Summary: excellent mouse for good price
Review: Just got this mouse. I used to have the old tear-drop shaped Microsoft mouse. I just got tired of cleaning it on a regular basis and decided to get an optical one.

This mouse is working great so far, very responsive, you'd never know it's optical. Design is ergonomic, fits the palm of the hand perfectly. And unlike the Intellimouse, which has extra buttons that I consider totally useless, this model is priced very attractively.

I don't know why anyone would want to buy a mechanical mouse!

Summary: Everything You Need In a Mouse
Review: Microsoft comes up big with their optical wheel mouse. It is a simple and easy to use mouse that doesn't have any of the extra bull that a lot of mice are coming with these days. The optical sensor works flawlessly and really changes the way you look at mice. The design is nice looking and comfortable to use for right or left handed users. Overall, a great mouse at a great price. No skipping or getting stuck with those crappy balls...it's all about precision with the optical mouse. Upgrade today!

Summary: Average mouse
Review: MS could have done better with this mouse. Overall, it performs well but it doesn't feel as solidly built as the mechanical wheel mouse it replaces. The optical mouse is light, very light. A kink in the cord will push the mouse back when you lift your hand. A small metal slug within the mouse body would have given it more heft and better feel in my opinion. The buttons have the same feel as the mechanical version but the wheel is a bit looser in comparison.

This mouse has a PS/2 style connector and MS also supplies an adapter to use with a free USB port if you're so inclined. Fit and finish are up to the usual MS mouse standards and it has a generous cord length.

A bit more heft and a better scroll wheel would move this mouse from a 3-star to a 5-star performer.

Summary: Good, but a little too light.
Review: Okay, I got this to replace the mouse I get with my iMac (before they were sending Apple's optical mouse). I love the optical mouse, and have grown used to the convenience of two buttons and the wheel.

Those are all fine, but I should have paid a little more attention to one review I saw here, saying the mouse was a little light. They were right--definitely!

Also, the wheel feels kind of cheap. I guess for a low price, I can't complain, but I'm already afraid it will break. I am not hard on my mice, but still...

Last note for Mac users: if you have OS X, you have to download the compatible software to customize the buttons, it only comes with OS 9 software.

Summary: Fantastic mouse!
Review: Optical is the only way to go. Gone are the days of cleaning the ball and the rollers. This mouse works on any surface and is actually more precise that the old ball style mouse. The mouse wheel for scrolling is really handy also. Some games even use the wheel for weapons selection, etc. I prefer this version over the more expensive offering from Microsoft because there are too many buttons on the other one. They get in the way.

Summary: A Fabulous Mouse...You won't be disapointed
Review: Over the Years I have used a countless number of Mouses (or is it Mice...:)? The problems have been always the same.
1. The Mouse Ball needs cleaning...AGAIN!
2. The pointer tracks poorly when used vigorously (like when playing Games and accuracy keeps you alive longer).
3. The Mouse requires a Pad which either gets to dirty, nappy or just slides around when trying to roll the mouse across it.

Well the good news is, this Mouse will help you with all that stuff and more.

Pros:
* It is USB or PS2 capable (USB is preferred)
* Mouse pointing is very accurate and smooth
* Never needs cleaning...in fact, the more dirt the better it glides
* Can be used on any Surface...without a Mouse Pad....YAY! (Though I have found the optimal to be a wooden surface with a shot of Pledge Furniture Polish...it glides like a puck on an air hockey table...:)
* Has two very cool scrolling/software features
1. Scrolling can be controlled directly through the scroll button or by using the auto scroll software function.
2. I love the "snap to" function where the mouse pointer automatically moves to the defualt button on any windows opened...very nice for Lazy Mousers like me.
* Very comfortable to use for extended periods of time.
* Pretty long cord for extended cable routing...nice if your PC is a long way from your Mouse surface.

Cons
I can't really think of any...besides the fact that it isn't wireless...though you could buy one for 3x more.

As far as value this Mouse is it... don't bother with the corded Intellimouse it has nothing on this mouse but costs twice as much.
I have owned this mouse for over a year now and use it heavily on a daily basis. It works like new and has already outlasted any previous mouse I have owned. If you want wirless go with the optical intellimouse, if you don't care....then save 1/2 your money and go with this one.

I highly recommend this mouse..I know you will love it.

Summary: Pretty good
Review: Pretty good mouse, it points, it scrolls, what more do you want a mouse to do? I wish it had a little more weight, I think this mouse is too light. I like the weight of the logitech better, but the scroll wheel is better on the MS mouse.

Summary: More hoops to jump through....more rebate balony
Review: The mouse itself is great...my old one used to get gunked up and this one is much better. I had to use a magic marker to cover the little red light on the back on the back as it shines in my face when I fall asleep in front of the computer. If I wasn't so mad about the rebate I would give it a five.

Summary: Works as expected
Review: This is my first optical mouse. It works fine. Plugged it in and it worked without any hassle. I found it moves better directly on the desk vs. a mouse pad. I'm using the PS/2 port. Worth it. Amazon shopping made it easy!
