Review: This mouse is very unique. I myself especially like it though the price is a little too shot up. I like the idea to have a slot to put your mouse in. The look of this mouse also catches my eye.

Review: My big question when ordering this mouse was whether or not it would work with my linksys 4-port kvm switch. I've had issues with cordless mice and the kvm in the past (even from Logitech). On first boot up, each of my three computers recognized the mouse with no problems and no setup needed.I was also pleased to see that ctl, shift, alt plus the scroll (either buttons or the wheel) worked to pan, tilt, and zoom an image in Photoshop. I do a fair deal of graphics work and this is a time saver. In conclusion, it's compatible with linsys sview04 kvm, xp, 2k, and 2k advanced server. Good job logitech.

Summary: Sweet--Sweet Mouse
Review: Have use the MX700 mouse for two weeks and haven't been able to find anything wrong with it except that it is small enough that I sometimes lose it on my computer desk not having a cord.....Now--If only Logitech can come out with a cordless keyboard that is as fine as the MX700 mouse--what a package they would have...Keep up the great work...This is a "MUST" have item...Gamers and non-gamers alike...Sweet--Sweet Mouse

Summary: Cool, but what about software?
Review: The basic mouse functions are great. It has good accuracy, feels good in the hand, it's pretty, and I like the potential of actually using the 6 other controls when Logitech updates their software. I followed the excellent instruction booklet to install this on my Windows 2000 Dell computer, but I was never able to find a way to assign commands to the extra controls. The installed software thought I had a 2 button mouse. I zoomed on over to Logitech's website to look for solutions and downloaded the current version of the mouse software. However, even Logitech's updated software can't recognize anything more than a 2 button mouse. I have since removed all of Logitech's software, sent them an e-mail explaining the problem, and I still have effectively a cute 2 button cordless mouse. I suppose I expected more from top-of-the-line

Summary: Excellent choice!
Review: I originally bought the MX700 to use with my portable. Now I find myself plugging it in to my Macintosh OSX desktop system, too! It's smooth and full-featured. Writers will find the scroll wheel very handy. If you work with layout programs, being able to switch from page to page with a click of the mouse (without moving the cursor) is a time-saving feature that makes my Mac Mouse seem antiquated. Wth a ... rebate, this mouse is a bargain!

Summary: Awesome Mouse!
Review: I just purchased a new computer and I was so tired of fighting the cord on my other mouse. And having to continually clean the ball and interior was driving me nuts. I did a research on cordless/optical mice and the Logitech MX700 was by far the best mouse. I'm loving it's ease, the buttons that give more options and flexibility, and the freedom from the cord and cleaning! Before purchasing it I checked out several places and Amazon.com has the best deal by far. Now all I need is a cordless keyboard and I'll be tickled pink!

Summary: The Most Precise Wireless
Review: As someone who does a lot of precision mouse work with graphics programs, I stayed away from wireless mice for a long time. Logitech has always made quality hardware, I've used several Logitech mice over the years. The classic 3 button mouse was great, then I made the switch to Logitech's first optical mouse a few years ago. The first Logitech optical mouse was not every precise but with it's glowing logo, it was quite the office eye catcher. For the past 6 months, I was using the dual optical for more precise movements. The Mx700 is a really good looking mouse, the titanium/black finish matches perfectly with more modern components such as aluminum cases and silver finish monitors. The base station is quite sturdy and the mouse looks very attractive seated in the base unit. Installation itself is fairly simple, just connect the base station to your computer's usb port and connect the ac adapter to the input at the end of the cable. You will need to charge the mouse for 2 hours before use. Once the mouse is charged, you will need to turn on the computer and install the software. The mouse itself really shines when browsing, the forward and back buttons on the left side are quite useful. The scroll functions work well in IE, but you will need to change the settings in mozilla to get decent scroll speed, just look under the advanced tab in the settings menu. I've read some previous complaints about software, but I've found that the MX700 drivers work great. I've also tested this mouse on Redhat 8 with no problems, although it does take some configuration to get the other buttons working. Logitech needs to port mouseware to Linux! Overall, a great mouse.

Summary: Well worth it!
Review: I've read a few concerns in gaming forums where people are worried about "wireless lag." This mouse has NO LAG. I do a lot of intense gaming and graphics editing. The MX700 performs wonderfully in both environments. I thought I would never buy a battery powered mouse, but the recharger solved that concern. I have gone up to three days of heavy use before the battery light started blinking. (I am using the batteries that came with the MX700.) Spending less on batteries is a big plus. :) Some gamers may need to change the default mouse settings in order for the scroll wheel to completely function within games. Do a little research.

Review: I have read a lot about the incompatibility of this mouse with several games. Here are a few hints that could make things a lot easier, 1. Don't install the software that comes with it. I plugged in the mouse on my windows XP PC, and the mouse works just fine. The only button that would not work without the included software is the one on the center on top of the mouse. Since all this does is toggle between application, it not a big deal (you can use ALT-TAB for the same function). If you really feel the need to customize the buttons, wait for the latest software fixes/updates from logitech. 2. Don't throw away your favorite corded mouse. During gaming (heavy use), the mouse only lasts for about 6-7 hours on a charge. As this mouse runs out of power (needing recharging) you may need your corded mouse still plugged-in handy, if you are in the middle of some action. 3. The mouse feels very different at first, making you want to puke at throwing away you hard earned money. Be patient, this mouse takes time to get used to, and once you get used to it you'll love it! It is so precise, try sniping while running/strafing, you will never go back to your old mouse. The mouse is a little heavier due to the batteries, but since the mouse is so precise you can set it at high sensitivity (you'll get used to it) and you won't have to move it much. I personally like the "weighty" feel of the mouse, reminds me of the good 'ol mouse with a heavy rollerball underneath. This an excellent mouse and well worth it with the $20 rebate.
