Description:

Ever dream about what life would be like if you didn't have to use that midget mouse that came with your iMac? Stop dreaming--you can ditch that little pest and pick up the Logitech blueberry wheel mouse for Macs. Not only does it come in the translucent blueberry and ice style that matches your Mac, it's also incredibly well constructed, is great for gaming, and has a wheel that makes scrolling through Web pages and long documents quick.

We installed the mouse in a USB port on a PowerBook G3, and, as is typical with Logitech mice, installation was very straightforward. Logitech's MouseWare software is also simple and intuitive--we finished our setup in about two minutes. We loved the fact that we could easily plug and unplug the mouse without any hassles when traveling.

The mouse has a nice heft that makes it feel solid, yet it's still light enough to pick up and move when you're using it. We programmed the left button to single-click and the right button to double-click. You can also assign the middle scroll wheel to be a third programmable button. The wheel itself is tight enough to make it great for selecting weapons while playing first-person shooters such as Quake 3: Arena. The only downside is that the cable is way too short; while it will easily reach to the USB port on your Apple keyboard, it probably won't extend all the way to a CPU.

If you're ready for a change--no matter what kind of USB-enabled Mac you have--the Logitech blueberry wheel mouse is a great upgrade. --Ara Jane Olufson
