Summary: Logitech has done it!
Review: As a veteran user of computers, I have gone through my share of mice. The Logitech optical job is a pleasure to work with. Smooth tracking and an ergonomically friendly design male this product a step up for anyone who is tired of cleaning old style mouse tracking balls and wiping the scum out of the well. Whether you are a gamer or a Net junkie, this product is great! The four programable buttons make this mouse the best I have ever used. Say goodbye to the moving parts problem and buy this product.

Summary: Pretty good, pricey but a good investment
Review: For the past several years I have been a trackball person. The first trackball I bought was a logitech trackman vista, I instantly fell in love. Then when the Trackman Marble FX came out I bought it.... and I loved it. I've had a FX for the past 2 years and just raved about it... but unfortunately I like to take out the ball and play with it... I dropped it and cracked the ball so it was very hard to use :(.

I decided to go for a mouse about a week ago.... did some research and decided to buy the mouseman wheel optical. I got it today and think it is pretty good as far as mice go, but I still think the Trackman Marble FX is better in that it is more comfortable. If I did not have the tendancy to drop the trackball on the floor and crack it I would have a trackball now... If you want comfortable buy the Trackman Marble FX, but If you are a mouse person get this mouse. It is comfortable, respocive and just plain cool looking ;>.

One problem I have had with the mouse already is in Unreal Tournament.... the wheel does not work... yet anyways.

Summary: Better than MS Explorer? YES!!
Review: Well this is my first Logitech mouse as I have been a major advocate of the MS intellimouse series for a while now and I must say that I am impressed with this mouse. My last mouse was the MS intellimouse explorer (the grey optical mouse) and like the others before it went on the fritz and died on me. Disgusted with the constant dying of my MS mouse I turned to logitech and over the past month I have been nothing but a happy camper with the performance and feel of the "Blue Man" as my wife calls it (beats me why...probably cause of the Blue Men Group).

The advantages I have noticed of the "Blue Man" over the MS optical series is the following. The Logitech mouse is completly more ergonomical than the MS series by a longshot. The comfort and feel of this mouse is outstanding...although may be awkward for a left hand user but less than the old MS series...and the optical camera seems to read faster than the old MS series as well because a vast improvement is immediately noticable from the start in the precision of this mouse. The mouse wheel can be depressed for an additional "menu" screen that allows for quick access to things such as: your favorites list, e-mail,refresh web page, and other nifty ideas that the MS series probably would never have dreamed of.

The downsides to the mouse...There are NO downsides to it. I understand that I have only used this mouse for about a month now but when compared to the compatibility issues and the registry tweaks I had to implement for the MS series the Logitech Mouse is a Godsend.

In response to the "electronics fan" from Canada his statement that " the blue logitech label emits heat" is erroneous. Ok it may technically emit some heat but it is not even noticable even for long periods of use. Also his statement that the cursor will move erratically across the screen if you move it to fast is true if you DON'T adjust the settings. The MS mouse suffered horribly from that and that is one of the great joys of this mouse is its fine customization menu. I experiance NO erratic movement from this mouse at all (I just got done moving it across the screen as fast as I could). However since this is an optical mouse you do not want to place it on a surface that is reflective i.e. glass or a white textured surface since that can interfere with the optical sensor.

Overall I would highly recommend this mouse over the MS optical series due to its increased tracking and precision and the overall general comfort of using this mouse for extended periods (i.e. gaming;-) and since I forgot to mention it above the button click response is SUPERB. I have yet to encounter any problems with this mouse and if I do...well at least Logitech has an easy accesible and available tech support (Microsoft tech support is horrendous for home users).

Summary: PROs and CONs of the mouse
Review: + has excellent shape, which repeats the contours of a hand (better than MS Explorer mouse)

+ is enough big and heavy, which brings stability of movements

+ it has a beautiful blue light on top, which magnicifintly glows in a dark

+ precision/resolution of movements is very high

- scroll feeling is different from MS mouses: I like MS scroll wheel more

- 4th mouse button is located exactly under your thumb, so sometimes you press it accidentially (especially when playing)

I have it and I would not trade it for MS Explorer!

Summary: Step Up
Review: Asked for and received one of these for $mas. It's the only mouse that could possibly be better than my old Logitech Mouseman. If you love the curve shape of Logitech's, you'll be more pleased with the improved non-slick feel of this one. I'll never go back to a ball mouse, and Logitech has continued to earn my business. Nothing but smooth sailing for this happy camper.

Summary: Very Good
Review: This is a very good mouse overall. It glows, which was a nice surprise, but I don't find that it heats up at all. It fits your hand nicely, and the 3rd button is easily accesible but can not be pushed accidentally. I find the 3rd button is most useful when you set it to execute the back function of your browser. Sometimes, however, for no apparent reason the pointer sticks in one space or moves around on its own. Other than that, it is an nice mouse.

Summary: Optical what else is there to say.
Review: This mouse is great. I had a mouseman+ previously and was disapointed that I was having problems with the ball in the mouse. No such problem with this mouse. Programable buttons and an ergonomic feel give this mouse superior comfort over its competitors. I had a little problem with the USB connection, the pointer would freeze when I started some applications but using the Ps2 connection instead solved that problem. I highly recommend this mouse for the simple fact that you don't have a mouse ball to clean or take care of. Collecting various mouse pads must have been fun but you can use them as coasters now because you don't need them anymore. Enjoy!

Summary: AWESOME MOUSE
Review: I absolutely LOVE this mouse. I ordered it a couple of weeks ago, and it is a huge improvement from my old mouse. It is comfortable and it includes four customizable buttons. You can launch your favorite application or do special commands.

Hand cramps are never a problem because there is a soft padding on the sides.

The wheel glides smoothly and you can customize how much it scrolls with each turn.

Have I mentioned that I absolutely love this mouse?

Summary: Excellent Mouse!
Review: This is the best mouse I have ever used! It has smooth movement, doesn't jump around the screen and all of the buttons are very well placed. The size is absolutly perfect and fits my hand better than any mouse I have ever used. The scrolling wheel is perfect and the thumb button is a great help. You'll never go back to an ordinary mouse!

Review: The NT 4.0 could not find the mouse connected through the serial port. I think I will try the Microsoft version.
