Summary: This mouse has three things going for it.
Review: 1) It's made by Logitech, who make the best mice on the market. They always have current device drivers and most of the time you can just plug the mouse in to whatever system you are installing it on and have it work. They are the reference standard for my money.
2) It's cordless. Doug Englebart is a genius, but corded mice can sometimes be a pain in the.... You're always having to move the cord, or pick the mouse up and relocate it or, depending upon where your computer is you may not have enough cord. This is never a problem with the Logitech mice, the range is about six feet and the mouse will work if the transmitter is under a wooden desk.
3) It's optical. Optical mice are the only mice worth having. You don't have to worry about your mouse ball getting all gunked up or have a mouse pad to use the mouse. You never have that annoying behavior where the mouse ball isn't rotating properly, causing your cursor to skitter all over the screen. The sensitivity is fantastic.
In short you should buy one of these for every single one of your computers. Don't worry about conflicts though, the Logitech wireless system is smart enough to deal with having multiple cordless devices on the desktop.

Summary: Great at first . . . not so much anymore . . .
Review: As of late, my family is updating our electronics trying to keep up. We've bought new everything to keep up with this digital day and age. One of our additions was this mouse. It was great at first, completely comfortable, quick, and easy to move. Goodbye to our hideous mousepad (we have a light desk) and the equally horrendous cords that irritated my mother so. It was a marvel compared to the sticky, slow (and BEIGE) from Goodwill when our old one broke down. Then the problems began. This mouse has an EXTREMELY low battery life. Since Double AAs are used to quickly in our house (for remotes, radios, and what not), it seemed we were always having to get batteries. So the seemingly cheap cost for the mouse is not so cheap when you add in the cost of batteries. And the red glow IS irritating, especially at night when working late on a project. It gives the room an eerie vampire feeling, not good after reading Dracula or watching a scary movie for those that get frightened easily. But that's not really why I am so mad. For some mysterious reason or another our mouse has STOPPED WORKING. I'm seeing all these reviews saying their mouse has lasted for a year. Mine has barely made 5 months. I checked the site for troubleshooting as the owner's guide is pretty much useless to find about as much help as I'd found in the guide. We tried everything to no avail. So now I'm stuck with my [crummy] Goodwill mouse and my monstrous mouspad until I can find a new one on Amazon. Don't expect long term success from this one.

Summary: Innovative, Reliable, Easy to Use
Review: But don't leave home without a package of AA's ;)I don't know how I lived without this product. It's a smooth tracker, even when I have to "mouse" on the arm of my couch. Has awesome range. Wasn't too difficult to set up. Only complaints: The connect button for initial connection, on the bottom of the mouse, is a teensy tiny push button, much like when you reset a watch, that has to be pushed with a paperclip or pen -- directions didn't explain this too well & you can't start up without doing this. And it eats AA batteries. If you can purchase a rechargeable set, I highly recommend. I can't figure out how to "shut it off" when not in use, and it just gobbles up the alkalines. We've gone through 3 changes in just 2 weeks :o

Summary: Irregular motion
Review: Despite what others say, my mouse became skippy and sometimes even very slow, especially when a program is active or running. Sometimes the mouse would just freeze for several seconds. But sometimes it happens out of nowhere. My old MS optical mouse never had any problems. Also the buttons are too small. Sometimes when i clicked the right mouse button, I pressed the edge. The only good thing about this mouse is that it looks decent

Summary: Not just a great cordless mouse.. a great mouse, period!
Review: For years, I've been a Micro$oft user.. they made durable basic mice, but their other lines, including opticals, have been sorely lacking. Their mice (one of which died on me in 2 days flat) is the reason why I tried Logitech mice.. and for that I thank them.. Logitech products simply plug in and work.. I know that doesn't sound very impressive but after fighing with M$ products, I appreciate that simple requirement. Their Mouseware progs also work well and integrate well with usual computer use.. and I've never had any probs with tracking or dropouts from use of this cordless mouse.. simply put, the Logitech Cordless mouse is a simple, elegant mouse that helps, not hinders.. and that alone is enough to make me a loyal Logitech user.

Summary: A nice mouse, but the cordless version is less reliable...
Review: Get the wired version of this mouse. It's quite comfortable, and very good for gaming, and such. I would say the wireless version is much more reliable, and more likely to work. Keep this in mind, wireless tech just isn't perfected yet.

Summary: Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse
Review: Great mouse and no cord adds a level of convenience that I've never had before. This is my first optical mouse and I can't see ever going back. No ball to clean and I've found that the movements of the cursor are just as smooth as my old mouse, maybe even smoother. Easy to install IF you are using Windows XP. If you are using Windows 98 that's another story! I bought a second mouse for my Win 98 computer and the headaches began. Note!! Be sure to download the newest software drivers! Also I tried to use the USB on the Win 98 computer and I had to call Logitech tech support (NO toll free number), I was told that I had to install drivers from my Win 98 cd then it would work. I gave up and used the PS/2 connection.

Review: I absolutely love mine. It is one of the better purchases that I have made computer related. I have wrist problems which it seems to help. It is easier and smoother to work with than a regular mouse. It was easy to install, etc.

Summary: Great mouse!
Review: I bought the Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse to avoid the problems of the mechanical ball and more so to avoid the "tail" of the cord that would always get entangled on my paper covered desk. I have used it for over 6 months and liked it so much that I bought another for my laptop as well. The design is very ergonomic, fitting the hand well. The button design and customization are excellent, especially the scroll wheel. I have found the battery life to be very reasonable and not at all a drain as some others have mentioned. The USB interface makes things a lot easier too. Only minor cribs: opening the battery compartment on the mouse is a bother (surely they could find a simpler way) and it would be nice if the mouse could alert you to a fading battery instead of you having to query the status. While you don't need a mousepad, it works a lot better if you are running it over a light colored surface (most desks are not!). And of course, sadly you cannot use it on an airplane in flight because of interference! But on the ground, this is one great mouse.
