Summary: a great mouse
Review: I really like this mouse. It moves smoothly and it's a simple design without a lot of useless buttons. The only real problem I've noticed is that the scroll wheel is very loose. Some people like it this way but I prefer a firmer grip. The way it fit in my palm also took some getting used to. I have smaller hands so I had to adjust the way I held it. Other than that, this is a great mouse.

Summary: A good choice for a ...replace
Review: I will not list things in pro - con format, as for some people a pro may turn in to a con. Rather, I'll make a list of what I do and dont like about this mouse, and will leave the decision to the reader to determine if that is a pro or con. As each user has different needs and expectations from a mouse, that will be the most logical way of writing a helpful review.

1- It's price is really good for its good performance. When I bought this mouse, it was [$$$] in my country. As I'm writing this rewiew, it's price have dropped around something [$$$].

2- There are only two buttons and a wheel on the mouse. Simple, and in my opinion, easier to use. I never use those extra buttons, also if accidentally they are programmed, in many of the games they cause problems. This mouse does not have any of them. This also helps keeping its' size small. But the lack of these buttons also confirm that, it is not for designers.

3- It is really very light. Some hardcore gamers may not like this feature, but in my opinion, it makes it more comfortable to use this mouse for gaming and windows purposes. Not being heavy makes the usage easier.

4- It has all the advantages of an optical mouse. With a good surface, its' performance is also very good, both in games and in windows applications.

5- It's size is small. Smaller than many other optical mice that i have seen. People with bigger hands may have some problems, but for many people, especially ladies, its' size is perfect.

6- To tell the truth, I do not have an idea about its' durability. But untill now it did not cause any problems. The wheel is still functioning perfectly, movement is smooth and the button still work perfectly and the mouse looks like as if it is new. But in many microsoft optical mice, the wheel smooths a lot, the buttons become loose etc. So as the time passes, I will update this review and will be able write some more about this issue. For now, its working perfectly after a 4 months of hardcore usage.

7- What if you are an online FPS gamer? Is this mouse suitable for you? Well, of course an optical with better refresh rate would performance more successful in such games, but will the diffence be recognizable?... So, quality of this mouse (which is much much better than those cheap solutions) will probably maximize your gaming talents. This mouse's performance is more than adequate for such games. In my opinion, it is certain that your gaming experience will be worse with a less quality mouse, but it is questionable if you will gain a much better gaming experience with a much expensive optical mouse.

As a conclusion, these are what i have observed through usage. But as your needs and performance expectations may be different, the outcome of satisfaction may also be different for you.
I recommend you buying this product.

Summary: A great optical mouse - replace your old mouse now
Review: I'd say this is better than Microsoft's two other corded optical mice. It's definitely easier to pick up than the Explorer mouse, and who needs those side buttons anyway? The cursor on my screen never jumps or gets stuck anymore, which is important for me because I play a lot of multiplayer first person shooters. Additionally, this mouse can be used by both lefties and righties; Microsoft's other optical mice can only be used by right handed people. If you're looking for an optical mouse, don't look any further than Microsoft's Wheel Mouse Optical.

Oh, and just a reminder - I felt that the wheel scroll was a little bit light, but some people prefer this. Personally, I like stiffer wheels.

Summary: Great Basic Mouse...smooth out those bumps.
Review: I've been using this mouse for about 2 years now. No balls means no bumps. Easy and fast to clean. My only regret is that this mouse doesn't have forward and backward buttons like my MS IntelliMouse at work. My tip: make sure you have the same mouse and keyboard at work as at home. This mouse performs well and won't leave your wrist as tired as the non-optical variety.

Summary: really good mouse
Review: I've had this mouse for a few weeks and have so far been very pleased by it. Its more accurate than a regular ball mouse and doesn't need any maintnance. Unlike a Sun mouse, it doesn't need a special mousepad. I also really like its shape, it makes it very comfortable to use.

Summary: uncomfortable.
Review: If your looking to take the leap from roller mouse to optical this is the cheapest way in. The microsoft mouse is lighter than a roller mouse and moves easily over a desk top. Mine has been working without a problem for some time and no need to remove the built up goo off the rollers and ball any more. For the price you can't beat it. If you alread have a PS/2 mouse installed you can plug this in to a USB port and use both mice. I can use my old MS PS/2 roller mouse, the new optical mouse and the touchpad on my laptop at the same time. Mouse comes with software to customize nearly everything on the mouse and wheel feature is nice. For the current sale price and rebate you can not go wrong.
