Summary: I couldn't go back to a trackball if you forced me to...
Review: WOW. I cannot expressed what a difference an optical mouse makes. I now have one of these for each of my computers at home and when I go to work and have to deal with the trackball, I just want to scream. The transistion is so smooth, at first you will think it is too smooth, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Logitech, in my opinion, is the best computer accessory company. Buy this mouse.

Summary: Great Mouse for an iBook with OS X
Review: This was fantastically simple to install: connect to usb port and start using!

The mouse immediately worked just as it does in Windows. The right button brought up the same options (such as open in a new window for browsers). The scroll button also allowed for easy movement. Highly sensitive and just the right size for portability, I cannot think of a better mouse for a laptop and there was absolutely no software to install (with use of OS X).

For the price, you can't do better!

Summary: I love this squeeker!!
Review: I wouldnt give this mouse up and someone will be prying it from my cold dead hands when I die. I was so tired of that little annoying track ball in my regular mouse having to constantly clean the darn thing and even then i was constantly having to put it if diffrent positions to try and get the darn thing to work. Then I orderd this little gem! No more track ball for me:) also this little mouse has a neat little red light underneath of it that doubles as a neat night light!! I have had mine over a year with heavy and I do mean heavy use and I have had absolutely no problems with it. I highly recomend getting your self one!!

Summary: Close - but not quite perfect
Review: This mouse performs perfectly, however there's something just not quite right. Perhaps the plastic is a little too thin? This just feels a little too light, the button action isn't quite right. In all this mouse just lacks something in the feel of quality. But I'd still buy another one, that's why checking it out now.

Summary: Ergonomic, Smooth, and Loaded!
Review: I bought the Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical as a replacement for my factory eMachines mouse. It must be the most ergonomic mouse I have ever used. I love it. I have not had a single problem with it even though it is hooked up through my USB Hub. The included software is also handy, although I have disabled it. It comes with Logitech's MouseWare which features WebWheel. WebWheel, when the center button is pressed down, opens a browser type function that allows you to go back, reload the page, or stop the page loading and a couple of other web links. If you don't like that or don't browse the web often, then you can set it to open a little box with windows program functions such as close program, minimize, and more. However, because I get many long emails, I have set it to the default windows provided alternative which allows you to move your pointed to control the scrollbars.

The plug and play option is also fabulous. Win98, WinME, and WinXP recognized it instantly through the USB port and let me use scroll features without any added software. The device also worked wonderfully with the Macintosh. I tested it on an iBook with Mac OS-9 and Mac OS-X and it worked instantly without any additional software. OS-X even let me use the scrolling feature on webpages and let me right click just like Windows. I highly suggest this mouse for ANYONE! If you don't have USB then there is an included PS/2 adapter.

Summary: It's not compatible with my mouse pad? HUH?
Review: I like the way this mouse feels. But when I installed it, I made a strange discovery. I know this sounds silly, but my brand new Logitech optical mouse isn't compatible with my MOUSE PAD!

My mouse pad has a photograph on it, and that photograph has a lot of lights and darks. It seems that the optical mouse is having trouble sensing where it is on the mouse pad -- because of the strong contrasts between light and dark.

As soon as I tried a different mouse pad, the Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical worked great.

What's this world coming to? Not only do we have to worry about our OS and our software being compatible, or different pieces of hardware being compatible. Now we need to worry about whether our mouse is compatible with our mouse pad!

Summary: A great product for all
Review: I bought this mouse to go with my notebook computer. It allows me to sit a little further back, and not rely on the touchpad. The programmable features of the wheel allow for web navigation quicker than using the browser toolbar. For curiosity's sake, I took mine apart and found out that even the wheel itself is optically tracked with another set of sensors inside. My only complaint is that I never use a mousepad, I use my pant leg. This has caused the identification sticker on the bottom of the mouse to wear out (you can't read it anymore) after only two weeks of use. I recommend writing the serial number down somewhere safe when you get it. Other than that, it's great. I am a pretty big guy, and the small mouse size fits perfectly in my hand, not uncomportable at all. I recommend this mouse above any others. On oertain optical mice I have used (Microsoft), The wheel has worn out, meaning little resistance to movement. Upon my internal inspection, I do not believe this product will ever wear out.

Summary: Great Job Logitech!
Review: I have owned a logitech trackball for 3 years now. I still love it! And have never had any problems with it.

So when going to buy my wife a new laptop, we stopped by the "mouse" section to pick up one for her (since we do not like the touch pads that comes with laptops). First off the colors grab you eyes. They had a very nice blue one (seen above) and a very cool red one. We opted for the red.

So we got home unpacked the laptop and played with it for awhile and decided to hook up the mouse to it. Our laptop has Windows XP, and we plugged it into the USB port....boom XP recognized it and we were on our way.

This little baby is very acurate, my wife was playing with the laptop on our bed and using her thigh as the "mouse pad"...no problems there. It is also very, very light. That takes a little getting used to. The red glow is neat.

Logitech is the leader in this industry when it comes to mice, keyboards, cams....you name it. And they do not let us down here. I will never buy from another company when it comes to this type products. They truely and literally outshine the others. BUY IT!

Summary: Excellent mouse for laptop users
Review: I bought this mouse to use with my laptop because I don't like those little touchpads. I could not be happier.

Since it's USB, I can plug it in with the computer already on and expect it to work automatically. Since it's optical (the new kind, not to be confused with the old Sun optical mice that required a special checkered mouse pad) it works on most surfaces, including my pant legs, my couch, and random tables that I put my laptop down on. It's also light and durable, features that help with portability.

The wheel is surprisingly useful. In addition to scrolling, it controls zoom and pan in programs like Autocad and 3D Studio Max. I can no longer bear using either of these programs without it.

One complaint - the software included with the Internet navigation features is useless. Don't bother installing it if you have a newer Windows version that automatically supports wheel mice. Just plug it in and use it - it's that easy.

Summary: Good Optical Mouse
Review: If you're looking for a good quality optical USB mouse, this is a terrific option. I recommend highly.
