Summary: A Very Satisfied Customer
Review: Well the first thing you'll prolly notice is the price. Although it is rather pricey, this mouse is very cool, and the advantages really outweigh the disadvantages.

The advantage of this mouse is there is no ball. It is powered by a laser, so you'll never have to worry about buying another mouse due to the ball getting clogged up with dust. My house is really dusty so I haven't had very much luck with regular mice (mice is that right?)

Another really cool advantage is the light that glows under the mouse.... sometimes at night I stair at the light and it tells me to do things, like hurt my leg or staple my skin to my cloths.

The disadvantages... well the price. Its not cheep, but like I said before this mouse doesn't have a ball and that was the most prone thing to break on older models.

If you're considering buying this mouse... do it. I enjoy my little friend.

Summary: best for use with notebook
Review: While it may seem a lot to pay for a mouse, there is one circumstance when an optical mouse is just about priceless - using one with a laptop frees you from the touchpad and/or pointing stick and gives you back the intuitive function of a mouse. You can use one on your leg, on your tummy, on a picnic table if you are camping out, on a desk if you are a student, etc. If you are using a notebook as your main computer these days, invest in an optical mouse - you won't regret it.

My one major objection the the MS Optimouse is the always on LED - it needlessly uses up precious battery power on a notebook/laptop. I also find the side buttons useful but overly sensitive - they should be recessed. And I much preferred the ivory white color of the previous MS mice.

Summary: Pretty cool device
Review: This mouse is very accurate, but it should be cordless to be perfect, Windows2000 recognized it with no problems, and it worked without the intellipoint drivers (you need them if you use win98/Me);and the red light is a cool touch too!. This product deserves 4 stars.

Summary: no sticks!
Review: i love this mouse, the price is a bit to high for my taste but since it didn't seem to be dropping anytime soon i went ahead and bought one. what a difference! the track ball mice seem so impractical after using this one. the shape of the intellimouse offers some comfort to your hand when you use it, and the best part is, there is no ball to get stuck when you are trying to make graphics! also the side clicks make browsing the internet less frustrating, i no longer have to use the back button in internet explorer when i want to return to the previous page.

i gave this product 4stars because of the price, i would look into the logitech version before making my final decision as that one seems to be a lot cheaper.

Summary: I never thought using a mouse could be fun
Review: After I bought this mouse, there was no turning back. Whenever i use a regular mouse, it takes a little while to get used to - mainly because the Intellimouse is sooooo light, and very easy to move. It works on all surfaces, which is great, I use it on my bed, on my leg, on my stomach (when there is no place to put the mouse while using the a laptop, stomachs and legs come in handy). I will never again buy a regular mouse, optical technology is definatly the easiest.

Summary: The Perfect Mouse!
Review: What a wonderful product! This thing feels fantastic in your hand (sorry lefties, but it's contoured for right-handed people, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars), glides sooo smooth over any surface. And if you own a cat, no more hair gumming up the thing, not to mention dust, cheetos, etc!

And if you've nevere used a mouse with a wheel (it sits between the left and right mouse buttons), purchase this thing now! At first, I scoffed at the idea of a wheel, thinking "How ridiculous! Just use the scroll bars." Well, after the first hour of use, I'll NEVER go back to a wheeless mouse.

Summary: Love this one.....
Review: This is the real mouse to have. I bought (and reviewed) the bigger Explorer, but found too many faults with it. This mouse is the right size, has the right feel, and responds flawlessly to input on almost any surface. The extra (programmable) buttons work without getting in the way. The red glow is still cool without being as bright as the Explorer's near-lighthouse luminescence. One thing for sure: optical mice are here to stay.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST MICE OUT THERE!!!
Review: I bought this mouse thinking it would be the best. I was right!! This mouse is good whatever you use your computer for. I personally use it for internet and gaming. Many people think this mouse is bad for gaming because it skips but that really depends on yur play style. If you like, to be very accurate then this is the mouse for you. Give it a try and I swear you will not be sorry you did.

Summary: Great Mouse
Review: There isn't really anything revolutionary about this "modern" pointing device since optical pointing devices have been with us since the 80's. However, previous implementations of the optical mouse required a special mouse-pad with a printed matrix pattern from which the mouse determines precise movement. The IntelliMouse Optical has no such requirement -- you don't even need a mousepad.

PROS: no mouse ball to clean, never skips, no left/right hand bias, fast mouse rate (due to USB interface) which makes it great for gaming, and (for the conservative) it matches the rest of your computer (if your computer is beige).

CONS: it's a bit too light (weight wise), not too ergonomic (unlike the right-hand biased IntelliMouse Explorer), red "taillight" can get irritating if you leave your computer overnight and it's a bit expensive for a pointing device (although still worth it for me).

Summary: Great Optical Mouse
Review: There is nothing revolutionary about this mouse since optical mice have been with us since the '80s. The only difference is that old optical pointing divices needed special mouse pads with matrix patterns on it to determine positioning. This mouse works with almost any patterned surface.

PROS: no cleaning, never skips, amazing refresh rates (due to USB interface), matches the rest of your computer (if you have a traditional beige computer), no left/right hand bias.

CONS: the mouse is a bit too light (weight wise), it's not as ergonomic as the Intellimouse Explorer, Red Taillight can get irritating if you leave your computer on all night.
