Summary: Watch out for any Logitech Rebates...
Review: Logitech has just given me the green weenie on a rebate that was available for this item when I purchased. Beware...save every scrap of documentation as they will try and wait you out and then deny the rebate unless you resubmit "all" of the supporting documentation...BEWARE BEWARE...be aware...

Summary: An ideal solution
Review: Any user of a wireless internet connection will attest that the loss of wires is very liberating. Though perhaps not to the same extent, wireless peripherals follow this lead. There is a hedonistic thrill to grabbing my keyboard, and putting it wherever I wish whenever, and never feeling the tug of the cord.

Besides that basic pleasure, there is the added delight of using this particular model. Logitech has designed a spectacular set. The keyboard has the most comfortable keys with the most satisfying clicks and clacks of any keyboard I've used. The added buttons are mostly useless, but the buttons for controlling my MP3 Player are almost worth the price alone. I was also pleasantly surprised to find the system working happily on my Mac withouth a hitch. Further, the mouse is comfortable, ergonomic, the best designed I've used. Combined, I am left a happy customer indeed. I would reccomend this to anyone seeking a happy computer using experience. The only hitch is the batteries, but I would contend that in this case, the benefits far outweigh the costs, and indeed, the bateries don't need changing that often. So all in all, a great buy if you're looking for comfort and convenience.

Review: The mouse became hard to control after only 2 months of use. It won't go where you want it to go. One of the rubber pieces that the wheel spins against (inside) seems to be decomposing.

Summary: Great Product!!
Review: I bought my logitech wireless keyboard and mouse set about four months ago, and they have performed flawlessly. One doesn't notice right off the bat, but the keyboard has a lot more specialized buttons than standard keyboards, boosting productivity. Overall great product. By the way, batteries do last for a long time in both the keyboard and mouse, so your not changes batteries every month. I find with duracells I get about 3+months on the mouse and havent had to replace the keyboard's yet, though Logitech says they should last for about 6 months, and i beleive it.

Summary: WARNING!!!
Review: We have several of these units that are problematic. After talking with Ed in Logitech's Corporate Customer Service (510-795-8500) we were told that they do not support using these with:

IBM THINKPAD T23 LAPTOPS -or-
VIA Chipsets -or-
USB 2.0

Of course, we're still having problems with these units on machines that don't have items from the above list so I would probably try the Microsoft product first.

Summary: Excellent Buy
Review: The optical mouse works perfectly on any surface. The range from the receiver pod is supposed to be a few inches, but I can sit comfortably back in my chair and use both the keyboard and mouse (on my leg) from over three feet away! I'm still on my first set of batteries in the KB and second in the mouse after 6 months of use. I love the ease of installation and configuration. Anyone can configure this keyboard's shortcut buttons to the point that they should never have to get out of a reclined position in the office chair! Overall, I have to say that I have not had ANYTHING to complain about from Logitech, and this is just one more good product from them! On a suggestion, it would be nice to be able to turn off the LED on the mouse when you're finished, to save battery life. But it does dim, which helps.

Summary: Cordless Freedom KB + M
Review: I have been using this combination for about 5 months now. The keyboard is the best, to my touch, since my Northgate. Contrary to what others have found, I am still using the first set of batteries in the kb, and the second set in the mouse. I just logged in here to buy another as a gift.

Summary: quality is not logitech's watchword
Review: I bought two logitech remote keyboard with rodents. After perhaps 60 days, the rodents died. Logitech said "gee, we only warrant our products for 30 days."

So I switched to other brands, even the hated MS for rodents that worked. Oddly, the Logitech keyboards still work.

Summary: Best I've tried
Review: I first purchased a Microsoft keyboard and mouse and they were ok. I then picked up the logitech pair and they were a cut above. Battery life is twice that of the Microsoft and the mouse is more acurate. I will not use anything else.

The only downside, the mouse does not have forward and back buttons, you have to pick one or the other.

Summary: A nice addition to your computer - 4 1/2 stars
Review: I have had this wireless keyboard & mouse combination for over 6 months now and I really enjoy it.

I absolutely love having a wireless mouse. It seems like I was always fighting my mouse's cord which was always slipping down under my desk and restricting my mouse movement if I forgot to pull the cord back before starting the computer. One of life's little annoyances that I am happy not to have to deal with everyday.

The only down side to the wireless mouse is the mouse seems to have a time delay sometimes, giving you jerky or erratic movement. This doesn't really impact surfing the web or wordprocessing - but definitely could be a problem if you are doing something that requires precise mouse movement like Photoshop or a CAD drawing program. The wireless mouse is also hard on batteries (it uses two AA batteries) - you have to replace batteries every 3 months - because it is always in active mode - it would be nice if it had some kind of "sleep" mode - where it would shut off and save the batteries - and have some type of motion sensor that would turn on the mouse when you moved it. It has a blinking red light on the side of the mouse which is quite bright in the dark - so if you have your computer right next to your bed - you might have to hide your mouse in your desk drawer to easy fall asleep at night, if having any light at all bothers you.

The wireless keyboard is great. It has 10 programable buttons that can be set to take you directly to individual web pages at the touch of a button. I haven't really used this feature - I haven't invested the time to learn how to program the keyboard. The keyboard also has a volume control, play, stop, skip forward and back track buttons which control the volume on your windows media player when playing a CD or MP3 music files. There also is a mute button.

I have bought rechargable batteries to avoid to having to keep buying batteries for the mouse. I haven't had to replace the batteries for the keyboard yet.
Having a wireless keyboard is like getting a broadband internet connection - once you've had it - you'll never go back!
