Summary: A Great Mouse!
Review: I believe this mouse to be one of the best on the market. The shape of this mouse is different from the standard mouse design, and it takes some getting used to. But soon after using the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer it'll feel natural and much more comfortable than any other mouse. After 5 months with this mouse, I have trouble going back to other mouses! The scroll wheel, while standard, is very helpful. Plus, the IntelliMouse Explorer has 4 buttons, the standard left/right buttons, plus two side buttons placed exactly where your thumb rests. The two side buttons can be associated with a wider variety of actions, and come pre-associated to have the two buttons go forward/backward in the browser. Another plus is this mouse can be used with both PC and Mac, and uses a laser instead of a trackball.

Only downside is that it is designed for a right-handed person.

Summary: The Perfect Mouse
Review: Originally looking at this mouse, I didn't like its design or the grey buttons on the sides. However It is worth every penny. The intellieye is amazing and incredibly smooth compared to a standard ball mouse. The Wheel moves forward and back incredibly smoothly unlike some. And orignially I thought the buttons on the side would just get in the way, But I use them all the time as forward and back buttons.

Don't buy any other mouse. This one fits every need. However I wish they offered the exact mouse in a wireless version.

Summary: Finally Microsoft made something for Macintosh that WORKS!
Review: I am very pleased with this mouse. I could barely tolerate the MAC mouses but had to because I did not see anything better UNTIL this mouse came out. I really appreciate the adaptability and simplicity of this mouse. I am a Graphic Designer and being able to hot key 5 different commands for all the various programs I use is time saving and convenient. Good going, Bill and Company.

Summary: Great mouse but too big for smaller hands.
Review: I have large hands so it is great for me bu I have seen other with smaller hands have trouble moving it around. Also the 2 side buttons could have been placed better. Even with large hands like mine the button toward the front is a little too inconvenient to be useful.

Summary: mouse is cool, but software is not.
Review: I love the mouse, but installing the software slowed down my system. I often find myself lifting the mouse to reset the cursor because it disappears or gets stuck. Perhaps it's just not optimally suited for my Sony Vaio laptop.

Summary: GREAT TOY...LOL
Review: This is a great piece of equipment. You can always tell when your computer is on because of the glowing red laser light on the bottom It always works and doesn't need a mousepad. The back/forward button on the side are very helpful when it comes to surfing the net. The wheel on the top is also very helpful. I feel deprived without that wheel. The reaction time is superband works great. The software, Intellipoint, has a bunch of neat features even some useless one which are pretty cool. You can set the acceleration speed on the mouse and how fast it can go, and you can set an odometer to show how far your mouse has traveled. The mouse is also eergonomical. It is nothing like those 5 year old flat mice. I highly recommend this toy...I mean piece of hardware!

Summary: Be carfull!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Before this mouse, I had the cheap mouse that came with my computer. After using this mouse and the wheel, I cannot use another mouse! I am addicted. If I use another computer, I "try" to use the no existant wheel. I don't know how I lived without it. It is very precise and I like the laser and the fact that you don't have to clean it or use a mouse pad.

Summary: Awesome mouse!
Review: this mouse is really a good mouse. It is not too light, like some of the people said it was, and it fits my hand perfect. It moves smoothly all the time, and the lite on the bottom is cool. my hand feels more comfortable on this mouse. its worth the $$

Summary: End of the Dust Bunny Conspiracy!
Review: I have just recently started to use some software that needed precision mouse movements, similar to the Paint program. IT was very annoying trying to draw a line or click on a very small point on the screen, especially with my normal 'balled' mouse. No more will my cursor jump over the exact spot I need to point at! No more pulling it apart and scraping those conspiring dust bunnies. Whether you are palying games, trying to highlight words or numbers in a document, or other similar precision mouse movements, you will enjoy this product.

Summary: Space Age but unwieldy - poor ergonomics
Review: Buying this mouse evokes two extremes in feeling - either you will love the product or hate it - no in-between feelings. By now most would know the features - the good ones that is - so I will concentrate on the lousy ones.

Firstly, it is just too big for a mouse - especially for asian hands - come on microsoft - who did you think would use this product - a gorilla ? the ergonomics are inadequate.

It is not as free to move as the logitech three button mouse - again because of the size. It takes some effort to move it around.

The buttons are way too smooth and click to easily - especially the last button sloping down - one tends to accidentally click it when you are moving the mouse around. The scroll wheel is too is very smooth - but I guess this is OK.

The side buttons are placed in a very awkward position - they are not alligned with the natural fall of the thumb - as a result you have to move your hand to use these buttons. its like hailing a taxi to get to these buttons - its so awkward ! again rotten ergonomics.

lastly its too pricey.

just hope microsoft would read this feedback and rectify the disprecencies mentioned above.

the good points:

accurate tracking, no cleaning required, looks fancy BUT....

the bottomline - poor ergonomics - gimme a logitch mouse anyday.
