Summary: No mouse trap here.
Review: Down through time and a lot of computers, I have a mouse with no ball, and red side walls. This thing has been just great. It even works through my wifes cookie crumbs on the desk. It's the best!!

Summary: Optical beats roller, but not on all surfaces
Review: I, like many people, was tired of stuck roller balls in the traditional mouse. First I bought the Microsoft intellimouse optical, but I really didn't like the feel in my hands. The optical part was great, but it was too big and the buttons felt cheesy. So, I thought I'd try a Logitech optical mouse and ordered this one. The feel in my hands is a lot better, but I had some tracking problems. After checking out the support on their web-site, I found that their optical mouse has tracking problems on some desk surfaces, particularly wood grain surfaces. Apparently, the optics get confused with some patterns. They suggested you use the optical mouse on a mouse pad or a sheet of white paper if you have this problem. I put it on a sheet of white paper and all is well now.

In summary, the optical mouse is well worth upgrading from the old roller ball. If you either don't have a wood grain surface or you're fine using it on a mouse pad or sheet of paper, then this is a great mouse (I like it much better than the Microsoft optical mouse). My logitech optical is working great now.

Summary: Comfertable And Sleek
Review: I love the way this mouse looks. It spruces up my whole desk. On top of good looks, I found this mouse to be very comfertable. It fits both my left hand and my right hand. It has 2x sensor which is good; I found this mouse to be more accurate then both my old Intellimouse and my Ball Mouse. This mouse is great!

Summary: Just a good mouse. A very good mouse.
Review: This mouse is great. Nothing extra: just simple, regular ergonomic mouse, VERY accurate and very convenient to use. Works on any usual surface. Not that good on a naked lap or arm, but this is not what you use as a surface that often, really :) This mouse is good-looking too: I don't mean only this black and silver casing, but it's got transparent sides and bottom which lets it glow with red! Ahh..! I like it! I also took advantage of that mail rebate offer and bought it together with a Logitech Elite black keyboard. These two things together make a great set and I'm really happy with it.

Summary: Not the best...
Review: Sometimes when you move your mouse the laser does not pick up that you have moved it so the mouse curser on your screen just stays still. Also I had gone through 3 mouse pads trying to find one that would not confuse this mouses laser.

I bought this mouse because I was sick of all the problems that regular old school mice always gave me but this mouse came with its own set of new problems.

Summary: Excellent for the price
Review: This is a particularly good choice for computer users with small hands who find many mice uncomfortably large. Also it is symmetrical, making it good both for left- and right-handed use. I have had mine for a few years and have never had a problem with it; it works great even without a mousepad. The price is great for an optical mouse. I'll never go back to the regular ball-based ones!

Summary: Great mouse
Review: This mouse was a very good buy. I bought it from a seperate dealer when i bought my new computer, and it has pleased me greatly. Unlike mouse balls, where they get "sticky" and stop reponding over time, or "jump", the optical mouse has great response and is quite smooth. I use my mouse for gaming, and i need a very accurate smooth mouse, and this one works perfectly for me. Iwould recommend this mouse over Microsofts, simply becuase i have heard so many complaints about the ms mouse breaking, and also the usb to ps/2 adapter (stinks). Get this mouse if you want a quality optical mouse.

Summary: May be basic, but still a winner!
Review: I've been using Logitech mice for several years now. I got one as a present for my father-in-law who was delighted with it. The ball mice that came with my most recent computer and the two earlier ones, quickly frustrated me with their tendency to get clogged up with dirt, cat hair, etc. and to quit working. Since getting rid of the cat was not an option, I got rid of the Mouse instead. Logitech's quality is excellent. I've been pleased with the length of time that the Mice have lasted...I'm not exactly easy on my computers or its attachment, since I've often got several things going on at once...

I've bought other logitech appliances for computers and yet to be disappointed in them. They are well worth the extra money...besides, I've found in computers as in other areas, that buying cheap most often means buying more often. I don't have the time to waste on computer stuff that breaks down, since I am not only finishing my Ph.D. but also work online for two different companies, and do much of my bioethical and disabilities work online. I will continue to buy Logitech as long as their quality remains so high...

Summary: Mac and PC Users... Get This Mouse!
Review: While I still love the MS Intellimouse Explorer I use at home on my PC (I have large hands), this is a great mouse! I have used this mouse on PC and Mac and I am pleased with its performance on both platfroms.

The tracking is excellent. As with all optical mice, there can be tracking problems on certain surfaces (glass, shiny, white, etc.) but this is a rare problem. I use it on a plain grey desktop that has almost no disernable pattern and it works perfectly. It will work on just about any mouse pad you throw under it. It even works on your pants leg! In fact, it is the most precise mouse I have ever used in Photoshop and that says it all for me.

Mac users will appreciate the addition of the right and wheel buttons (and the wheel itself.) For some reason, 2 button mice have never caught on in the Mac world, but this (3 button!) mouse has the potential to change all that.

While I like the 2 additional thumb buttons on the Intellimouse Explorer (5 buttons total) which are commonly used for browser navigation, the Mouseware software that comes with the Logitech provides the same functions (and more) using the wheel and its associated button. And, it costs much less than the Explorer.

I can also testify to the fact that this mouse works great using USB or the PS2 adapter (provided).

I know this is irrelevant, but optical mice just look cool, too. If you don't like people bothering you when you work, DON'T GET THIS MOUSE. The last time my input device got so much attention was when I used a light pen on a CAD system (15 years ago!) The next one that attracts this much attention will likely be a "thought control" headset.

BOTTOM LINE: Highly recommended!

Summary: This Mouse Will Make You Happy!
Review: The Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical is the perfect mouse for the majority of computer users. It has the standard two buttons and mouse wheel and can be used for both right and left handed people. This mouse is well made and works wonderfully.

This mouse has 2x scanning which makes the optical sensor scan twice as fast as Logitech's lower-end optical mouse, resulting in extremely smooth mouse movements. This may be the most accurate mouse i have used. Once you use an optical mouse that works well, you will never want to switch back to a mouse that has a rolling ball inside.

The mouse has a standard length cord and includes the green adapter shown in the product picture, which is a USB to PS/2 adapter. This means that you can use the mouse with either a USB port or a PS/2 port if you wish.

This mouse comes with a 5-year warranty, but it is likely that you will not need it. I have not had any problems with Logitech mice because they are very well designed and well made. Logitech is the world's number one mice manufacturer, and it is because of high-quality products such as this.

Oh, and if you don't like the nice blue color, it also comes in red.
