Summary: Excellent mouse, affordable price
Review: I bought this mouse because I was tired of my old one getting caught up all the time. Also, I don't enjoy the hassle of cleaning it. This mouse from Microsoft is very neat. Not only is it maintenance free, but the pointer on the screen becomes accurate to the pixel. The movement, of the pointer, on the screen is very fluid and precise due to the laser diode that is emitted from the bottom. The mouse also does not need a mouse pad, and works on any surface except glass. The mouse also has a nice futuristic look and becomes a conversation piece for friends that use my computer. This mouse is wonderful. Get it, you'll like it.

Summary: A mouse for the show-off
Review: This mouse is a very very pretty thing to have on your desktop. It has a great design on it and works great ^_^! I had a mouse (normal microsoft one) for 3 years and it got dirty and i practically hit the thing and moved it and it wouldn't work (dirt anyone?). AFter that i wanted to buy this mouse but the money didn't permit it so i bought the Microsoft Wheel Mouse, I liked how the mouse was very very smooth on my mouse path and i loved the feeling. After a while it started getting dirty and i hated to clean it everytime. So when money permited me to buy the intellimouse explorer i said to myself: "go for it"! It was great, now i get that same soft, smooth feeling all the time when i use my mouse, i don't have to clean it anymore (except when i drop something on it duh) and it has great acuracy. The only problem i experience with it is that when i move it too fast it goes the wrong way, probably because of the laser. You need a surface with good patterns on it or the mouse won't work on you (something clear won't work). But other than that it works practically on any surface. I love the little laser light on the bottom, when i leave my PC on at night it's all red and shiny heheh because of the mouse. It's a very nice tool and ornament for your PC so if you have the money get this little rodent .

Summary: I never want to use a "ball" muse again!
Review: I got this mouse back in January when it was pretty new. I loved this mouse eversince. Its bigger than normal mice so it fits my hand perfectly. It also has thumb buttons for "back" and "forward" on web browsers, and ofcourse the ever useful scroll wheel which is great for MS Woed and the internet. I love the fact that you never have to clean dust out of that stupid ball again. It also is just awesome looking, I love the red light.

Summary: IV'E HAD PROBLEMS!
Review: I bought a Intellemouse when they first came out. I said cool, started liking it, because when your a top online gamer in the world, you need a smooth mouse. I really liked it, but then the wires started coming loose and now it doesn't work. I took it apart to see what the problem was and that was it, but didnt know where they went. If you are a gamer, dont get this. We tend to tug on the cables while moving.

Summary: I Love This Mouse
Review: I spend 6 hours a day in front of a computer, and this mouse is on my list of must-have devices. Prior to getting the IntelliMouse Explorer, I would regularly have to bang my mouse against the desk to get all the little dust and flakes out of the mechanism - very frustrating.

If you use an automatic switchbox (Cybex, et. al) with your PC to share a monitor/mouse/keyboard setup with multiple PC's, you may experience some difficulties. I have two different brands of automatic switchbox that I use, and this mouse does not work with either of them. If this is important to you, check with your switchbox manufacturer.

Summary: Highest-precision mouse I've seen
Review: The new Microsoft mouse is a tad hard getting use to because of its size, shape and new buttons, but if you do not pay attention to the extra functionality and additional buttons, the precision of the IntelliMouse is unmatched. I've been using it with Photoshop and Illustrator and it is a joy to use. The red light can get somewhat annoying, especially if working in a dark environment.

Summary: Great mouse!
Review: This mouse is great, no more mice balls to clean! I bought it when it was [pricey], so the price has no where to go but down. I am a web developer, and this mouse is a great time saver when scrolling through hundreds of lines of code, or pinpointing pixels in PhotoShop. I am even thinking of buying a couple as gifts!

Summary: Great mouse, not perfect though
Review: This is, hopefully, the way mouses will be made from now on. The laser is great, I was so sick of the rolling ball coming out of the bottom on my old mouse. The scroll wheel is not a new feature, but it's still very helpful. I'm not sure if the back/forward buttons on the side are a new feature but I still love it, very useful stuff.

My only complaint is the shape of the mouse. Many people say "it fits like a glove" and whatnot but I don't totally agree. It still is a vast improvement over some mouses but it's not perfect. See, I have very long fingers. For me to position my thumb right on the back/forward buttons on the side, my fingers are pushed way over the front of the mouse and i have to hit the left and right buttons with pretty much the base of my fingers, instead of the comfortable way of having the tips of your fingers pressing down on the buttons. Likewise, if I hold it so my tips are pressing down, my thumb is under the back/forward buttons and to reach them it's very awkward and clumsy. All my complaints are pretty trite but it still would deserve 5 stars if the side buttons were more accessible.

Summary: The Holy Grail of Mice!
Review: The IntelliMouse Explorer is by far the most comfortable, functional and easy to use input device I have ever used.

THE MOUSE: The mouse, which is slightly larger than standard, fits very comfortably in the hand. The five buttons (one of which is a roller for scrolling) all feel nice, and are placed in appropriate places (though I found the side buttons a bit difficult to get used to at first). The IntelliEye does really work on most any surface, and the tracking is always precise and smooth.

THE INSTALLATION: Installation was as easy as puting the CD in, clicking install, and plugging in the mouse-no other setup required.

THE SOFTWARE: I am not normally a fan of Microsoft software, but the IntelliMouse Control panel is absolutely fantastic. It makes it very easy to configure global settings for your mouse (you can assign just about anything to any one of the five buttons), and just as easy to create custom configurations for different applications. (For example, I have the roller control volume, rather than scrolling, in my MP3 player and the side buttons start and stop the music.)

All around, a great, great purchase. (I've bought two more as gifts!)

Summary: Pure Genius
Review: I dont know what everyone is complaining about, this mouse is beautiful. It fits the hand like a glove. If your left handed you probably might not want it but its a must for right handers. I play computer games, design web pages/images, and everything else you can on a computer. this mouse has not failed me once, my score in my games goes up because this mouse is incredibly responsive and accurate. you dont need a mouse pad, it works great on just my normal wood desk surface. The 2 buttons on the side, and the mouse scrolly thing makes surfing the web easier than ever, and a few extra buttons for the games which is very helpful. If you have the money to shell out for a mouse this is definatley the way to go.
