Summary: Very clean movememt
Review: The movement is very clean, no jitters or skips in this mouse. And I've grown to like the back/forward buttons on the mouse for web browsing. It is a sharp product.

Summary: JackO
Review: I wanted wheel function and optical was the rave so seemed the way to go, but this item needs some work. I had this MS version (which did not fit me ergonomically -- right handed) and the Logitech version (which did) and they were both vitual peripatetic wonders on the screen, jigging here and there at their own apparent will like dogs on a leash. I used the PS2 port; didn't try USB. Did try various surfaces -- wooden desktop, mousepad, paper, etc. -- but nothing cured the problem. Tried convincing myself that I just needed a new system but couldn't buy it. Returned them both and have settled on a Logitech cordless ball version, which works great.

Summary: Great mouse
Review: I've had no problems with it. I didn't use the software that came with the product and it still works fine. Only problem that I ran across was when I was reinstalling windows. I'd didn't quite realize that a USB mouse isn't much good during the setup of windows so I had to use my keyboard. Not that big of a deal though. Plus, the red light is cool looking!

Summary: Fantastic Mouse. Windows 2000/ME Support? Not a Problem.
Review: I can't believe I didn't buy this mouse sooner. I work for a web development firm. My primary responsibility is coding, I assigned one button for "cut", one button for "copy" and one button for paste. It's amazing how much time that as shaved off my general programming time. I'm a little surprised at a previous review, giving the mouse one star because of its incompatibility with Windows Me/2000. The mouse I ordered shipped with IntellePoint Software v3.1 -- this wasn't compatible with Me/2000, however, version 3.2 which is a free download from Microsoft's website corrects the problem... I'd highly recommend this mouse to any programmer out there. It's functionality and pointing accuracy are unbelievable and can't be properly described... you have to experience it for yourself. Something on my wishlist (which I'm sure could be accomplished with a driver upgrade) would be different mouse button programming for different applications. When I'm coding, the cut-copy-paste button mapping that I had mentioned previously is great. It'd be even nicer if it could switch to back-forward-stop when I'm browsing the web.

Summary: Read this before buying the product!
Review: I bought two for my computers - one with Windows ME and the other with Windows 2000 installed. The one with the Windows 2000 worked fine, except it won't scroll forwards and backbards when using Netscape. The one installed on the Windows ME was a nightmare! First, it did not have the proper driver in the box (a 3.1 driver was included and is not compatible with Windows ME. Second, even after loading the 3.2 driver from the web it did not work properly. At one point, I was without mouse use and spent over 10 hours on the phone with microsoft and still it is not working. Currently, Microsoft has escalated the case so a senior technician will call me back.

Summary: Never thought using a mouse could be so much fun!
Review: I was tired of getting all that stuff out of my mouse every two weeks - my solution was to get this mouse. I chose the IntelliMouse Optical instead of the Explorer because I liked the size better, and I didn't need the extra features.

The only negative thing about it, which I really do not mind, is the red glow that comes out of the front cracks. This glow will shine on my walls when the room is dark, and is semi-annoying.

On the flipside, I love the tracking, the rough surface of the mouse, and the tracking is superb. Definitly better than the old-fashioned mouse with an actual ball.

Summary: This is the greatest!!
Review: I just got my new intellimouse optical today and I am already sold on it. I was so tired of cleaning the ball on my convential mouse. I love the way this one just glides on the desk with total control. I am also sold on the side buttons for forward and back, what a great invention! This mouse makes the computer and internet a whole new experience. And I look forward to not needing to drag out the alcohol and q-tips every other week. I highly recommend this product!! Give it a try, you will not be sorry.

Summary: A mouse that actually becomes an extention of your wishes
Review: I have been using Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical for nearly six months and have become "hooked" on it's features. It is one less irritant to worry about when you are working or playing on your computer. It's smooth...never skips...and the five button design lets you set up actions that match what you need. It's much like the difference between a 56K modem and High Speed Internet...you just don't think about it anymore.

When I get to work I am back to an IntelliMouse and my productivity falls...but for this Christmas I am going to treat myself to one for the office...as well as stocking stuffers for my three adult kids!

Plus...it looks really cool.

Summary: Dark Side Makes A Great Mac Product! For Lefties?!?
Review: Believe the hype! I've had this mouse for 3 months now, and I love it. The software works great and has never had any problems. Unlike some other optical mice (the Kensington optical pro), this doesn't feel like it's scraping across your desk. Even though there's no ball to make it roll on surfaces, it feels smooth as silk. For your info, it's been running off a 3rd party USB card in my PCI slot in my beige G3 desktop. Can't say enough good things, this is the one that you want to replace that hockey puck! I've used apple's new optical mouse too and it feels really cheap, I can feel and hear the plastic in the thing creak when I use it at school. Heck, this thing is half the price and with the software letting you program all 5 buttons to do anything in any application- it's exponentially more useful.

Summary: intellimouse explorer...outstanding...
Review: my aspect on the mouse are for both business and personal use, mainly gaming. i have used microsoft, logitech, dell, geteway, hp, and whomever else you can think of. i saw no differences in the low end mice. in the high end category, i have used cordless (and recieved NO tech support from logitech, except automated return letters) and i have used the new logitech optical, and the microsoft optical, the intellieye. i prefer without a second thought the microsoft intellieye explorer. it fits the hand better (for me), and is more comfortable for both gaming on high end games (rune, unreal t, elite f, armada, homeworld, and the like, which i do all the time) thru to web browsing, business applications (word, powerpoint, excel) and does not require drivers if you are in diagnostics (limited functionality, standard mouse). the drivers work great, no conflicts with any programs i am running. i have NEVER had a problem with the mouse to date, and i have had the explorer version for a year and a half, AND i have worn off the paint on the side already.... it has seen many hours, and is strong! hope this helps....
