Summary: Three words: stylish - superb - cool
Review: If I could I would really give this mouse a 4 1/2 star rating because, the directions were a little backwards. For you notebook owners, don't worry about your touch pads they still work during and after the installation of the cordless mouseware, even if you get bored with the mouse, you can still switch back. The set up is easy. The mouse has two different connections which should fit all computers, and notebooks (laptops)one type of connection is for your USB port, or you could connect it into the other fitting made specifically for your computer. Another plus of this mouse besides being cordless is its rechargable base, and everything is included. Included: - 2 different connectors
- The rechargable batteries
- No mousepad recquired ( but I do recomend one)
- AC adapter
- instructions (pretty easy to follow, mine was backwards)
* Plug the mouse in after you install the mouse software fully, then restart, then start up again and plug the mouse in. Make sure the mouse has been charged for *two full hours first. Don't worry about other reviews that worry about weight. As long as you don't have Osteopirosis you should be fine. The heftiness is a good idea because it is not easily knocked off the rechargable base, and/or onto the floor. Lastly the price is worth it, by it here on Amazon.com not at other stores, because a lot of the other stores are more exspensive...enjoy

Summary: Great Mouse!!!
Review: I must say, Im very happy with this mouse. I cannot say however if it is worth the 70 bucks. This is because my friend's mom works at Logitech, so i got this nice mouse for 40. But I am very impressed with it. I am a pretty big gamer, and many ppl say Logitech is bad for gaming. I disagree with this, this mouse works perfectly fine. The extra buttons on it come in handy when i dont want to move my mouse all the way to the top and click back or go to the scrollbar on the right. Its a very smooth mouse and i have never experienced any skips whatsoever. If you are looking for a new mouse, get this one!

Summary: Works well, but not great with laptops with XP & serial port
Review: If I plug this into the USB port on my laptop, it works as others have described it--very slick, comfortable to use and lots of handy functions. The downside is one of the reasons I bought it was because it could be used on the serial port. If I plug into that port I only get the standard mouse functions. It also rolls right off my pull down Key board if I have it at any angle. So, if you have an extra USB port and you don't work at an angle or have a mouse pad with a backstop--go for it. It is comfortable in your hand and very responsive.

Summary: BUG ALERT: MouseWorks doesn't work in games, if at all...
Review: I just purchased the MX700 last night, after finally retiring a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (also optical). The reaction time of the MX700 is silky and extremely fast, unlike my previous optical. I can't make this thing stick, crash or jump, which was a problem with the MS Intellimouse. I love the way the mouse moves. Problem is, I need to use MS drivers to make it that way. Here's why: If you're a gamer, don't install the MouseWorks software (I tested the latest version, which as of this writing is 9.75 build 302). Just stick to the standard PS/2 Compatible Mouse driver until Logitech gets their act together. Why? The scroll wheel doesn't work in games! I use it to switch weapons and no amount of tweaking could fix it -- even in the venerable Quake 3 Arena. I can't believe there isn't native scroll wheel support in games. Logitech also has a "Mouse Registry File for Gamers" that was posted in June, and is supposed to resolve the problem by fixing a registry key by enabling "MouseHookDLLEnable". It doesn't work. With the MouseWorks software, I also had problems with scrolling in general. It's twitchy - sometimes you get two lines, sometimes none, etc. It's like my mouse went to Tequilaville. Utterly useless software. All the buttons except for the application switcher work just fine with the PS/2 MS driver. The app button mimics the alt-tab action and produces an ugly fat window on screen. Just stay away from MouseWorks. So: Excellent design, extremely comfortable, very snappy response, but the software is GARBAGE. And if I were you I'd think about that before handing over a hefty chunk of cash for a mouse that does half of what's advertised. (Speaking of advertising - be aware that the software installer also tries to sneak in eBay and WildTangent slop, too. What a joke! I expected better from Logitech.) Suggestion: before you buy the mouse, keep your eye on Logitech's web site and see what the latest driver fix does - and be warned, as they have a registry patch "for gamers" that does no good whatsoever. Keep informed. If you really don't want all of the advertised functionality (and I use that term loosely), the PS/2 drivers work very well.

Summary: Excellent feel and accurate!
Review: This is a mouse for the serious computer user or anyone who wants a top notch mouse. It has some really nice features, it allows you to scroll forward/backward in your browser with a click, scroll through web pages line by line or with their "cruise control" feature, switch through recently used applications, and the traditional left and right clicks. The mouse driver also allows for more customization, although not necissary as all but one button (the application switcing button) work without it. I hear that installing the software may cause some games to work improperly, so if you're a gamer you might need to uninstall the drivers if your game won't work with the mouse. Aside from the features it's incredibly accurate. It'll take a little bit to get used to, but it's really nice. It moves faster than most regular mice and is still much more accurate. If you play first person shooters this'll definately increase your performance if you are currently using a generic mouse. It's also very nice that it's cordless, and the charging isn't much of a problem. I've used the mouse all day long and not had problems. I just set it in it's charger when I'm going somewhere and when I sleep. Setting the mouse up is also easy. Logitech is a high quality company, and I was impressed the second I looked in the box. The mouse is a breeze to set up and comes with a nice manual (a five year old could set it up). You can choose to either use the usb plug or use an adapter to hook it into your ps/2 port. Then you plug a cord into the end of the usb plug and into your wall (it's easy to tell what to do when you look at it). The mouse comes with two rechargable AA batteries. All in all this mouse is well worth the money and one of the best choices as far as mice (mouses?) go.

Summary: Greatest Mouse on the Market
Review: This mouse is great! It is very sleek looking and performs better than my trackball mouse. The buttons are easy to customize, allowing you to assign any to a long list of functions. The batteries last very long, and when you need to recharge them, you just drop the whole mouse in the charging base. If you are thinking of buying this mouse, just get it...you'll be happy you did.

Review: Decent mouse. Very quick response and smooth cursor movement but simply too big and heavy. Buttons are placed in strange locations. The mouse seemed to absorb the sweat off my hand unlike my previous Intellimouse Optical. (Strange comment I know.)

Summary: Great Wireless, Great Mouse
Review: This mouse is by far the best wireless on the market. The rechargable stand is perfect for eliminating battery changes. The other wireless mice just don't offer it. It has easy-to-use web navigation buttons on the side and Logitech's outstanding software to make it scream. If you are looking to go wireless, you need this mouse!

Summary: Wireless Heaven
Review: Although I cannot compare this mouse to another wireless one, I think that this mouse is great! While searching for a new mouse to use as my old one was about to retire, there were two choices, the MX700 or the microsoft wireless mouse. The Logitech MX700 provided a charger and a holder in one which none of the other mouses that are out there have.
Another plus are the buttons on the mouse, although all of the buttons do not work on Mac OS X, they should work on Mac OS 9 or Windows. The only drawback is that Logitech claims you need to keep the reciever twenty inches away from other electronics which seems quite impossible. If you or someone does not need the hassle of cords, this is the mouse for you. Pros:
1) Has a quick (very quick) charger included on the base.
2) Buttons and scroll wheel are useful and easy to use.
3) No need for installing on Mac OS X
4) Very long range Cons:
1) Some buttons do not work on Mac OS X
2) The space of 20" is hard to get

Summary: Cheap Batteries
Review: I bought this mouse and allowed it to charge for two days over Christmas. When I got back to my office, the batteries had not charged. I contacted Logitech customer service by e-mail and the response was that the batteries might not be good and I should return it to the store and for a non-defective product. Instead I bought new re-chargeable batteries and now the product works. This is the third Logitech wireless product that I was unable to use on my initial purchase.
