Summary: A great mouse!!!
Review: Once you have it, you can't live without it! I love the forward and back buttons it provides. It is so wonderful not having to clean out the insides like you have to on ball mice.

About The Netscape with Windows ME issue. Yes, I tried it myself and the forward and back buttons do not work. - But here's something else to think of. You should be using Internet Explorer anyway. Netscape has fallen so far behind that it will never be able to catch up. Even the "revolutionary" Netscape 6 is flawed and way behind the power curve. It takes more than a snazzy interface Netscape! Netscape users just don't realize what they are missing on web sites. If you never look at them in Internet Explorer then you have no idea what I am talking about. I am a professional web designer and Netscape sucks and sucks to develop for. You can't do anything with that piece of junk. Internet Explorer has lept and bounded over the Netscape "Power House." There are so many features you can put on web sites for users. But we can never do what we want to because of Netscape holding the whole world back. So please people... just let Netscape die and the www will be a better place. Netscape now only has 10% of online users left. So it should be dead soon. Make an effort yourself and try out Internet Explorer for a while. You won't switch back.

If you do so, you'll be able use all of the features of this mouse and it is totally worth purchasing!

Summary: A Great Mouse!
Review: This mouse was magnificent because it saves sooo much time. It's true, the apple optical is cheap and if you look near the apple optical has almost no technology compared to the Microsoft, where you can see the computer boards working. Cool glow as well. You'll get used to the two mouse buttons and the not cleaning out the ball area. My dad has a buissness of 10 traders and he bought this mouse for every computer in the office he liked it so much. And as for outdated labtops, this works on labtops made in 95'. GREAT FOR WORKSTATIONS.

Summary: Back/forward buttons don't work in Netscape on Windows ME
Review: I really liked using this mouse - in fact I got so used to its back/forward browser buttons that I got really pissed when I discovered they don't work on Netscape on my new Windows ME computer. Microsoft acknowledges the problem (KB Article ID: Q274796) and asks me to wait patiently for a fix, or to return it for a refund... So if you plan to use it on ME with Netscape, you better wait until Microsoft fixes this problem.

Summary: Casi perfecto

Summary: Great Product, I definately recommend it!
Review: Although I do not work in a dusty environment, it seemed as if my previous mechanical mouse was always getting clogged. I would always be taking the mouseball out and trying to clean those tinylittle rollers inside! It was a pain! I then decided to splurge and get the IntelliMouse Optical. It was one of the best purchases I have ever made! I have never regretted it. The mouse always worked flawlessly, I have had no problems. I definately recommend this product to anyone in the market for a new mouse!

Summary: Be aware laptop user
Review: I just got this mouse from amazon today, and I am disappointed. My laptop has only one USB port, and I connect the mouse to the PS/2 port, and it's working very very bad. Even a very slow movement could cause your cursor jumping all around your screen and keep pressing the right botton. I have tried several times and only the USB port works with the mouse.

If your laptop has a IBM thinkpad, you have to disable that in order to use the wheel (Mircosoft said you need to contact your manufacturer to find out how, check out their website). It finally took me an hour before I started using it. I need to use my Windows 98 CD for the mouse configuration, and I don't know if the CD included is useful.

But after all, it works great. The bottons in both sides are very useful if you take advantage of it. It's little bigger than the standard mouse though.

Summary: I Love THIS mouse !
Review: This mouse is fun to use - and adds to my productivity, too. The center wheel-button is EXCELLENT for scrolling. The wheel turns with almost no resistance; and to me that is the most redeeming feature of this mouse. Any other mouse I've used with a scroll-wheel wasn't nearly as easy to "spin" as this one. It truly changes the internet browsing experience. . . so easy to sit back and scroll pages. And you can click the wheel, then move the mouse slightly up or down and the page will scroll automatically. The auto-scroll speed is determined by how far you move the mouse. Great for speed-reading long pages. Most people I know have never tried this auto-scroll feature. TRY IT -it works in practially any program. If you can't figure it out, ask me!

And throw away that mouse pad if you want. You shouldn't need it unless your computer desk is glass. I can even use this mouse against my pants-leg if I want to lean back away from the desk and give my wrists a rest. Tossing away my mouse pad took away some of the clutter from my desk.

Another plus for this mouse is the USB compatibility. Since I have a USB hub on my desktop, I use that port instead of connecting the mouse to the mouse-port on the back of the computer. That means even more freedom for the mouse and no more tangled cable.

The red glow of the mouse is so cool - especially in low light.

Lastly, be sure to install the software for this mouse. It may appear to work after plugging in the mouse even without installing the software; but you may notice some features do not work. But with the accompanying software you can configure everything. The default configuration was perfect for me.

Happy scrolling !

Summary: Simply the Best
Review: What can I say about this mouse that hasn't been said. It's definitely the best mouse out there. The glowing red light is awesome when your room is dark. It's just the right amount of brightness. It doesn't overpower the room in red but is still noticeable. I am right handed and it fits perfectly in my hand. A great internet feature is the 2 buttons on opposite sides of the mouse that allow clicking back and ahead. A great time saver. I highly recommend this product.

Summary: Mixed blessings
Review: I love the speed and convenience of no mouse pad. Under Windows 2000, software must be installed first. A minor inconvenience is having to reconfigure after each reboot. I like the forward, backward use of the sidebars, but I do no like the wheel. It seems to me jerky, but I do not like track balls either. I like the cheery, red glow at rest. All in all, I am pleased with its performance.

Summary: the mouse to have
Review: Quite simply, the IntelliMouse Optical is the only mouse you will ever need. It works on any surface - any surface at all. There are no moving parts, so it never needs cleaning or maintenance of any sort. Within three minutes of plugging it in and using it, I became completely reliant on it. It's worth every penny!
