Summary: Great mouse!!
Review: Actually I got this mouse free of cost from Microsoft when I completed their 10 question quiz about XP Mobility. Thanks to FatWallet.When I first opened the package, I was surprised at the weight of the mouse, its too light. No problems in installation, very easy to use. As one mentioned here having problems in XP Pro, I didn't find any. It got installed automatically with no problems. Too good for travelers.

Review: have been looking for a quality mouse to use w/ new dell laptop. have read many reviews but the microsoft notebook optical mouse consistently gets rave reviews. gave it a try ...i plugged it and it immediately was functioning perfectly. this sure beats the 'skating rink' touchpad. you cannot go wrong with this mouse; it makes the laptop experience just like using the desktop machine. truly plug & play!

Summary: A little small for my hands...
Review: I bought this little mouse to keep in my laptop bag. I figured it would be nicer than using the touchpad when staying in hotels. Not only that, but it is a Microsoft mouse, so that means quality..... Well, it is a good quality mouse, but there are a few minuses for me.
1. I am not a small guy, over 6-4....this thing is too small in my hand. Yes, I am a big guy, so I should have thought of it, but still, it is REALLY small.
2. It cannot use the Intellimouse software that MS uses with all its other mice. That means I cannot reprogram the middle button as a Back button to ease web browsing.
3. The cord is very short to allow for more compact storage. Well, my laptop has the USB port on the rear, left side of the laptop...and I am right handed. It barely makes it around my Dell Inspiron 8100. Overall, just not a good purchase for me....my advice would be to try it out in the store before you buy... Ron

Summary: You can do better...
Review: I got this mouse first, but have since gotten the Labtec Mini Wireless Optical Mouse (911531-0403), and here's why:
I'm one of those who always rolled his eyes at the idea of wireless mice, especially for laptops. The idea that someone would need a radio-controlled device to communicate with a computer that was two inches away seemed ridiculous.
Well, it's not. If you hate trackpads (I do), and can't make yourself spend the $500 premium for a laptop with a pointing stick (I can't), you want a wireless mouse for your laptop. I learned this the hard way, by first buying a wired mini mouse for my new laptop. I soon learned that wireless mice aren't silly at all.
That mouse cable which isn't much of a problem for a desktop becomes a huge hassle with a notebook, since it has to be unwound and rewound for every work session. Worse, each winding twists and kinks the cable more, and you eventually wind up with a rat's nest that's always in your way.
So I knew I had to get another mouse, but wanted as few things to shlep as possible. Most wireless mice require that you add three things to your travel kit: the mouse, the transmitter, and a carrying bag. Not this one; since the usb transmitter stores inside the mouse itself, this mouse is it's OWN carrying case...that much less to worry about.
It's so cleverly designed it makes me chuckle with admiration. It's just a case of getting everything right.

Summary: This is a terrific little mouse
Review: I have been using this mouse for a couple of days now and I love it. First, its cute :) More important, it works very well. I plugged it in and it was recognized right away. The size is perfect for fitting in my laptop bag and is fine for using at home as well. I don't understand people complaining about the small size because that would seem to be the main reason for buying it. I think it is a great product!

Summary: The scroll wheel breaks quickly...
Review: I have had two of these mice, and within a month both mice had broken scroll wheels. The wheels are now locked solid and will not budge in either direction. I opened up the mice and discovered that they are assembled so cheaply that the piece holding the wheel in place eventually warps slightly, causing the wheel to rub against other parts of the mouse and it is the friction caused by this that prevents the wheel from turning. It's a nice enough mouse if you want a small mouse and a short cable, convenient for laptops, but don't expect to use the scroll wheel daily for any length of time.

Review: I just bought my first laptop computer and really, really hated the touchpad. I found it unresponsive at times and found the whole right clicking and using the pad at the same time a pain.
I spent a while browsing the different mice available on this and other sites and in the end decided upon this little number.
I am very happy that I did too. Its pretty small and very lightweight but at the same time it doesnt feel at all fragile - definately well made. Im about 5'11 and have fairly big hands - I find this mouse comfortable to use. It looks pretty cool too, the red panels on the side light up, which is always good for night work. All the buttons are very responsive and that middle button is a godsend after using the touchpad for the past month. I couldnt ask for better all round performance. And for $20 you really cant go wrong, it really is a great price for a microsoft mouse. The only reason I dont give it five stars?? Well this is technology - although it is a awesome piece of kit, there are always other things or features they could have added!

Review: I originally rated this item 1 star, simply because I was unable to download the software to operate this product. After many attempts, I finally got the software to install. What a great mouse! It works great, much better than I had anticipated. I liked it so much, I purchased another for my other computer. This is a good buy for the money.
