Summary: Convenience is Priceless
Review: This is a very good mouse. I already had wireless keyboard, and adding this to my collection not only cleared some space on my desk, but it works magnificently. Some of the other reviews that say the range of this mouse is bad, are mistaking. I haven't had one problem with this mouse, and I recommend it to anybody who asks. So what are you waiting for, One-Click this puppy now and live the same convienence that I am enjoying right now!

Summary: It's got me, a left-hander, completely satisfied
Review: What I really wanted to use for precision photo-editing was a massive trackball, so I bought the Kensington Turbo Mouse Pro. That is a great trackball. Unfortunately, I found it to be unreliable (one of the rollers soon stops working in one direction) and I returned two of them. The third is still sitting in the box unopened because in the meantime this Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical came out and I've found it to be so satisfying and precise that I haven't gotten around to unpacking my third Kensington. Who needs to with this? It's extremely accurate and precise and I can set the ballistics precisely with the software so that it zips across the display if I have to move fast and moves a pixel at a time for photoediting when I move it slow. Note also that I am left-handed and do not find that its obvious right-hand orientation is a bother. Got used to its "funny shape" for a left-hander in under a minute.

Summary: Great product; far superior to Microsoft's optical mouse
Review: I received this as a gift. I already had the Logitech cordless keyboard/mouse combination, and had been very pleased with them. So I really didn't see any need to change, but was assured I'd like the optical mouse a lot more than the cordless MouseMan. Sure enough, I'm now a total convert to the optical mouse. I was pleased to discover that it worked fine with the Logitech cordless receiver I already had in place for the cordless keyboard/mouse, so I didn't have to change any connections. The software is basically the same that I had been using with the cordless MouseMan. That was my only problem: I found that with the optical mouse, certain mouse functions didn't work properly in AOL 6.0: for example, it failed to let me access the pull-down menu for recently visited places, and the pointer did not automatically jump to the default button. I finally uninstalled the Logitech mouse software (not the driver) and installed the latest version of Microsoft's Intellipoint mouse software (download from Microsoft.com), and that took care of the AOL problem.

I love the weight, shape, and general feel of this mouse. I am left-handed, and find that the slight elevation on the right side is not nearly as noticeable as other ergonomic mice. I prefer a mouse with extra weight, especially since it's not corded, but these are personal preferences and if you like a super-light, flat mouse, this isn't for you. I agree with the reviewer who said that the buttons were a bit on the small size, and that they could have more space between them, but I still prefer this mouse to all others I've used. I am using it on a light-colored wooden work surface, and I've had no problems at all.

Summary: Best mouse availible on the market!
Review: Hello, I would strongly suggest anybody who needs acuracy combined with cordless technology get this mouse! It is perfect! I needed an optical mouse for work with Visual Basic. My mouse the came with my computer is the worst mouse I have ever seen! They have four buttons on the mouse. Your standard right and left buttons, along with a Web Wheel and a thumb button which I use as an Internet Back button. You can fully customize all of the buttons. The battery life is wonderful. It looks so cool! The only gripe I can think of is that the right and left click buttons are kinda close together. But I can live with that! You can ever surf with the mouse of your leg! This is a must buy for anybody looking for accuracy and cordless technology!

Summary: Definitely not for gaming
Review: I picked up one of these mice awhile back. I had been eyeing both cordless and optical mice for some time, but had been unable to decide which to buy. When I saw this in the store I bought it immediately, thrilled that my dilemma had been solved. A week later I had returned it, very disappointed. As good as this mouse is for regular computer usage (browsing the web, getting around in Windows), it is definitely not a gamer's mouse. In several games I tried the mouse tracking speed was EXTREMELY high and couldn't be adjusted, either by in-game settings or by Windows settings. There's also a slight lag time between movement and on-screen response. Also, the optical light is off-center due to the placement of the battery compartment, making it inaccurate if you twist/swirl the mouse around a lot when gaming. However, those are minor problems compared to the biggest problem--using two relatively large batteries, the mouse is not only bulky, but quite heavy. This makes it hard to make quick movements in games, both because it's harder to get moving and harder to stop moving than traditional mice.

All in all it's a nice casual user product, and I applaud Logitech for finally putting two new mouse technologies together at last--but I definitely would advise against buying this if you're going to be doing serious gaming. While it's a fantastic upgrade if you just use Windows programs, the unresponsiveness, tracking speed problems, and bulky/heavy design make its gaming performance far below average.

Summary: Not for Left Handers
Review: Don't bother to order this mouse if you use your left hand to control the mouse. The picture is deceiving in that it appears as if it is universal in its use for right or left hands... not so. It is significantly higher on the left side with a thumb button [pinky if using your left hand] which is very uncomfortable for left hand use.

Summary: Horrible
Review: Maximum range is suppose to be 6 feet. It was six inches for me. I returned the first one and tried again. Exact same thing. I already have the cordless keyboard and mouse from Logitech and they work great. This product needs much more work. I tied this product on smooth, rough, dark and light surfaces all with negative results.

Summary: Exceeds it's own specifications!
Review: I first owned a Microsoft optical mouse before purchasing this one from Logitech. Once I used the optical mouse, I knew that I was completely sold on this superior technology (compared to the standard ball mouse). Extremely smooth and accurate.

Once I saw that Logitech had combined this same technology (optical tracking) with wireless...I just had to give this a shot. Man...was I more than pleased after I hooked it up and used it for the first time.

One of my concerns was the distance that it would operate at. I use my computer screen as a TV as well (ATI graphics tv tuner) and basically lay back in my bed while watching TV through the computer. However, I would always have to climb out of bed to shut the computer down...when you are drifting off...even this little chore can be a pain.

Well, the Logitech cordless/optical mouse had no problem communicating with the RF receiver...even well beyond the 8ft. that it is rated at. In fact...it worked flawlessly from about

30ft!! I also have the monitor display going out to my 35" TV screen in the livingroom via a S-Video output from the ATI All-In-Wonder graphics card.

I was able to sit in my recliner in the livingroom and navigate the cursor through the Logitech cordless/optical mouse without any hitch! Again...the distance is at least 30ft.

This is one product that exceeds it's own rated specs!

Not too many products that do that now-a-days!

Summary: Not the best thing for people with small hands.
Review: I went out and got myself a cordless MouseMan knowing that this was a little too big for my hands. but I wanted to get a mouse with both cordless and optical features. well I'm not completely satisfied with the comfort part of it but it not so terrible either I think I already got useto this mouse. Other than that everything else seems to be working great.

Summary: Very unhappy
Review: I could not wait to receive the new Logitech cordless/optical mouse. When it did arrive I used the mouse for a total of 5 days to replace it with the Logitech corded optical mouse. The reason why I replaced it was due to the fact that the mouse for one is too heavy probably cause it stores 2 AA batteries inside. The mouse also holds your hand in an awkward position. And one last thing the left and right mouse buttons are too darn close together and too small. The optical wheel mouse with the cord is half the price and twice the mouse if you can deal with a cord.
