Rating: Summary: good for typing papers Review: During the day when I'm not around a computer I use mine to type papers. Then when I get home I can put it on the computer and format it!
Rating: Summary: Can't Hot Sync my Tungsten C with Software Installed Review: I hate this keyboard. Sure it works fine, but I can't hotsync my Tungsten C to the computer when the keyboard software is installed. If I uninstall the software, the hotsync works fine, but as soon as the keyboard software gets put back on, no more hotsync. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose? Clearly it is not compatable will all of the Tungsten models even though Palm says it is. And of course customer service is a pain, and it's too late to get the cash that we forked out back. If you have a Tungsten C, don't waste your money or your time.
Rating: Summary: Get This Review: If you need to type notes during a meeting, or if you are a student that needs to takes notes all the time, buy this product. The keyboard is a snap to set up, simply install the drivers, and you're ready. The keyboard doesn't seem to drain too much power. During class I'm able to type notes with this keyboard as if I were using a laptop. The keyboard is full size, so it is really comfortable. I recommend getting this product if you need to take notes. The product fits in your pocket as well...
Rating: Summary: Limited Usability Review: This is the first review I have ever written on a product. I am writing it because, I am frustrated. I am apparently missing something or this keyboard is unusable. Sure you can type text fine. However, what keyboards are also useful for is navigation. In other words, the Palm Stylus is to a mouse as what I expected this keyboard to be to a computer keyboard. In short, this keyboard provides no method to any of the following without the stylus, as an example.CAN'T DO: Select an appointment in the datebook to edit it. Select a memo in the Memo List to edit it. Select any record in any 3rd party applications to edit it. Scroll the date view Tab to controls (e.g., buttons, dropdowns) So on ... The Cancel or Done key combination rarely works, even for the default applications. In short, you can't use the keyboard independently of the stylus the way you can use a computer keyboard independently of a mouse -- which was a BIG disappointment.
Rating: Summary: NOT for the m125! Review: Very nice keyboard - nice feel, good size, comes with a good warrantee. HOWEVER don't be fooled by the description that it's good for all m100 series Palms! It only works with the m100 and m105 models. Other than the fact that it won't work with my Palm, I think it's great!
Rating: Summary: better than expected Review: I received a pleasent surprise. The keyboard was shipped sooner than I expected, arrived in perfect condition and works beautifully. I will buy from this vendor again.
Rating: Summary: Ridiculous for touch-typing! Review: Am I nuts, or what? Am I the only reviewer who noticed that this keyboard has an ENORMOUS GAP where your left hand should fit? Your A-S-D fingers fit just fine, but you have to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your F finger across this gap to reach the F, R and C keys. Also the shift key on the right side of the keyboard is across another ENORMOUS GAP, so you can't reach it automatically as you type. If you hunt-and-peck, fine. But if you want to type rapidly, forget about it! g.
Rating: Summary: No need for a laptop! Review: I bought this keyboard for my Palm IIIc as an alternative to buying a lightweight laptop for writing on the go. It's extremely handy and well-built, and when it's unfolded it's the same size as a standard keyboard, so there's no awkwardness trying to get used to typing on it. I was considering a laptop only because I wanted to have something I could take with me to write while I travel, so for my purposes the Palm keyboard works very well. It's also very handy for updating calendar and address information, rather than using stylus to write each letter one at a time or tap on the virtual keyboard Palm displays on its screen. The keyboard folds compactly into a nice size that fits in its own little zippered case, only a little larger than a standard men's wallet. It's durable enough that I can toss it in my bag with my Palm and I carry it around with me everywhere. The best thing about it is that it doesn't require its own power, has no special accessories, and saps very little from the Palm's battery. In fact, I've never noticed any significant drain on the Palm's battery due to using the keyboard. I think the time I save by typing instead of writing with the stylus makes up for any extra drain it causes. The keyboard is fairly stable, but it needs to be used on a flat surface so you can't type with it in your lap. I find that the Palm sometimes bounces a little due to the keyboard not lying completely flat, but this is easily remedied by putting a thin magazine or a few sheets of newspaper underneath while using them on a hard surface. Overall, a great investment for its usefulness, I've been able to avoid spending lots of money on a laptop, at least for the time being.
Rating: Summary: This is the best add-on for any handheld device Review: This keyboard revolutionized my Palm usage. Before it was just an address book with a calendar. Now, I'm using it for everything! I wrote my senior thesis on it using Documents to Go. I take notes with it. Write emails with it. It's awesome. Sure, it's a little unstable, but how often are you someplace without a flat surface? Once it's packed up in its case, it's super strong. It can take a beating. All in all, buy it, you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Smooth Review: Smooth! Definitely because it gets installed and running in a jiffy! I havent tried any other keyboards so I am not in a position to compare, but I do know that setting up some accessories can be real tasking. The feel of the keyboard is very much like that of a notebook computer. There are some "soft foldable" keybaords on the market, for which I have heard people cribbing. I mostly use it to compose email messages and it surely does make a difference. There is a command key the functions of which (in addition to numeric keys) can be customized to open different programs and utilities. Plus there are default keys to open the most commonly used applications. There is no external power requirement, meaning no additional wires... thank God. So the question is why did I give it four stars if it so user friendly and functionally adequate? Well, I feel that it is a little bit too pricey. I mean you can get Palm m100 or Palm Zire in its price! But all in all, if you really have the need... go for it.
