my trekker mouse I had previously this one seems to work with many programs besides just more standard ones. I am not a big game player, but did experiment with it a little bit, and I think I could get used to it, at least you don't have to worry about ruuning out of mousing space. I highly recommend this mouse for the experienced, and inexperienced alike. The software is simple to install, and the basics are easily grasped. Great product!

Summary: Excellent Trackball (trackballs rock in general)
Review: I have the version of this mouse without the wheel (Trackman Marble) and am planning on ordering the wheel version. If you've never used a trackball, give it a shot.. it's amazing how much of a differance it really does make, once you get used to it.

I had a non-optical trackball before this and loved it as well, although it took a good week to get used to it in the beginning.

This perticular model requires little cleaning and what cleaning it does require has nothing to do with accuracy - the points the ball is suspended on get a little dirty, so you just pop the ball out once a week and run a fingertip across the points to get the dust and dirt off, works great and takes about 20 seconds total, no tools required.

Hope this helps someone decide on it.. me, I'm off to buy the wheel version :)

Summary: terrific product
Review: I have used the Trackman for about 5 months and it is one of the best pieces of equipment I have ever purchased for my computer. I often lean back in a chair when I surf the web, and this mouse is perfect for that, as you can cradle it in your lap. I can't stand an ordinary mouse now and will never go back. Highly recommend it -- especially if you spend multiple hours a day on your computer.

Summary: NOT for gamers
Review: I just purchased this today and it is the smoothest mouse i've ever had. The thumb marble takes some getting used to but i think it is better than a traditional marble mouse.

However let me point out this, you will get fragged over and over in games like Unreal Tournament and Q3. You can move around the hallways better but forget about aiming even at slow speeds. Even with the sensitivity turned down on the mouse and the game i still couldn't lock on to a target very well.

Overall great for everything but games!

Summary: I use it at home! The speed is the greatest!
Review: I love the speed and the ease of use! It does take time to get used to it at first and I will never go back to a mouse without the wheel. My problem is, the track ball can sometimes be a little bit too sensitive, especially when doing delicate publishing or drawing. Great for general use! But for long time use, my wrist tends to go numb. The software even lets you change the direction of the track ball, ie, move the ball up and it goes in a strange angle - you can adjust for that.

Summary: Not for all uses...
Review: I originally purchased this mouse for use with AutoCAD. I found that trying to navigate through a drawing with a conventional mouse was too constricting (cord's either too short or pad not big enough!). Unfortunately, this mouse lacks the precision that a conventional one has (trying to manipulate a cursor with the thumb in such a case is very frustrating). However, if used for all other computer applications (such as navigating this site), Logitech's trackball shines wonderfully!

PS: The scroll wheel is overly "ratchety" and the right button is too often accidentally clicked.

Summary: Great mouse
Review: I purchased this mouse right after christmas and will say I love it! It is very smooth and helps keep my wrist from bothering me as much as before. Took a little while to adjust due to the fact you dont move it with your hand, but very easy to use and adjust too! Also has a lot of great features. I would recommend it highly!
