Rating: Summary: Microsoft gets it right! Review: I recently purchased the Explorer V3.0 and was thoroughly impressed. It was easy to install and setup. It was smooth and precise for all applications. The new Intellieye (6000 f/s) didn't skip at all whilst playing FPS games like Counter-Strike. It has a nice, comfortable shape for people with medium to large hands. All in all, a great mouse. Congratulations, Microsoft!
Rating: Summary: Need Features, But One Size Doesn't Fit All Review: I bought the intellimouse explorer mouse with my new computer earlier this year. For the first few weeks all seemed great as I settled in to using the additional buttons, and found that it did indeed improve my efficiency! It glides easily and freely, and I've yet to see a jump or skip and the mouse works darn near, if not actually, flawlessly. The thumb buttons are a great addition, and of course the roller feature is an added bonus in the day and age of long documents and web pages.BUT, this mouse has an odd slant to it (mine's right handed, I imagine there are left handed versions out there too?). That slant (coupled with the roller) has led to my first repetitive motion problems. My problem spot is my right pointer finger (or more specifically the joint) and the pain has gone from mild irritation to feeling incredibly arthritic and painful. After talking with others I've learned such problems aren't uncommon with this design (wrist and finger/joint problems, particularly if you use the roller feature). In the end I'm back on the market for a mouse with added functionality, less the painful side-effects...
Rating: Summary: Goodbye mouse ball, hello laser! Review: Sick of your mouse jumping around and not quite moving where you want? Hate cleaning the ball and rollers of your mouse when it starts behaving erratically? The Intellimouse Explorer may be for you. The laser really tracks way better than ball-based mice, and the form factor is pleasant. It's a solid mouse, any way you cut it.
Rating: Summary: Mouse with a Tail-lite Review: Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 was introduced to me by tech columnist in metro-area paper as being the highest item on a must-have list of add-ons, peripherals, etc. I curiously purchased one with some reservations because it favors a right-handed person. Because of its versatility this is not a factor. [I disarmed two of its buttons, rendering it highly useable for a south-paw.] I am particularly attracted to its automatic and variable-speed scrolling feature on its wheel, the no-need feature re a pad, and its overall performance and comfortability, and its maintenance-free feature because it doesn't depend upon a ball. I just bought a second one for my son as a present.
Rating: Summary: This is the tool for big hands... Review: If you have a big hand--as I do--this is your tool of choice. Note too that I have it running on my Macintosh. I haven't had any compatiblity problems in 9 months of hard use. If you are tired of a tiny mouse and trying to precisely align with that old tech ball underneath, this is your ticket. It really feels odd now when I grab a standard size mouse on another computer. Ugh, I'll never go back!
Rating: Summary: Precision and easy to control websurfing! Review: After researching and reading all about mice in general, I decided I wanted an optical mouse and this one came out on top of the reviews regularly. I never had anything beside the standard 2 or 3 button mouse prior to this purchase. I love this mouse and will never go back to a mouse with a ball again! Its precision amazes me - as a hardcore pc gamer I can now do completely accurate distance targeting and have much smoother overall precision of movement when moving around in games. I gave it a "draw a smiley face in Photoshop" test. First I drew the smiley with the old ball mouse = ack, it looked like a 2 year old's drawing! Then I drew a smiley after I hooked up my new Intellimouse and WOW, what a difference, now the circle was smooth instead of jerky and I could make little dot eyes instead of square eyes that the ball mouse made. It was the funniest thing I just sat there and kept looking at the 2 pics side by side = there is a huge difference! Ok, enough ranting on how precise it is... I also appreciate the additional 2 side buttons, one is for "page back" in your internet browser and the other for "page forward" - they are both located conveniently near the thumb but not in the way of normal mouse movement. Also this is a three button mouse, the scrolling wheel serves as a button too. So, 5 buttons and keen precision and no jerky stuck on the edge of the mousepad! Oh, did I mention, unless you have a glasstop desk or a mirror top one, you DO NOT NEED a mousepad. Nope! Even your jeans work...this mouse is slick! No need to pull and drag to make that ball work anymore! Lose the ball and get one of these optical mice and you will never look back again! Pros = smooth, accurate movement, total precision for gaming Cons = why a red light? why not blue? (lol, just kidding) Overall = I will not surrender this mouse, its mine, get away, go get your own! (ie, I would buy it again and will not go back to ball cleaning)
Rating: Summary: Best Mouse Around - Great Web Browsing Mouse Review: Feels great in the hand and never skips a beat. I've never had to clean it and it works on ANYTHING with perfect precision. I LOVE the 2 side buttons (I have them set to refresh and back). The scroll wheel can be depressed (Mine is set to maximize). Works with both USB and PS2 ports. Do yourself a favor and buy this mouse. You will NOT regret it!
Rating: Summary: One "click" Away! Review: The best mouse I've ever used and believe me I've used several. Being a web designer I need all the shortcuts I can get and this mouse will do just that. It's also great for browsing the internet with the back/forward button placed on the side. All of my screens are now just one "click" away!
Rating: Summary: The Best Mouse Review: This is the best mouse I've ever used. Microsoft seems to have released upgraded version of this mouse. The old one and the new one are different in terms of thier shape. I own the new one and the old one. I've used the old one for more than a year, and as I carry it around too much with my laptop that it went dead. So I bought the new one. I love this shape even better and the wheel and the buttons feel just right and the size of it fits my hand. The performance is great. As I do programming, I need precision that can follow my quick movement, and this mouse meet my criteria. I also own Wireless Explorer, but it didn't meet my criteria in terms of precision. If you do heavy work with your computer, this is the mouse you gotta get!
