Summary: Great Mouse
Review: I bought this mouse when it first came on the market, almost 2 years ago. I have NEVER, let me repeat that, NEVER had a problem with this mouse. It still tracks accurately and precisely, does not unintentionaly "double click" nor has the courd become unsoldered. Both side buttons worked when I had Win98, 98SE, ME and now work with XP Home. All in all, a great product. Should it die, I'll replace it with another.

Summary: Great mouse for gamers...
Review: In the past 2 years, coming on 3, this is the only mouse my hand has resided on. Its form, flawless. Buttons, perfectly placed. For your adverage gaming enthusiast, like myself, this mouse is opticle bliss, with the ability to bind each and every button to a keystroke or command of your choice, per program, this mouse allows for great usability. When in a game like, lets say, Halo, one can have the two side buttons bound to unused keys, like PGUP and PGDOWN, having re-bound then in the game to any command they needed. Switching paces now, that same person might have also set the mouse up to use keystokes such as CTRL+H and CTRL+" bound to photoshop... switching from program to program with this great feature is seemless. Never once have I had it be confused as to which program I am in.
The major fault to this mouse is the cord, myu suggestion, pick up a warrenty, if possible. I have already owned 5 of these in my time using them (near 3 years). When the first one broke, I decided to get a warranty at Best Buy, when the mouse broke half a year later it wasnt much of a problem. Just be carefull with the cord, it seems to come unsaudered after alot of use (talking months and months of use, here).

Summary: Convenient
Review: I've the Microsoft Intellimouse for about two months now. This optical scroll mouse, with an additional 2 buttons, is just brilliant.
THE SCROLL: The scroll is extremely nice, with smooth moment and a lovely feel in your hands. When clicked, it can also be used to scroll up and down with simple direction; and other controls let it be used to increase/decrease magnification. It's just great.
THE ADDITIONAL BUTTONS: The additional buttons are extremely conveniently placed and enable you to go to Back and Forward in any web browser. A fantastic addition.

Overall, I would recommend this mouse to anyone. Just hope it was wireless.

Summary: So Far So Good
Review: Just got my new mouse, as my old wheel mouse was sooooo sticky. The new mouse set up in a few minutes; no problems. It works very well. I need a very precise, reliable mouse and this fits the bill. So far . . .

A word about registration: Someone remarked about there being a requirement to register the mouse with MS Passport in order to use it, but I found that registration was an option; I opted to register and I was not required to give any personal information (not even my name) other than my e-mail address. No credit card required; no address/phone number. Nothing to cause any security concerns.

Summary: Great Mouse
Review: I absolutely love this mouse. I do a lot of web searching and ebaying and the "back" button makes life so much easier. Some people seem to mind the red light associated w/ this mouse, but it doesn't bother me at all. It moves easily on all types of surfaces and there's no mouse ball to have to clean on a regular basis. My recommendation is to buy and enjoy!

Summary: Old Reliable - Never had a problem!
Review: Completely utilitarian. This mouse works reliably the way you would expect. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but if you're looking for a mouse that does it's job and does it well then this is the one. I am lost without my Intellimouse.

Especially notable are the side mouse buttons which are comfortably placed to make navigation smooth & easy. They can be programmed to behave differently for different applications which is really nice.

Summary: Don 't buy it!
Review: This mouse clicks twice when you press the button once (and no, I didn't set the software to do it.) Everything else is great but unless you want that- don't buy it!

Summary: A good, optical mouse with a wheel
Review: A nice optical mouse that fits the right hand perfectly. It's arched for a more natural feel. The wheel is easy to move and fairly quiet. And, much llike the two-button mouse for a PC, the right button on this one activates the control menus. The mouse plugged directly into the USB port of my computer and didn't require any special software. The only drawback is that it is right-handed, and I haven't seen one made for the left hand.

Summary: My Favorite Mouse
Review: I love the back/forward button so I can navigate easier/faster. The mouse has a nice and round back that fits nicely into your palms.

My first one stopped responding. Microsoft sent me a new one within a week (no hassle at all). The second one is still being used.. it has been with me for over 2 years now.

Excellent customer service, excellent product.

Summary: No More Dirty Balls!
Review: Excuse me for the humorous, yet truthful title. For those who are uneducated in the field of computer mice, the track-ball under one of these older predecessors constantly clogs with dirt and dust collected while roaming across a pad or table. Upon clogging the ball, the cursor on a computer screen begins stuttering, making tasks as simple as closing a window a complete bother.

These dirty track-balls are no more thanks to optics. Microsoft's Intellimouse is a computer mouse come true. By removing the track-ball of modern mice completely, the previous problems with clogged-up mice are solved. The replacement is a strikingly cool red-eye that scans the surface of your mouse pad or table, moving the curser across a screen with ease.

There is however a slight problem with the Intellimouse. The two extra buttons, located on the left and right sides of the mouse, are too easily tapped. The purpose of these two buttons can vary, but are mainly for scrolling forward and backward (while viewing webpages) without having to travel the cursor to the forward and backward buttons in your web browser. The problem however is hitting these two buttons mistakenly, which seems to be easily done thanks to their positions.

Nonetheless, Microsoft's Intellimouse Optical is a great improvement to modern mice. The elimination of the all-to-familiar frustration of 'dirty balls', is a much-needed sigh of relief from most.
