Summary: Great but no XP support
Review: Excellent alternative to a mouse for those with wrist problems. Very easy to use and quite accurate. Good for photoshop or other artistic programs. Scrolling is just OK. Still no XP support as of 11-02.

Summary: A frustrating device
Review: I had high hopes for this touch pad. I am not especially happy with it. It is rather difficult to scroll with it. It takes a very steady hand & patience to operate, & simply slows me down. Highlighting for copy & pasting is very frustrating. If you are trying to remedy a sore wrist or carpal tunnel, look into the Quillmouse. It's rather expensive ($100) but MUCH better than a touchpad.

Summary: Wowsers Uncle Gadget!
Review: I have long been a fan of glidepoint technology, having been using an Alps touchpad for nearly 6 years that is FINALLY dying in the time that I would have gone through numerous mice. And ALPS wasn't supporting my old baby any longer, so I was out of luck.I just got this Fellowes Touchpad in the mail yesterday and I am already a VERY happy camper. I love the versatility of it and the programmable features, such as "gestures" which allows you to set up a symbol recognition system that you create similar to the Graffiti alphabet on Palm OS handhelds. There are also buttons for your default web browser and e-mail programs. Plus one other button for whatever you want it to be. In addition, there are scroll and zoom bars on the right and bottom sides of the pad which make web surfing very nice indeed. The pad also has a zoom feature on the left side, and back/forward along the top. The top right corner is blue and works like your right mouse button. You also have 2 conventional buttons for right and left just below the touchpad area. I was worried that it would not be compatible with my Win XP, but I went to the Fellowes site and they have a compatible (just not M-soft stamp-of-approvaled) driver that works fine without any glitches with the touchpad.

Summary: Great product, less wrist strain.
Review: I've been using this product for over one year now and find it to be fantastic. I've had only minor issues installing, works fine on win XP. After developing wrist strain using a traditional mouse which forces you to position your wrist to hold the mouse, I've had great improvements while using the touchpad. It didn't take very long to get used to the action, a light touch is all it takes. Scrolling is great - just move your finger along the edge of the pad. Clicks can be performed right on the pad, or using the buttons. It allows you to position your wrist any way you'd like and use a light touch from any finger desired to guide the pointer. Can't say enough good, will never go back to a mouse.

Summary: Good for Win 9x, but not for Win XP
Review: If you have Windows 95 or Windows 98 this is a good input device to use. It has several nice features: 1. user defined gestures for keyboard shortcuts
2. better, smoother scrolling than a mouse
3. easier to keep clean
4. can change the text size of a web page without accessing the menu
5. doesn't care if you're right or left handed
6. works on any surface that it will fit on, self contained
7. more features than I have listed
8. easy to use To me it's well worth the price. But if you have Windows XP do not buy it. There are no drivers for Windows XP as of yet, without the drivers it acts like a basic mouse. I don't know about any other OS and compatibility.

Summary: Works as Advertised
Review: It is possible to download a Windows XP driver for this device. However, you really don't need one. I tried the touchpad with the XP driver and without, and found that the pre-installed generic XP driver provided smoother cursor motion. Of course, if you want all the special Glidepoint features, you need the XP driver from the Fellowes Web site, but I found the Glidepoint features to be more annoying than helpful, and the cursor motion became somewhat unpredictable. I recommend just hooking this device up to your Windows XP machine and letting the pre-installed XP (Home Edition) driver do the work. If you do, you'll find that this touchpad functions exceptionally well, and is a great value for the money - much better than those combo keyboard-touchpad devices, which are harder to use and less ergonomically satisfying.

Review: Simply put, the Cruise Cat is a higher form of animal than the mouse. Several years ago I was experiencing tingling and loss of sensation in my right hand & pain in my wrist due to excessive mouse use. I thought I'd try some other types of pointing devices, and ended up with the Cirque Cruise Cat, their largest model touchpad. All my symptoms went away and have not come back. Instead of grasping a mouse between my fingers and holding my wrist at an unnatural angle, I can set the Cruise Cat on my leg, my stomach or wherever it is most comfortable, and at an angle that is natural to my hands at rest. This is even better than the touchpads you may find in a laptop (my favorite pointing method there too) or in a touchpad keyboard, and has the largest touchpad surface I've found in any product. It has also outlasted any of the mice I previously owned. The good stuff doesn't end there, however. You can scroll a page up and down by running your finger along the right side of the Cruise Cat's surface, scroll left and right along the bottom of the touchpad, scroll back and forth between web pages by running your finger across the top, and change the text size of the page or document you are on by scrolling along the left side of the pad. There are also four programmable buttons past the left edge of the pad, the usual two mouse buttons on the bottom (though you never have to use them--you can simply tap softly on the pad's surface to accomplish right and left clicks) and there are many setup options that will allow you to customize the use of the Cruise Cat. All for less than the cost of most quality mice. What are you waiting for? You've found the best pointing device on the market!
